  • Easy Cendol drink recipe, a vegan dessert that is typically found in South East Asia especially Malaysia
    www.nyonyacook...
'Cendol' or rice flour jelly drink with coconut milk is a sweet and refreshing dessert popular in Malaysia. It has been declared a Malaysian heritage food by the Malaysian Department of National Heritage. The ingredients consists mainly of green rice flour jelly, palm sugar and coconut milk. It is sold by vendors at roadsides, hawker centres and food courts. It doubles up as a delicious thirst quencher especially on days when the weather is scorching hot.
The combination of the palm sugar along with the coconut milk blends perfectly. These days, the addition of cream corn and kidney beans adds some texture to this amazing drink. In this recipe, glutinous rice is also added to further enhance the taste. You may omit the accompaniments if you love it authentic and simple.
For a lighter version, the thickness of the coconut milk may be diluted according to your preference.

a little bit different from Indonesian cendol. it only cendol, brown sugar (not too watery like what in your vid), coconut milk and ice. and we usually have a mold for make it.
in Indonesia we called it Es Campur (ice with some mixed ingredients) like grassjelly, corn, jackfruit, black/white glutinous rice, fermented cassava (tape), brown sugar, coconut milk etc

You can just use rice flour but i find that too hard and it breaks easily. If you don't have pandan leaves, try looking for pandan extract or else you will just have white strands of cendol :P

Actually this is not call chendol coz authentic chendol in singapore n malaysia has only gula melaka cocnut milk n the green stuff that is what u call chendol but in malaysia some chendol stall add sticly rice to it which is delicous... This is what u call Ice Kachang which have all the above stuff....

Thanks for your comment. Combining 150ml pandan water with the different types of flour makes up a fluid mixture. Cooking it at low heat with lots patience gives the glossy consistency that is show in the video. Please do try again with low heat. Cheers!
