Explosive Garden Gnome Mines

- Garden gnomes are a popular decoration for urban gardens in the United States. Explosive Garden gnome mines packed with fragmentation are their wild cousin that adopted a spicy flavor. You might have seen a few memes circulating joking about arming gnomes with explosives and frag material. As Sean once said: don't let your memes stay dreams.
We scoured the internet for ideal gnomes and Jake got to work in his weapons workshop to turn these lovely garden decoration devices into explosive devices. We made several different ones to test out various explosives including black powder, flash powder, the infamous tannerite, and liquid high explosive. We then measured the fragmentation from each one to see which one works best.

YT have been glitching like crazy and has been deleting comments. Including our pinned comment. It's getting really annoying. Anyways, now to market the garden gnome pest control device.
heard you guys talk about Gemini explosive what is it
This was epic. I wouldn't recommend this but it would be effective to say the least. That Gemini is some good stuff. I know I can't have your recipe here though.
Do you have access to Conclusion Patches? The Membrane covered sack set at breaking at specific wave power. A diy way is to use whoopie custom like pouches.
*Concussion
@@voiddreams1074 It is a binary explosive Jake formulated. Has a high detonation velocity and great for shaped charges.
@@OrdnanceLab is it nitromethane based? thanks for your work, you guys inspired me to get an explosives license. i'm working on starting the business with my best friend of 26 years right now
THE TANNERITE GNOME HAS RISEN THE MEMES HAVE FORETOLD HIS ARRIVAL
As an artist who sells a lot of gnomes, i could make it a thing.
💀
@@jakehildebrand1824please make one shaped like he’s wearing a cardboard placard saying “FRONT TOWARDS ENEMY” and on the back “BEWARE BACKBLAST AREA”.
@@superdave4564 Alright.
Out of clay till Tuesday, but I'll definitely make that.

Gnomes, always known for their mischievous behavior.
Nothing is more mischievous than a surprise explosion.
I was conceived by a mischievous surprise explosion!
Sounds like a dietary issue
*Achievement Unlocked: "Gnomeland Security."*
We should make that into a shirt.
Don't do this at Gnome.
"Gnomemade Explosives."
@@Kenj1090 ok that is really funny.
💯 that should be a shirt
A few points to address:
We had to re-edit the video as Acre was the original sponsor, but they got shady and bailed on their commitments. So Gunspot stepped up and took over where they bailed.
The amount of info we put out in each video is limited as YT will yank the video if we do. So b-roll showing production or giving out specific details on the explosive devices is a no go.
We are well aware the test would have been better with ballistic gel dummies. The fire still did a number to our finances, so we can't purchase any. We some contracts pending that soon will give us some additional funds to play with. Until then, standard targets will have to suffice.
Upload to rumble?
Yea upload somewhere else censorship on YT since 2010s has gotten worse and worse. Whole point of internet share information. Most people don’t have access to those explosive. Or won’t do . For education purposes I think should be ok explain to audience how you made gnomes. Whole point internet share information. Website like yt been destroying spirt of information sharing.
Finally, a decorative solution to the gophers ruining my yard. Can you make them biodegradable?
Biodegradable explosive gnome mines? Sounds like a solid marketing idea right there. HGTV would eat it up.
Certainly. Plaster of Paris is biodegradable. Will need moisture proofing.
Gophers are biodegradable. 😁
pine sap covered cellulose, completely biodegradable and leaves your garden smelling fresh.
They can sure make the gophers biodegradable
The idea of the Korean DMZ getting covered with lawn Gnome claymores in addition to the already existing landmines paints a wonderfully ridiculous image in my mind.
Perhaps in the likeness of comrade Kim🤔
We need fine minds like yours on our secret EM-50 project.
Wife is busy making t-shirts for our garden gnomes that say "FRONT TOWARD ENEMY"
"Nose toward enemy"?
I knew the flash powder was going to have quite a lot more oomph than the black powder. But I guess I wasn't quite expecting to have THAT much more. Holy smokes... And funny as heck, if a little frightening, lol....
It was crazy loud. Louder than the tannerite one.
@@OrdnanceLab I believe that. It was darn impressive, for sure.
Never play with flash powder! 1 gram can remove fingers. That was a kilo. The balls to mix up a kilo of flash, it takes giant ones. I know these guys know what they are doing, but that was very risky even for a pro.
@@american7169 Sound advice. Also, considering how easy FP is to make one would think we would hear of people blowing their hands off all the time, so maybe people are heading your advice already lol
Flash powder is alooooot more "explosive" compared to bp
ATF: "Did you buy any lawn gnomes lately?"
A random grandma:
I can't believe neither of you guys yelled, "Fire in the gnome!"
The ATF is a lot of things BUT our friends are not one ….. JS 😂
They're obviously blowing them at every given opportunity.
Always call them the BATFE. They soooo want to be like the 'cool' three letter agencies...but they are not.
A tannerite filled stuffed dog would be interesting as an ATF present
So we are working on that idea for a video.
With a motion detecting bark recording
Use the 22 sensitive taneright , since most cops carry 9 mm pistols and not rifles .
Fedz are now tracking garden gnome purchases...
Age requirements, must be over 70 to purchase
flash powder always amazes me, best mixture energetic because it doesnt need a blasting cap and can just take a fuse or ematch, aside from most types having impact/friction sensitivity
Definitely not something to play with that is for sure.
YES EXPLOSIVE GNOMES! What mischievous and whimsical creatures! If I died to an explosive garden gnome I would not be upset
Another meme that was willed into existence...praise kek!
i was actually thinking of modeling hollow ceramic gnomes with rifles and military themed outfits. make a platoon of limited edition gnome warriors.
Awwww yeah, don't let our memes be dreams.

