Top 10 Anime Spinoffs #1 GFM Guitar Hero DS
Tiago Pereira dos Santos Silva I completely agree with your cause, but please take this elsewhere
Tiago Pereira dos Santos Silva What the fuck
oh boy back to the roots
This is suitable April fool video. It's an actual video not some joke silly video contrasting with the main channel. It's a Throw back. Keep it up man. And thank you
Oh man I remember kids in my school going around with this like they were the coolest kids in the school...
They were the coolest in the school
I was one of those keeds.. Rocking during lunch time.
Ok, I really love how you used you're old intro and how you're in your old recording room!
Loved this return to the roots.
izzynobre ora ora quem está por aqui
Por essa eu não esperava.
Por essa eu não esperava/2
Holy shit I was waiting for someone to talk about this game. It worked surprisingly well and was quite fun.
The GamerFromMars, actually talking about a game. What is this madness?!
April FOOLS lol
Sick intro I missed that song
I see this everywhere I go. Goodwill retro game stores 2nd hand stores
you have no idea how nostalgic that into is for me
My friend brought a ds to high school in 09 my senior year with this game and accessory . I remember the cramping like it was yesterday good times
Jokes aside, the fact that GFM recreated his old format down to the intro and background was a genuine treat for a long time subscriber like myself. This made my day :)
I remember playing this when I was younger. My hands were smaller and wouldn't cramp at all. So would I recommend this game? YES! You forgot to mention the 2 player vs mode as well. It was super fun!
I remember playing a version in High School from a friend and playing "Stray Cat Strut"
Remember The Gamer From Jupiter? Well sadly he got hit by bus quite a while ago. He didn't survive.
Gamer from mars is covering games?!?!
I love the Pony Tones. Are y'all going on tour soon?
Just missed it, There's a cool photo of it here (assasinmonkey.deviantart.com/art/Tones-of-Ponies-434485810) I'll try keep tickets for you for the next tour ;)
The Pony tones Please and thank you
Feels like I'm back in 2009 with your classic intro and format

Todo Warcraft dame tu corazón tío Warcraft
Anthony C this is so sad can we hit w O me N
my name is Tito guarcra :v
so funny lol 😂👌😂👌😂👌
Have you considered occasionally doing these type of videos? I legitimately liked this.
I could play All the Small Things expert mode All Perfect without looking at it. That's how much I loved the song way back in the day 😂
I just got this off of eBay and played for an hour straight and had absolutely no pain or discomfort. It's all about simply holding the console in a certain manner. Anybody who doesn't try this game is really missing out as it's amazing
You're one of the lucky ones
I think the issue is hand size. You must have small hands lol. I recall it not being so bad when I was younger and of course, smaller.
I actually remember really liking On Tour and On Tour Decades. Yes the cramping was a problem, but it never got in the way of my spending a lot of time playing these games. If my memory is right, I believe these two have my favorite song listings out of the GH games I played (which were 2, 3, World Tour, 5, and obviously the DS ones mentioned earlier).
At least with the DS Rock Band games, they don't use an accessory but instead play more like Amplitude, which is another one of their IPs.
Cyberbrickmaster1986 Essentially the same model for Rock Band Unplugged for PSP.
God, it has been quite some time since you used this area and intro in videos, reminds me of when I watched you years ago before taking a break for a few years, love to see the return to a more memorable and nostalgic Gamer From Mars, thanks for this.
Nice change of pace man!
Oh hey I remember this game! This is the game I used to be able to play until I put the my DS cover in and since the Guitar Strip got blocked from the cover I was never able to take it out so I wasn't able to play this game ever again! Good Times.
I was confused by the title and even more at the start of the video and then it hit me, you're actually doing a game review! As someone who hasn't been subscribed long enough to remember these it was hella interesting and funny, and sure enough your pinned comment was the thought going through my head.
If you ever get tired of the other formats you can certainly throw in some these, it might even be fun.
I used to play this game for hours, my hand would cramp but honestly back then I really didn’t care and powered through because it was so fun.
