I still wonder why isn’t Tim playing in a top death metal band , tif you ask me he is the best replacement the “ Comando “ Sandoval could have . Both are flawless drummers , amazing punch ( something that most “fast “ drummers do not possess , you take then out their triggers abs there’s nothing at all ! ), stamina , sharp abs precise tempo and course , they are fast enough to make ask if there’s man behind the drums . My respects for these two monsters !
I've wondered that too, but from what I understand, Tim doesn't fuck around when it comes to getting paid (can you blame him?). If I remember correctly, financial disagreement was the reason why he left Morbid Angel. Of course, there could be more as to why he isn't playing in a top death metal band, but I do think money could be the top reason.

Drunkwraith You can be Tony Williams and still talk bullshit.Steve Smith and Dave Weckl are the smartest players out there who dissected every movement.It's smart to take advantage of things.You aren't gonna proof anything by not using rebound.At the end of the day you are gonna play more elegant and have more stamina if you know physical principals and not fight with nature.Bashing like a fool won't get you anywhere(Tot talking about power of the hits but the technique itself).

When you're saying that loose grip makes you play sloppy, you obviously played maybe once that way, and now you have a firm opinion that it makes you sound sloppy? Ok. You're right in that sense that the grip affects the sound of the drums. A firm tight grip makes a choked and short sound. A loose grip makes the drum sound more fuller and the decay is bigger. I choose to not play with a tight and choked grip because it has a negative effect on your hands on the long run. Common sense? I'm not saying it's wrong. Some like it, some don't.
Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike this video. The best drumming parts of Lion's Den start right after the video stops,imo. When I say "Booo" I am just saying I love what I just witnessed and want more! Tim gets her done.

In honor of Pete, Tim does an excellent job...Two different styles/techniques..but still great drummers nonetheless.