One more reason to Shoot First, Ask Questions Later when you see a garden gnome!!!🤣🤣🤣
What did we learn!?! Like always we learned that explosives are fun!
When used properly, etc, etc.
All I'm gonna say is that a Roomba can hold around 1lb of Tannerite in it's dust collector bin.
Just wanted to point that out, as a totally random fact.

Set up a Poutine mine that covers them in fries and gravy. That’ll give y’all extra time to get away. 🤣
I really love how YT is deleting comments on my own channel.
But it was hilarious we got booted from just about every sub reddit on arms and explosives. One guy in a gun sub reddit got so mad and personally saw to it we got banned there. All because we didn't give tribute to the creator of the boomba roomba meme. LOL.
Anyways, what else do people want to see blow up? Leave a comment and we shall try and make it happen!
Tannerite pool noodle breaching device would be possibly interesting
Or like PVC pipe or something
@@jarethhogan3274 It's so crazy it just might work. I'll add it to the list.
Breaching charges with flash and BP and water bags would be interesting.
I'm guessing that you can't have a foray into traps ect.

Field expedient trenching charges.
The barracks buster
The Roman mine where you dig a hole in the ground add a charge in the bottom and add stones or metal. I'd be curious to see if they can be directed.
An experiment to see how much explosive it takes to punch a hole in ar500 steel without an EFP .

This goes nicely with my fire sprinklers.

I honestly want to put a number of gnomes on either side of the drive way with yellow rope connecting them all for the lolz. Bonus points if i can find them with battle paint.

Hopefully, some of our other jobs pan out and we can spend more money to expand the channel. The fire really did set us back about 2-3 years. We had a lot of stuff lost that we needed to make better videos.
That quadruple gnome IED definitely got my sub
I wonder what would happen if you cast your own gnomes out of metal and filled them?
Would work way better. Jake is working on building a metal melting furnace. His last one broke so he is making a bigger one that can get hotter.
@@OrdnanceLab if you have a 3d printer can do some quick and dirty lost pla casting, would be neat. would you cast iron or aluminum?

The Flash Powder gnome was pretty impressive.
There are no friends at the ATF.

excellent!
Coat the inside with glue, fill with ball bearing, pour out the non stuck ones when dry… THEN add explosives
Yesssss, i've been looking forwards to this :DDDD
my question is how close can containers of Tannerite be with out them being at risk of being "chain" detonated by shrapnel or the concussive force
Depends. especially if there is shrapnel involved.
As long as none of the shrapnel is above the velocity/weight thresholds that will set of the binary you could probably get the quite close.
Gnome Ring of Doom was the name of a black metal band I used to play in. Lol great video as always!🤘
You must of been in the band @ogdangershow

Gnome goes BOOOOM? I LOVE IT!!! LOL
Would be interested in seeing a part 2 with larger ceramic gnomes to see how they do. I remember growing up with several like 2-3 foot ceramic gnomes that had to be replaced several times from rouge baseballs and dogs knocking them over and stuff. The things were like an inch thick and had plenty of hollow room in the inside for things. Would be interesting to see the how the difference in size and material works in the fragmentation. I know yes more boom and frag from bigger size but like how would the heavy duty ceramic react to it and would to be better or worse at containing the explosion and how would it disperse frag. They could have been thin cast mortar or cement too I'm not sure but it felt like and broke like a ceramic of some sort or cement. Dont know if they make them anymore as they were my grandmothers and this was the 80s but would be interesting to test on.
OMG that Megatron T-Shirt is awesome !!!
Now, put tatp in one of the gnomes, nothings going to survive that.