Dude, I loved this game when I was a kid. I wish I could still play it 😭
You know, I'm glad to see a comeback. I welcome the newer videos about RUclipsrs and the internet but going back to your roots once in a while is a breath of fresh air. Was it like that for you too or have you truly moved on?
Christopher Szabo It was uploaded on April 1st so I think it was meant to be a subtitle joke so I doubt he will start doing there again on a regular basis.
Mr. JH I know it's an April Fools joke, I'm just saying I welcome the style.
"What happened to Guitar Hero?"
Sabuuchi. It went live
The trend of rhythm games ended.
I was just thinking about this yesterday. I have the special edition which was just a DS lite with a Guitar Hero logo on it. It's so scratched up lol
man, I got amazing at this. I could play every song on all 3 games on expert
the pain goes away after a while btw.
There was actually a third follow-up: Band Hero. The Guitar and Bass used the grip, while the drums used the buttons. You could even sing with it using the mic. BH also works on the 3DS/DSi, but you can only play drums/vocals.
Also didn’t have nearly as good a soundtrack, with mostly pop stuff like the console versions.
There's actually 26 songs the final song is unlocked after going through duel mode the song is titled I am not your Gameboy by freezepop
It’s about time you uploaded a game review!!
I like how you have your equipment in the description. Good video again
I was like YES GFM IS BACK (even though i really like the new content too), and then I saw the date. Maybe we can get one new episode a year? :o
I can usually play up to 30 mins or so at a time. I don't notice the discomfort immediately. I play on tour decades which is really fun. Satch Boogie is near impossible.
damn, this is a real blast of nostalgia
I loved the shit out of this game when I was a kid
there use to be a rumor that you could unlock master of puppets lmao it absolutely made me go nuts
thegamerfrommars is coming back, so does this mean TheGamerFromJupitar is coming back
Oh hell yeah this was 7 year old me building up my love for this game, still love it to this day
I remember playing that game lot when I had a ds. Although I've never had any cramps while playing. That game is also what got me really into Ozzy Osbourne.
Actually no! I completely forgot it until you posted this, thank you 😂😂
Do i remember? I still play it from time to time. It made me really like the DS and wanted to see more peripherals that use the ds cart and gba cart combo. Everyone of my friends came over to play and jam outside and pass it around after every song. This was the shit with amazing music.
The great thing about cartridge systems is that you can add new hardware on and memory modules and such. My last console was the N64. Loved that beast. And I remember the cameboy advance with a camera and printer accessory, that was great fun and amazing to fit in the small size for the time before there were even smartphone's around.
YO THE CLASSIC INTRO!!! :D I HAVE BEEN WATCHING YOU FOR YEARS! love the new content, you are hilariously neutral
I never had any issues with the Guitar hero for DS. I was able to play for a good 2 - 3 hours without pain. it might be practice and being use to the position. I used to play guitar and electric bass a lot.
One of my first DS games and something I played for hours on end every day. Took a long time to realise it came with a plectrum..
I have em all the GH on tour series and a DS with the grip. Well sometimes it hurts but not lots once you get used to it
I was literally obsessed with these as a kid. All the guitar hero ds games I could finish every song on expert without missing a note. Except the one satriani song
“The gameboy advanced slot”
I’m lost
Man this takes me back. Do more of these videos!
i never got into guitar hero and i can't stand guitars in general but their ambition to recreate the experience on a completely different and small device cannot go without unnoticed
I actually really enjoyed this game back in the day a lot
Funny how on rock band 3 and lego rock band ds used the D pad and a x y and b buttons to play.
Remember when you used to upload videos like this, love it.
I have been watching you since your history of Sega video and I have never noticed I wasn't subscribed to you yet I see your videos all the time :D
I used to play this so much when I was little
I like that you brought back some off the old stuff
using only your thumb in the strap is pretty comfy, game even says to try that to free up your hand/fingers, no more cramping!
I remember playing this as a kid. But as a kid my hands were so much smaller and the grip fit my hand perfectly with no cramps.
