Kurt old buddy, what a GR8 way to get 2Q2Q started, that VA 1/2 penny is a great looker. The 2c was even better, WOW, just awesome even working thru the trash. The Stirrup to me reminds me of an English riding saddle stirrup, might be wrong but thats what I think it might be. I found a silver thimble just like that about ten days ago! Same design around the bottom, the number 5, and mine had three script initials, E L H. Not bent or damaged! Congrats on yours Kurt 👍🏽

I love digging firsts, once you start you can’t stop. My first silver this year was a holed 1743 1/2 reale and a 1724 quarter cut 2 reale. But that was a nice silver button and VA 1/2, congrats on the new year finds!
I am green with envy with their lifestyle ... so much fun!! These guys are so lucky to live in an are where you can find such things. I used to live in Connecticut and I remember finding a copper as a kid, 1786, and could barely make it the silhouette but it turned out to be one of those coopers the boys be finding on a regular basis. Love this stuff . If I'm not detecting or spending time with my kid I'm fixated on what the next find is gonna be. So addictive.. love it!!
