Armed and Dangerous Charing Cross Police Station complaint Update | Remembrance Day Trilogy
    • Armed and Dangerous Ch...
An audit with a difference today.
In November 2023 I was filming outside Charing Cross Police Station and I was assaulted by a Police Officer. It will all become clear when you watch the content as I try to show this assault by using my footage and footage from the officers body worn camera which I obtained using a Subject Access Request (SAR). The thing is this is the 2nd time this type of behaviour has happened at this Police Station and the same 'words' have been used.. 'Get that camera out of my face'.
I have put together some footage and commentary which after viewing I would like to know what You think is the correct conclusion, was I assaulted or did the police officer act and react correctly. You be the Jury and You Decide.
How transparent is the Metropolitian Police and IOPC complaints system. What decision do you think they would come to if reviewing the same footage.

That is an aggressive officer who objects to being filmed. He approached Yardley. Yardley never approached him and then accused him of the very thing he was doing himself. His tale is both false and self serving. But lying about incidents is sadly what the police do habitually. I can see no sign of a camera in the officers face. The only contact was the officer who hit Yardley in the face. He lied about the code, he lied about his camera, he lied about his assault and he lied that Foxtrot Oscar’s means expletive off. It can mean a million things. Favourable Officer. Friendly Officer. File on. But do I think the police will take his lying slant? Absolutely I do. I have no respect for the Met. The Casey report highlighted that complaints rarely even move fwd and those that did were rarely sustained. She said it’s an issue. How long now and it’s worse.

judith - I agree the cop assaulted YS, but you missed out the first thing the cop said to him. He ASKED YS if he wanted any help?
Course, on being told to shut up by YS, he should have done exactly that and walked away. He was not intimidated, nor in fear of YS. His ego and anger made him lash out and commit this minor assault. Members of a jury should be fair and unbiased.
The stuff you say about "FO" and lies are IRRELEVANT to the charge which we were asked to decide, ie Assault.

@@Singhamsingham-ev2gk I was filming lawfully and in public. I did not make him leave the Police van. He states he saw me filming other Police officers therefore he knew exactly what I was doing. Reading his statement it says he completed the witness statement in the staff canteen. When he left the van he should of gone straight inside to complete whatever work he was doing on his laptop and Not approach me.. Because he did approach me, and then spoke to me asking if he could help me. I did not respond or answer him, but he was persistent and continued to want to engage, but he never informed me his body worn camera was filming so that is why I spoke to him. Now if he had gone inside the building or approached me and stated his policy of informing me he was filming, then the whole situation would have been different.

@@Singhamsingham-ev2gkabsolute rubbish. Looking through a window is not “approaching”. He walked round the outside of the van rather than walk directly into the police station. They’ve been told to leave auditors alone but Mr Arrogant chose to because he switched on his camera with foresight before he reached Yardley. If Yardley rebuffed his nonsense bluntly that’s not illegal and certainly not abusive. Everything that cop said was deliberate to try to paint a picture that Yardley was the antagonist. HE bashed the camera away when he walked up to him . HE didn’t do that through a van window. Try taking an objective view. If Yardley was wrong I’d say so. That’s what he’s about ACCOUNTABILITY not making up trash like you are. You’re not objective you’re a bootlicker.

I am not qualified to judge his behaviour as assault but it was very clearly way below the standard we should expect, there are several parts in PACE which make it very clear that there are strict procedures they must follow at all times, this always include correct self-identification and statement regarding BWC's, these if for no other reason than that any subsequent arrest will be deemed unlawful. As usual I will remind you and everyone else that this is another clear example of very poor training and management, in my opinion it his 'superior' officers who should be held to account, this poor chap might not be innocent he is certainly ignorant!.

