This is Why I Love Greece (and Keep Coming Back)
What I like about Greece is it feels so relaxing and safe there. The locals are so nice.
Yeah Greeks are one of the friendliest people I meet they will always have a place in my heart
@@Friendlyneighborhoodguy Thats so nice to hear. Have you visited Crete?
Being much relaxed increases your lifespan as well. Ofc mostly the diet. There's a video on youtube about Ikaria island which has one or maybe the longest lifespan per person in the world

By far my favorite place I've visited. I've been to a few different countries but I always think of Greece as my most memorable and enjoyable. I haven't had that feeling with any other country

Love Greece, every year we go to the greek island Skopelos,
probabbly too expensive choice I think...
I love Skopelos but neighboring Alonissos is my fav quiet island with spectacular beaches.
My favorite in this corner of Greece is the peninsula of Pilion nearby the city of Volos. Just fantastic!
We have traveled all over the world too and Greece also holds a special place in our hearts. The islands are definitely a place one could retire too! By the way, Crete is our favourite.

Greetings from Paris 👋
In love with the USA ..
This post is really convincing me to go to Greece.
Just came back from Kos, Rhodes, Nisyros and Symi. Completely in love with the Dodecanese!!
I'm sure you are going to also like Sporades, Cyclades and Eptanisa. They are all special island complexes with particular characteristics and love them all with their uniqueness.
Next time visit astypalaia arki agathonisi Patmos also in Dodecanese
I am so proud to be of Greek ancestry ( on my mother's side ).
Greek islands is the best place for vacation in Europe !
How in the world just the islands. Greece is heaven because of all of Greece spectacular beauties and diversity. That means it's 6000 islands and its mainland which accounts for 81.8% of the total land surface.
I love Greece because of it's 80% mountains, 6000 islands and equally breathing mainland,it's nature, the highest biodiversity of Europe and 32% of forests layering over Greece's landscapes and mountains. It's 16.000 km of crystal clear seas, it's incredible culture, unparalleled history, heavenly food and so much more.
*Talking about Greece's islands only is a great Injustice.*
Tell me if you can find other Epirus on the islands. Or the Athos holy peninsula, or the pindus mountains, or the rhodope mountains, or Halkidiki or Pelion or Peloponnese and so on and so on and so on the islands. You don't. It's that combination together that makes Greece feel like an entire continent inside a single country, which on worldscale is only 132.000km2 in surface area but packs a diversity of beauties of countries 10-90x the size of Greece. It means that Greece has tremendous beauty and the density of these beauties are off the scale
@shaun king They are certainly. Do you know any other place in Europe with 6000 islands? Each unique and overblown with spectacular natural beauty? Perfect climate, incredibly diverse in history, culture, traditions and so on. No because there is no other country in Europe that has that.
And again. Those are just the 6000 islands. Greece's biggest gems are the mainland and it's 80% mountains throughout the country, offering spectacular scenery wherever you go among endless other things.
@shaun king everyone can like something. Sure. But you talk about islands, and Greece's islands blow the rest of Europe out of the water. It doesn't mean there aren't other European islands that are beautiful. There are plenty. However. Greece by far takes the cake, in beauty and diversity in endless ways.there is a island for everyone.
And in total I find Italy and Greece to be the most beautiful countries in the world. For clear reasons. They both pack so much beauty. What other nations have such a wonderful combination of 65-80% mountains, 7500-16.000 km of crystal clear coastlines, unparalleled history, incredible culture, heavenly food, perfect climate, the biggest biodiversity of Europe, extremely rich in traditions, breathtaking landscapes, islands, geological paradises and so much more in a kaleidoscope of layering interwoven into each other. They're extremely diverse, and Greece above all has an extremely diverse topography and geography and combine that with it's 80% mountains wherever you stand in the country you have spectacular views all around.
And both Greece and Italy also have the most Ultra peak mountains in Europe. Significantly more than Switzerland and Austria. Ultra peak mountains are mountains that rising more than 1500 meter above it's lowest surrounding region and is a definition for how impressive a mountain is and it's views are.
Switzerland for example has 8 ultra peak mountains, Austria 12, Greece 19 and Italy 20. Spain for example has 4 on mainland and France has 9
www.peaklist.org/WWmaps/euro1.gif
France I have been plenty times. Plenty. And does not even come close to the consistent beauty one has throughout the entire country of Greece and Italy. Much of France is flat and the same to begin with, and the almost only actual spectacular landscapes of France can be found a bit in the corners. The rest is comparably dull (The ultra prominence mountains map above also shows this where much of France is one big lump of similar terrain-ed body) .
And that is not to forget that French people are not even remotely close as hospitable and warm than the Greek people. Hence Italians and french often go to Greece for their holiday's.
And yes. You have your opinion. I have mine. At least I know by actually knowing all the countries in and out to why Greece has it all. The density of beauty in Greece and Italy is extremely high in many ways not seen in any other country in the planet.
For example. The magical combination mentioned above is very rare and only very few countries on the planet have that.
And out of these few countries, what is even more rare is that in Greece you can do all of these things on one day every single day. In Greece you can hike in the mountains in the morning, stumble upon hidden archaeological sites, end up at the sea and swim later on the day, refresh yourself and have incredible dinner while enjoying the sunset from a gorgeous picturesque town of village dotted around the land, mountains or coast.
In Greece you don't have to travel 1200 km for the first mountains or 1000 km for the first sea, or 800 km for a historic site. It's all around everywhere in every corner of the country.
And one of the many bonuses is that only in Greece you can stand on a coastline and have incredible views of mountains, islands and sea in a multitude of layers in front of you which makes sunsets even more special. In Spain or France for example the geography and topography Is very simple and one body., when you look towards the sea there is nothing there but sea. Nice and all, but in Greece every view can be very different and special.
@@Ptolemy336VV I absolutely agree with everything you said. Greece is magical

