Went on a solo trip to Santorini in September two years ago and had the most peaceful time. Explored the island at my own pace and didn't wait for anything. It wasn't overrated at all, and I'd love to go back again soon!

Unlike most countries...the capital isn't the best place to enjoy Greece. Gabriel's trips are a clear indication of that. Enjoy your visit however you choose though🙂

the frescos and objects missing from Akrotiri are displayed in the ultimate little Prehistoric Museum of Fira. Absolutely amazing! Also, next time, don't miss the Archaeological site of Ancient Thera. This is from the Classical era, different from the Bronze Age Akrotiri. Always something new to see on this blessed island.

Thank you for the reminder of the island on which we spent our vacation with my Greek friend.The sunsets in Fira/Thera/and the beach in Perissa were breathtaking.The arrival by ferry to the caldera is already a stunning experience!

Thank you for your video! Santorini is one of a kind. I have been there in the 80s and in the 90s, but I have never really visited all the places there. I prefer smaller and less crowded islands and so I usually avoid Santorini or Mykonos, but I liked very much your video and the hidden church is a gem. Kalo Taxidi to Italy, my country!!!

Just a suggestion when you film, slow down a bit, especially when you are showing a wall plaque. It's very hard to keep up with it. I miss a lot.
Yes I agree. Especially when he shows the ground very nauseous inducing on my big screen, the camera lens is too tight.
Also showing graffiti does not put a good light on Santorini.
@@clarkmadrosen1780 Yes. I think the dreaded graffiti disease already spread there from Athens. I also noticed that some walls in the other islands are starting to get vandalized, too. The local authorities need to do something about it. There's nothing "cool" about the graffiti. It's not "art", it's a sign of degeneration, a trait of people who are puerile.

We went to Santorini in 2021 just after Greece opened up after the pandemic and stayed in Kamari. It was surreal - there were so few people that we were the only patrons in the restaurant on two occasions and all the popular places were easily accessible. A wonderful place - we'll never see it like that again but I'd love to go back. Thanks for taking me back.

Been there when they had fireworks from the other island. Celebrating the creation of the islands. Forgot the name of the festival, but i found the place spectaculair and enjoyed it allot

Greece is a beautiful country with so many beautiful islands. Blue crystal clear water, nice sunshine, great foods and nice people. No wonder Gabriel went many times as he stated. One day, I will visit Antalya,,Istanbul and Greek Islands.

Do Rome and then go to Crete for a 1 month car explore. Believe me you will need that time to see 1/5 of that island even me that has been there +40 times find new things every time.
One of the memories that will be in you’re taste: I drove with my ex wife and 2 small children around Sitia and saw something on top of a mountain that looked interesting. I got the permission to drive there, 1 hour later I was walking into a live excavation of an ancient untouched Minoan site and was invited there to walk freely by the chief American archaeologist. Once in a lifetime to sit in the throne they just found.

That s the norm for a cocktail….In Greece and lots of other places…
It’s around 5-8€ in Spain depending on where you are.

Not to mention you don't have 1000+ gorgeous islands to explore
Not to mention everything else in Spain is way more expensive

Im going to santorini for 5 nights at the end of July staying in perissa. Havent really planned things out yet what would you reccomend?
Took Olympic Airways from Athens to Santorini and was double charged for the tickets. Kind of left a bad taste in my mouth when I tried to rectify the issue to no avail. Great video Gabriel and Anna.

This lovely portrait of Santorini makes me want to give it another go. I lasted two days on my only visit a few years ago in late September, fleeing from the amazing noise pollution of the two-cycle scooters and the choking air pollution. Didn't see or hear any of that here. Did they finally ban the scooters? Breakfast at €8 to €10 sounded like a good deal after backing out the over-priced drinks.

Thank you for being in our country!I think that you haven't been in all Cycladic islands yet (small Cyclades, in other words Koufonisia, Donousa, Schinoussa, Heraclia.Moreover Amorgos, Astypalea (of the same architecture with Cyclades, Dodecanese though).Koufonisia and Astipalea are some of my favorite.Good luck and safe travels!

@@johnschannel449 John m'lad, I made that comment about weirdos because I thought it to be ridiculous that people can watch a few minutes of video with Gabe and Anna which contains simple, normal dialogue between them and then jump to the conclusion that they're in a serious relationship. Their communication is light, and pleasant but it doesn't necessarily indicate that there's any type of serious relationship happening.

I love Santorini but I'm always blown away by how expensive it is compared to other parts of Greece. I should mention Mykonos is even worse than Santorini in this regard.

Ha, Santorini… once and DONE 😂 We had the most AMAZING trip in Crete then ruined it by going to overpriced, touristy, lack of culture …Santorini. We stayed at one of the best hotels, incomparable views, restaurant and shops just a few steps away… but absolutely never again! Not even if I was given free flights and accommodations 😂

I’ll be traveling this upcoming Tuesday. I’ll be visiting the following countries: Russia 🇷🇺, Belarus 🇧🇾, Ukraine 🇺🇦, Turkey 🇹🇷, Cyprus 🇨🇾, and Egypt 🇪🇬. I’ll finally be done visiting the entire continent of Europe.