    Yardley...😂
How are we supposed to figure out our own speculative views if you first tell us how you think?
    😂😂 ❤
I remember this assault from before.
He was first to approach you closer than necessary if he felt he was in danger.
He was the first to point into your face, causing distress ro you.
He had ALREADY seen that you were an "Auditor" (whatever that is), and he STILL hadn't revelled his camera was on ASAP.
He stepped into your space after you stepped into his space... in otherwords, he decided to get closer rather than further from you.
He then pushed your phone away (human rights violation and another law I can't recall).
Lastly. He KNOWS, AS PER TRAINING, that Foxtrot Oscar simply means F.O!
In the government, F.O. stands for Foreign Office. (It's the first thong on Google, and the first on my phone.
It may very well mean what HE thinks it means in his world, but I KNOW from previous footage of yours that you mean it to NOT mean what he suggested.
Also...PS...😂... USING common law to repel a copper MUST, therefore, be ok?
One steps back first. If the other then steps into your area, you MUST use common law as a means to repell his sexual advances.
I know this IS an ok tactic to stop them touching you and putting me in pain. It just depends on how they try and write it up at the custody suite because one WILL be arrested.
    Cheers 🇬🇧

If I had to nit-pick, there was a slight movement of the auditor toward the officer just before force was used. The officer still had to step forward to make contact, which I'd argue ultimately means the officer's perception of risk is unreasonable and his use of force excessive. We've seen Yardley calmer than that officer was, under much more trying circumstances than that officer was in. Obviously, being told to shut up made the officer angry - what does he think, a "police officer on the street" is somehow protected from that sort of thing? But maybe a small learning point for the future to remain as still as possible to give them minimum opportunity to justify this sort of stuff.

THAT SAID...I would class the actions of the police officer as assault, and I am concerned, but not surprised that the officers body-worn did not tally with his statements, and it is clear that this happens way too frequently. He lacked professionalism and seriously needs retraining.
It's hard to say which was the most repugnant of the two.

First of all ... I'd like to know what dictionary he's using which defines " Harassing " as " Taking photographs or video recordings " and then I'd like to know in which Universe he thinks that by HE. HIMSELF approaching and interrupting / interfering with a photographer / videographer, THAT equates to HIM or HIS OFFICERS being harassed when if ANYONE is on the way towards a " course of conduct " leading to harassment, it's HIM !
Next ... Given the reputation of a significant number of police officers engaging in varying degrees of FORCE / VIOLENCE ranging from minor injuries to fatal ones ... AND ... Given the fact that he wasn't, as he said " pushing anything away ", but in fact STEPPED FORWARD AND LUNGED TO GRAB the recording equipment ... I would find it perfectly plausible that anyone subjected to such a Lunge and Grab to fear that the Lunge could be the start of a violent, potentially life-threatening ATTACK ...
It would then be down to whether or not an allegation of " Assault " could be determined to be based on, and to what degree, the victim apprehended GENUINE FEAR for one's safety / life or if it was a more " technical " assault based on an objection to " unwanted physical contact " as to the severity of any penalty for such unwarranted actions of a police officer who is ( from his own BWV ) demonstrably an unhinged, over emotional, short tempered liar and a public liability !

It is ...ASSAULT and BATTERY. You dint ned contact for assault. If you are put in fear of iminent harm that is ASSAULT. When contact is made that becomes ASSAULT and BATTERY. Your camera is an extension of your body/arm. Hence, a BATTERY. YOU were not a physical threat...he is also trained to a level of tolerance whereby he must first de..escalate. The cop committed a criminal offence.

Thank you for highlighting how dishonourable some PCs can be. Nevertheless, beyond doubt he came into your space and was very angry when you did not jump when he announces I am a police officer, that when the anger started. Yet again, you have demonstrated how important it is to record any involvement with the police. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Its a breach of your peace and assault.
I would not want a Jury to sort this out. Jury's are unpredictable and will not be your peers.
With a judges decision, it has to be a reasonable decision based only on the facts in front of him, along with maxims if equity and the evidence the judge must do whats right and can easily be overturned due to not doing whats right is a failure in due process, a constitutional principle.

NOT to behave in that situation. And then blatant lie at the end of his statement

Definitely guilty of assault, breach of the peace, and anti social behaviour. He should be disciplined with a suspension and retrained plus a fine of £2,000. Then he should be sued personally, which you may believe isn't possible but it really is under the law and his contract of employment.
