    I own a tree company and value the advice and real world examples i can get from this channel. Plus i enjoy Richards no bs attitude. He presents the facts and leaves it up to a guy to make his own mind up. Richard, you're doing a great job keep it up. Thanks

    I am by no means brand loyal, but these new saws always seem to need some sort of upgrade. $1500 for a 500i and I see people installing aftermarket suspension kits if using a long bar, issues with air filter seal, MS400 needs upgraded oil pump for a bar longer than 20“. The Chinese clones look better everyday. Great video!👍

      I solved my 400 oiling issues by going to a little thinner oil. Project Farm tested bar oil and sold me on Harvest King, $9 a gallon. I’m constantly burying my 25” bar in big oak and pine with no issues at all. It’s not going to drip off the chain or fling but it has an obvious coating. My nerves were shot trying to figure it out but I’m ok now. As far as all the upgrades most times it’s just people see other people with it and got to have it. Like 4 wheel drive trucks where 95% of the shit people put on them is senseless to me and the truck never hits any mud.

      Clone saws aren’t the quality as a stihl or husky , but there 1/4 of the price lol they shouldn’t be …. But you can buy one and put a lil money in one n have a real nice saw imo…. Using it everyday 🤔 maybe not , good lil firewood saw fs 👌🏻🤘🏼

      Im not sure what happened with the 400’s. I bought one nearly when they First came out. I’ve been running a 25 on mine since and it’s never skipped a beat. I have contemplated the oiler upgrade and throwing a 28 on it though.

    I loved your 2 stroke oil series. You ever thought of comparing filter oils? I know there’s many out there just like mix oil. Belray, maxima, klotz, motul, liquimoly etc. the list goes on. I’d love to see a comparison!

    Bel Ray foam filter cleaner works fairly well to break down the sticky Bel Ray oil but I still use soap & hot water afterwards to clean my max flow's.

    I appreciate the videos with the tips and information about working on saws, like brake clean and compressed air the spark plug boot or compressed air the tank. Appreciate your time.
    I have found the spray oils for air filters to be junk. Wish someone told me to just use bottled oil. Belroy seems thicker than the Uni.

    I just use big zip lock bag and pour 2 ounces of uni oil from gordy in it and rub it all over filters then squeeze thrm out but generally slightly over oil them it will drip off . Better than under oiling

      My regional Stihl rep loaded it on to my laptop. What I have is a non-dealer version. Start with your local dealer and see if they can reach out to the regional rep or try Stihl directly in Virginia. The book mark says SSO home page.

    I'm not buying into that 80:1 mix.It's too lean. I would like to try AMSoil but they want almost 40 buck for a bottle of oil and that's with 10.00 bucks shipping so I will pass. I will stick with RedArmor at 40:1. I like nice and safe for my 1500 dollar saw. I just picked up a 201T and I'm breaking it in at 40:1 right now. I'm also 900 bucks poorer.

    • @dooflicker1
      @dooflicker1 8 месяцев назад +2

      $40 a bottle? Nope! 😂 More like $13.29 a quart through their preferred account plus shipping unless you live close. I order when they run their free shipping campaigns on orders of $75 or more.

    • @richardflagg3084
      @richardflagg3084  8 месяцев назад +4

      Nothing wrong with RA. Saber is a good bit better. Shop it around or buy direct. Most dealers will sell it at MSRP which should put it around $14ish/qt (32oz). That's half the cost of the RA in the 16oz squeeze bottle.

      Here's the problem with AMSOIL as far as online sales go. If you find a bottle of any type of AMSOIL going for crazy amounts of money it's because the vendor who's selling it isn't a registered and licensed dealer for AMSOIL. They're buying it directly from AMSOIL's own retail web-store on their website and the vendor is charging double of what they paid for it to make a profit because they're not legally licensed to sell AMSOIL products online.
      I looked into becoming an AMSOIL dealer myself and I'd still like to in the future. But in their info for what you can and can't do when it comes to selling their oil as a dealer you CANNOT sell it online. That is part of your agreement when becoming a dealer. As a dealer you are given a link that has your business name attached to it and shows what products of AMSOIL's that you're selling to the customer. It then directs the customer to AMSOIL's own web store so they can order whichever product it is they're wanting from you and you are given a commission for the online sales. They do it that way so it's easy for you to make money from online sales without having to ship it out yourself.
      As far as keeping your own store stock you're pretty much free to charge whatever you want for it as long as it's not the same amount as what you paid for it at dealer price.
      Long story short, DON'T buy AMSOIL from Amazon. Any and all vendors on there are selling it illegally and are charging ridiculous amounts for it. If you want to try AMSOIL go directly to their website and buy it from them. They even offer a yearly membership for $20 that gives a discount on whatever it is you're buying.

    • @Slane583
      @Slane583 8 месяцев назад

      @@richardflagg3084 I've found vendors on Amazon selling AMSOIL Signature 5W-30 in a gallon for $80. Then they want another $20 or $30 for shipping. I know why they're charging that much for it. It's because they're selling it illegally. They're buying it from AMSOIL as a normal customer and then re-selling it on their Amazon store front for three times the cost hoping to get some bum with more money than brains to pay their price.
      I've read through AMSOIL's agreement terms for becoming a licensed dealer, which I plan to do in the near future and it says any private dealer IS NOT allowed to sell AMSOIL products online. That's why licensed dealers are assigned their own web link by AMSOIL. You get a commission for all customers who click on your business link that leads them directly to AMSOIL's own web-store. It's to make the E-Commerce side of it easier for small dealers who don't have the resources for managing all of that. AMSOIL does all the heavy lifting as far as selling and shipping to the customer and you get paid for sending customers their way. :)
