    ❓❓❓Can I store the laksa paste? What about substitute ingredients as I don't live close to an Asian grocer? How do I get the best flavours of the broth? Can I just use chicken as the base of the broth? How can I make vegetarian laksa? Yep! I never knew coconut could be combined with Chilli like that. I add peanut Chilli oil to amp up the heat but it is a beautiful dish regardless.

    Thankyou so much for taking the time to show us how a a real authentic laksa variation is made! There are so many terrible videos claiming that their recipe is an authentic laksa with most of them using some kind of mass produced 'laksa paste' from the super-market. Most of which contain 621, 622, and 623 flavour enhancers. Your recipe looks fresh and vibrant and I am heading straight to the kitchen to make it for dinner. Thankyou for the inspiration and education.

    Thank you so much for sharing your yummy recipes!! I'm currently battling terminal cancer, and the only thing I crave are Malay dishes. Especially Laksa. I lived in Sydney, where I had Laksa everyday for lunch, I then lived in London, where I didn't have it for a long time, and now I live in the US, and am craving it again. My husband has gone to buy all the ingredients at an Asian Supermarket. Your instructions are so clear, I really appreciate the effort you have put into making these videos. Thank you

    Hi Grace,
    Thank you so much for this recipe! I made it yesterday and it was delicious :)
    Two questions though:
    1) I found I had to add some sugar to make the sweetness of the soup a bit more pronounced. Where does the sweetness in your laksa come from so I can try that next time?
    2) The noodles tasted a little bit bland while they are usually the favorite part of the laksas I eat... What can I do to really let them soak up all the flavors better?
    Thanks!

    I finally made this recipe. I grew daun kesum in my garden just for this purpose. I served it to my friends and partner and they loved it. I will be making it again! One question: How can I grind the lemon grass and galangal more finely. My blender has trouble with that.

    • @nyonyacooking
      @nyonyacooking  9 лет назад

      +Spencer Kieft I am using a food processor and it works better than a blender. I would assume that the hand mixer would do the trick too!

  • @nivlaclimfc
    @nivlaclimfc 8 лет назад +1

    Awesome recipe! I tried making it few days ago and find that the large amount of blended spices make the final broth a bit on the thick/grainy side rather than more "soupy". I'm just wondering, is it common practice to drain the broth through a sieve to remove the grains from all the blended spices? Based on my Google search of various laksa recipes, practically none of the recipes suggest draining the broth through a sieve.
