Jim was such a mellow gentleman. His music is timeless and beautiful as ever. There will never be another like him and we miss him so. They just don't have this kind of talent in todays country. Those of us who grew up listening to Jim and Marty Robbins will continue to do so. No one has that kind of class and talent anymore. R & D
RIP what a legend I learned from Jim Reeves my late parents always played his songs as I grew older I listen to his songs still do a real legend rest in peace safely in the arms of JESUS ❤
Born in Sri lanka, in 70,S I grew up with country and western. My Mothers side was Anglo' so every weekend we visit relations or they come over. With lots of Pork Curry and Rice and some local whisky to go with it'll be Elvis or Jim Reeves. His songs take me back to places that I love to be in for ever. Thanks for the upload.
My dad passed away 1 year ago and gentleman Jim was one of his all time favorite singers, he always seemed to play his records day in day out...... what a class act, you never know he he's probably playing his records even now upstairs somewhere R.I.P dad
I am a Sri Lankan brought up on Radio Ceylon! The DJ at that time who played a lot of Jim Reeves was Vijaya Corea. My sisters and myself used to listen to Jim Reeves and try to copy the lyrics on to pieces of paper. ...just by listening! We had no TV or other visual aids those days!
Losing someone you love for a long time is hard. I knew I was losing her, but I still held on thinking things will dance to my tune. It went the other way and this song has being a soothing melody comforting me, knowing love sometime's has to part....thanks
Brings back beautiful memories of my childhood and I miss my dad whenever I hear Jim Reeves sing. I can still recall my dad singing and swaying to his songs. Only wish my dad could see his video on RUclips.
Don Guild There was a reason he was called Gentleman Jim - never a word of scandal or anything negative about him. I loved him when I was ten and still do.
Jim Was a great gentleman. a legend since I was a kid I love him and he still is my number one guy. There will never be another one like him .God loved him too . I miss him .Eunice
This deep bass and so inspiring voice has led me to embrace a musical career and has brought much happiness in our life ,much thanks and respect mr Jim reeves
@TheLousyCafe1960 I've been listening to country music since I was old enough to hear and remember. God how I remember this LP. I fell in love with country then at that moment. Of all the music then and now, Jim Reeves is the best. He died five years before I was even born but I would litterally give my left testicle to hear him live, just once.
During the 60's we used to live in Bangladash. There we used to listen to radio station from what used to be Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) "Radio Ceylon, the commercial service of Ceylon broadcasting corperation" And this sone in that radio station used to be one of my favourite!!
This was way before my time but I can still appreciate great music when I hear it!! I wish I did grow up during this time.. I was born in 71 but my parents played Jim all the time!! He was def one of the best ever!
I was 17 years old and I was in Ireland, when they announced his death. Europe was so sad. I was also. Then my grandmother and I, went home in America. We were just visiting. I remember the day. Now just old 74.
his death in 64 the year after my birth, A sad day for the world. 44 years and still he reigns supreme. The loss of a legend, elvis was the king, but so was george the 5th, the king of music, we all know was jim reeves, a true gentleman, And a more modest ,humble man, an example to us all.
The today's style is very different and holding a note like he does is not the style anymore of these days. I am a Hugh Jim Reeves fan since I was 14 and I am 59 now. I must admit Al tough Jim was a great singer, for me the best, his television performing was not too good. But you know unfortunately he did not get the time to practice more and become better. So your question is how would he be treated on "the voice" ? I think not too good, because nowadays singers sound all the same and Jim was something special, they don't look for something special anymore and a full range voice like Jim's and holding note's for seconds is not what they are looking for today. It's sad but true.
is that what he looked like while i was growin up i 4t he was chubby but i so love him hes always made me cry. i was raised with him rip james reeves :) xxx

What's been happ'ning to me
Ev'ry road has a bend
Will I be sweetheart or friend
Will the sweet things you do
Be for somebody new
Tell me what to do
Am I losing you

Ev'ry road has a bend
Will I be sweetheart or friend