Are you sure that we love our country? We take it for granted unfortunately.

Gabriel could visit "Kavala" (Greek: Καβάλα; transl .: Kavála) is a port city of about 63,000 inhabitants, situated in Macedonia on the namesake bay near the island of Thasos. Kavala is the capital of the regional unit of Kavala. The city has a stadium called Anthi Karayanni Stadium. Thanks a lot

Great video Gabriel! I am Greek and I Iike so much the way you wander around Greece and the love you have for this country!
Greece indeed is a very generous and hospitable land to be! It's not only its natural beauty, climate, sunlight, diversity that makes it unique, it's also something about the aura, the energy that surrounds this place! It gives you a sense of freedom, it's like a nurturing source that awakens so many things inside you!
It is a crossroads for people all around the world to savor the extract of a many millennia civilization! And coming here - especially for a western man - is like going deeper to their cultural roots as Greece is well-known as the matrix of western civilization.
Since you have an Italian ancestry, you probably have a lot in common with the genetics of the local people of Greece because the ancient people of this land had created colonies in Italy and even southern France etc. Grecanics is a greek-italian dialect that is still spoken in certain Italian areas.
Looking forward to seeing what's coming next!

I enjoyed this video about Nisiros, as it's an island I never visited, also you walking round, exploring and getting lost, which is exactly what I used to do. For me there's an atmosphere on Greek islands of being totally alive, which is hard to put into words. When I lived in Athens I was taking trips to many islands and some of my favourite places are: Aegina, Siros, (birthplace of Markos Vamvakaris) Sifnos, Naxos, Ikaria and Leros. In the south Peloponnese I could also recommend Areopolis, Gythio and Monemvassia. These are remote, wild places with a flavour all of their own. Keep up the videos, good stuff.
I love Greece

You are very welcome to do so. The Aegean islands are inhabitant by Greeks for thousands of years. Millions of Greek were living in the east coast of the Aegean too from archeant times until 1922 when a war took place and we call it "Asia Minor catastrophe". That's the reason you may find in Turkey many "greek looking" archeant monuments.

Greece for ever, come to our Greek island Cyprus too
ruclips.net/video/jBwo4NlbjP8/видео.html
@@GabrielTravelerVideos you must know that our island is Greek for 3200 years like Crete. Turks came here with invation in 1571, they destroy everything and they occupied our island and they made us Greeks their slaves for 300 years. Then they sold our island to the English and then we made revolution against english and we were free at 1960 and we made a democracy, then at 1974 Turks came again with invation and they still occupie half of our land.
The "Turkish" of Cyprus are not Turkish. Half of them are settlers Turkey broughy after 1974 and the other half are ex-christians Cypriots who became muslims under ottoman occupation to live a better life and they lost thei identity and become Turkish through ottoman propaganda after so many years... its sad.. i hope one day we will be strong enough to destroy Turkish imperialism and sovinism and take our land back, we dont have anything against "Turkish" Cypriots, we never did any harm to them. :)
Thanks for visiting us
