Say what you will about these movies. I love the fact that they actually managed to get ALL the 1980's/1990's action heroes in on this. It's such glorious over the top 1980's style cheesy action. One giant wink from these guys to their audience.
That's the huge draw of these movies. Definitely not the plot.

# 30 sin. Every 5th round is a tracer round. So every round you see glowing there is 4 rounds fired in between them.
I agree. The biggest sin of this movie is that it did not cast the next generation of action movie stars for the young crew. Cast Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, or Chris Pine...pretty much, anyone named Chris...but not this crew. Also, throw in another sin for not bringing Chuck Norris back and giving him an actual martial arts scene instead of just shooting guns.
You can't have Chuck Norris tho. Haha! When he shows up it's game over.

Hemsworth's brother was already in the series...i guess that could be incentive but also a deterrent for that one. And really Hemsworth and Pratt are the only true action star Chrises... (Evans and Pine either haven't been major action guys or have branched out more). Could maybe try someone like Sam Worthington and the Rock for it.
An older action star they haven't cast either is Samuel Jackson....

Under-utilizing Wesley Snipes is a humongous sin.
Also, I loved the Demolition Man and Assassins references at the end of the vid. Two of my favorite movies, and the onscreen reunions were definitely high points 😁

3:53 well that's because the bullets you see are tracer rounds which are every 5th or 10th bullet in the belt or magazine

Normally, you put 1 tracer every 3-8 shots so that the gunner can see where he is shooting. Typically the loadout is the 8th round, at least in the American Armed Forces.

as a tank person I can honestly say that there are so few tank scenes in movies that it's always welcome to see a tank do ANYTHING at all in a movie
The last tank I saw do something shot at Cleveland's house, "no no No NO NOO!!"

And HE ammo going off actually looked like HE ammo going off for once. Usually it looks like a jerry can full of gas exploded with massive fireball in movies (Transformers, lmao).
The first two was always be the best...but 3rd one does have some good moments
Biggest sin in this movie was taking Terry out early. Spent the whole rest of the movie expecting him to show up. Banderas was lots of fun as always though

Forget The Godfather parts one and two, Citizen Kane, Casablanca, On the Waterfront, and 10,000 other films: Sly Stallone, one of the worst actors of all time, has made the near-perfect film with only one flaw. Apparently, Daryl, you have unearthed the secret to great filmmaking.
I think the "I am the haag" line was supposed to be a reference to the "I am the law" line from Judge Dread.

I was a part of the film crew, it was filmed in Bulgaria and it was a shit ton of fun.

About the sin at 18.06, *"Did he just... leave his knife in that guy?"* ... well yes, it wasn't Christmas' knife, it's was Krug's.
Krug is Stonebanks bigass henchman played by Ivan "Rampage" Kostadinov, who also played an henchman of Jean Vilain in Expendables 2.
You could see that huge knife/brass-knuckle combo hanging from Krug's side during the movie, and he finally used it during his big fight with Statham.
The biggest sin: Making this movie PG-13.
Based on the writing i don’t know if an R rating would have saved this movie
@@TravisHouze I don’t care. Don’t go in an Expendables movie expecting it to be like Mad Max: Fury Road, John Wick, or Top Gun: Maverick. Think of it more like an R-rated Fast & Furious movie.

@@leonpaelinck Yes, they are, which is why the fourth and perhaps final will be going back to basics by making it R-rated. But trust me, the CGI blood and gore was present in those movies too.

About every 5 rounds is actually a tracer round, so the bullets could be zipping through the Bodies, and you are just following the tracers.
Also at 0:27 when CinemaSins talks about the platform on either side of the track you will see that the track is missing its rail on one side (The "bottom" one) 😂

3:50 thats actually realistic. there tracers that fire every 5 rounds. So for every tracer we see theres another 4 bullets you dont see. The lack of body parts being ripped apart tho no so much.
While the pg-13 rating took away from the absolute carnage we could have had, it still had fun action scenes

4:00 I've served in the Swiss army and our standard was that every 5th round was a tracer and the rest normal ones. So you might really not see the people being shot (or only 20%)

that is honestly about half of the sins I was expecting for this film.
Sin 30: I'm no military guy, but my understanding is that the bright ones you can see are flaming tracer bullets, and are always a small percentage of the bullets - like 1 in every 10 bullets or 1 in 20. Meaning you can't see MOST of the bullets. Slow it down all you want, the idea is THOSE bullets are the ones hitting. :)

3:52 The bullets are unlikely to all be tracers, that minigun is fiering thousands of rounds per minute, so not all the bullets are visible. Though the drop of blood point is still valid.
Oh, far out. Out of sheer Nothing Else On, I checked out the Expendable series a couple weeks ago (well, mostly skipped through) and was bummed not to have my CinemaSins on #3. When you're firing a large enough cartridge. Passing close to the human head is enough to cause death due to the pressure wave, resulting in bleeding of the brain.
I love the movie. I loved it since first watch. But important to note is that I don't have any nostalgia for the 70s / 80s or 90s action movies. I still manage to like the first and second Expendables movie as well. Side note, 2014 was a big year for Kelsey Grammer and his appearance in sequels, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Transformers 4, The Expendables 3, Think like a Man Too and others

To anyone (this totally would have included me a year ago). They are sinning the Unrated Version. Hence (if you're like me) you may see bits of scenes and dialogue that is not in the Theatrical Version.
You do know that the light streaks are most likely phosphor-tipped tracing bullets meant to guide the shooter's aim, and not the only bullets flying, right? Just because the tracing bullets don't hit anyone, it doesn't mean the non-tracer bullets (i.e. "normal" bullets) also miss.
Wesley Snipes is a legend and he came into the franchise at the right time

And I've always wondered why, if Stonebanks (Gibson) shoots someone to get back at Barney (Stallone); why did he chose "the huge black guy", when the little white guy(Statham) is his best friend. Hmmm!

I have not seen any of the "Expendables" films, but it definitely seems like the whole "let's get absolutely every 80's action star into this thing and just turn the cameras on. Also, don't furrgedd dee 'splosions!" :) This is... fine, but also... this is NOT fine because everyone would do better to just watch "Airforce One" or "Rocky" or "Universal Soldier", or "LIONHEART"! Yeah. Especially "Lionheart". Best JCVD film ever.

Stallone wanted to continue the franchise, EX4 was an on again off again project, and the script got passed around quite a bit- so it wasn't just an 'out of the blue' thing :)

SO, fun fact about aviation and particularly Kerosin.
Open fire and smoking is prohibited, sure. But it's not actually such a big deal. For Kerosene to catch fire it takes a decent amount of heat. Yes, it's flashpoint is "only" 38 °C (100 °F) but for it to actually ignite and keep burning you have to keep that heat on it for quite a while as it's auto ignition point is only 210 °C (410 °F). So a cigarette will just drown in it, or produce a small puff. It's the Kerosene vapors that easily ignite but even those aren't that volatile.
The safety precautions are there for the "what if" case as aviation is very focused on not damaging anything.
Just for reference, Gasoline's flashpoint is -49°F (or -45 °C).
What I'm saying: Smoking in a Hangar isn't as big of a danger source as you might think.
