  • Houston-based filmmaker Wayne Slaten takes us step by step through the creation of the visually stunning short film “Red Pearl.” It was a top winner in the inaugural CineSpace festival, a competition that requires that creators incorporate archival NASA footage into a video project.
    This story appeared on “Arts InSight,” which airs every Friday night at 8:30 on Houston Public Media TV 8.

    How did he not mention his editing program of choice ?

      it looks like After Effects, from what I've seen so far

      He's using Adobe Premiere Pro, for editing. For VFX, he's using Adobe After Effects.

      @@Joshua_N-A If you're new to editing, there are some free options, to get started. There's HitFilm Express from fxhome.com . There's Lightworks from lwks.com, also. For more power there is Davinci Resolve lite, from blackmagicdesign.com . There's a free open source software called Blender 3D, from blender.org. It's a computer animation program that also let's you do editing. I hope this helps.