Man that intro.. what a blast from the past
I actually found the On Tour series to have been the best handheld rhythm game series ever! I played for many, many half-hour periods at a time in the late 2000s. I never saw the occasional discomfort as a huge drawback, weirdly enough.
This takes me back to when i used to watch you in like 2012
I actually liked the Guitar hero games on the DS lol. It was the only alternative between that or going to my mall to use the machine in the arcade since I didn't own a set at home. I still play it every now and again when I'm bored xD
i love these videos so much? you should really make more of these!!
Glad to see gaming related stuff come back, despite the release date of the video.
The only thing I know about this game was the weird accessory and the song 'In The Shadows' by The Rasmus (my all-time favourite song) was in the game
I had this game at one point, I bought it at a yard sale after the ds started losing it's popularity. What I remember most was I had to push down really hard for the device to stay connected and register my button presses. I don't know if the one I got was just defective, or if that was just how it was.
Honestly would have been more ergonomic and less cramped if they put the buttons on the side of the back so your hand could just lay flat against them.. coulda had more space for the extra button as wel
So I literally have mine signed by David Nathaniel from Vicarious Visions, he told me you can take the grip apart and change the custom insert, I had no idea and he ended up signing both inserts, lol
I had this game when I was a kid. I don't actually remember the cramping. To me it was always a pretty solid badass game
I loved Guitar Hero DS!! I must've rented that game from our local Blockbuster a dozen times before I ended up buying it.
I never had cramping issues as I'm very flexible, so I actually had no idea that it was uncomfortable until this video!
Now this... this was a nice trip down memory lane
I know, its just for April fools, but i really enjoyed this short little game review. If you would do some more between your regular "what happened to..." series, it would give some more variety to your channel.
Nostalgic flare, this April fools day joke was my favorite this year.
Now i wanna break out Guitar Hero on tour and play. Too many fun times with that game.
I don't remember the controller being that hard on my wrist as a kid. I'd play it a ton when on road trips and I'm sure it hurt after a while but I know I got more than 15 mins at a time out of it.
Man that takes me back
This is a throwback I miss these
I remember seeing this at target back then and I wanted it. Years later. I still don’t have it...
YOOO I USED TO OWN THIS
it came with easy-peel vinyl stickers you could put on your guitar attachment.... they were sick but nobody sees it if you're playing
It probably would've given me early carpal tunnel more easily than drawing though
I sold it, but never saw it again
On second opinion I used to have this game as a kid and played it for hours on end, didnt have much wrist pain and if I did I think I was having too much fun to notice
We need more Game From Mars videos like this
I actually still have a guitar hero edition ds with all three guitar hero games in a cupboard somewhere, it’s kinda fun to play but the buttons are too close together and unless you have tiny alien fingers it can be difficult to reach and press the button you want
Hey i recently sold that game. I booted it up for a quick round of All Star, but halfway through i felt my knuckles and wrist protest, it seriously hurts to play even one song if your hands aren't small.
Also, All Star but it's a charted on Guitar Hero for the Nintendo DS
It's so weird seeing the old GamerFromMars room again in a new video
I actually really enjoyed this, made me miss your old content,,,
Dude I play on Expert on this game (thx childhood experience xD) and trust me you become used to the gameplay, it's not uncomfortable anymore after a few hours of play in total
I think I still have this somewhere. Now I know that All Star is on it, I want to try it again.
so glad you reviewed a video game! love the content either way!
Finally, the reason I subbed to this channel in the first place! Never go back to youtube drama, no matter how popular it makes you.
Could never understand why the didn't have a lead coming from the device to connect to the DS. They could have the lead going to the device as was in one hand and a strummer on a separate wire going to the other hand. Yes you would need a surface to put the DS on (which for a hand held may seem odd) but at least it would have been playable.
I have the game and I have to say for me it isn't uncomfortable at all, I can play it for hours without making a break. Maybe it does depend on hand size, but I still won't doubt that it can be inconvenient, if even the developers include that warning.
95 cents .. each game ... IM 33 and I still rock these! Portable speaker and all!!
