Hogs & Kisses Set (Valentine's) - Angry Birds Plush

- Following the Trick or Treat and Season’s Greedings updates to close out 2010, Angry Birds Seasons was right back at it with its third major update - one that celebrated the season of love. Hogs and Kisses once again expanded the scope of the Angry Birds franchise, not only serving as an enjoyable festive level pack, but also spawning new characters that unfortunately would be sparingly used moving forwards. Nevertheless, Commonwealth Toys took action releasing various Valentines themed products to coincide with the holiday the following year. Today, we look back to Commonwealth’s Hogs and Kisses set and attempt to address all questions associated with it, covering every aspect imaginable. This video will include analysis, postulations, and some storytelling.

You know what I think? Valentines Matilda is the bird we follow in the toons series and movie, the OG white bird is a guy and is named Matt.

I got bow pig new with tags including the squeeze me tag, but no sound for Christmas this past year, I was freaking out and it’s the rarest piece in my collection
The sound chip must be dead then.
There should be a plush set for a double pack with the box saying, "True Love" and on the set would be a Maximus Bird and Construction Pig 😆 🤣 😂

Awesome video dude!!!!! I didn’t know that Cupid Pig was THAT rare. Also I wish they released that Red Bow tie Plush because it’s such a awesome variant I would love to have him. Overall it’s a pretty good set.

I love all of the pictures of the plushies in stores, super nostalgic.
I actually got a GoodStuff 8'' Valentine's Matilda on january 2022, surprisingly i didnt buy it online but I actually won it at Six Flags México, they had like 6 of them, it has Gen 2 Tags but the paper-tag fell off and got lost when leaving Six Flags.

Imo one of the more interesting sets as it comes in various different sizes unlike the other seasons sets.
I remember back in 2012 but it wanted the Cupid pig mods then anything but happy I finally got it in 2016 hope you do the Go lucky get green plush in March

Although now outdated, I wanna point out that Valentines Matilda is the same person as regular Matilda, in The World of Angry Birds Official Guide book it states that Matilda decided to dress up for the season (Not saying you’re wrong, thought it’d be cool to bring up that info) implying that the ending cutscene is now retconned. (I’m assuming it’s because Matilda’s gender has been clarified and established at that point).
Then again the game (where they appear to be separate characters) itself holds more weight than a book since it’s y’know, _the game_ but I thought it’d be worth mentioning since the book seems to try and establish a lot of the lore in the game.
You know, I have that book. As I'm typing this, I cannot seem to find where it states that. There's an image of the Valentine's Matilda next to a text box titled "Love Birds," which seems to imply that they're the same character. I can't find where it directly states that though. All it says is that "Matilda is such an old romantic." These Valentine's characters are a bit "hairy" when it comes to their history. And I guess as an OG player, I've always seen them as two different characters. Especially considering that Matilda was, by all intents and purposes, a _male_ character at the time. I'm not here to discuss the complicated lore though, the plushies are confounding enough, lol.
@@MaximusOverdrive Yeah no you’re right, should’ve checked it before I commented BUT yeah you’re right, she’s next to the text box which must’ve made me assume that, especially with referring to her as an “old romantic”. Seemed fitting. But yeah I’m with ya there, (an OG here as well I suppose haha) I always saw them as separate since they were two different characters on screen though the cutscene is still nice to look. Yeah the lore definitely has some meat in it which I like, it’s interesting to me ! But yeah definitely, the plushies got a lot on there own, you’re doing great by covering them, keep it up!
I had the matilda, plush I got it at a bowling ally. My dad won it, for me, on a key master machine after many attempts at trying to align the key

You know, my friend has the female red plush (or ruby as other people might call her) but for some reason he took the bow off of it and now it's in his attic. Shame, guess he didn't know how rare it was.

Hey maximus, i have this weird variant of red that has a florida gators theme, i tried searching it up but i saw nothing about it, do you think this plush is rare?
If I had the time, I’d go in depth on these. Strange items to be sure, but they’re not exactly as relevant as you presume. Not much information is out there on these, but I happen to know quite a bit.
Commonwealth partnered with a company called Fabrique Innovations (a company that had the licenses to MLB and NCAA teams and made various novelties for those brands) to make these. They had regional releases in team shops, Target stores, and later in Kmarts as overstock. I'm sure there are rare variations out there for obscure NCAA schools, but overall the pattern isn't.

Hogs and Kisses was actually pitched around -20% and Hogmother was exactly what's in the game.
