Yes, social media has always been extremely toxic for me. The enemy loved using it as a distraction and temptation for me! It fueled my flesh with lust, comparison, jealousy, insecurity, etc. When I got saved and felt the conviction to get rid of social media all together, I obeyed the Holy Spirit. It's been over 2 years now since I've been on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and I don't miss it at all! God really showed me how much time I had wasted on my phone. I still have RUclips but even on here, I protect my eye and ear gates & watch sermons, teachings, and bible study videos.

That is so true! He doesn’t overwhelm us, it’s little by little.

The only thing that broke me of that materialistic mindset was losing everything (had mold). I still see things I like and want them but don’t see any real reason to buy them as I just see everything as something I will potentially have to just throw away again. It really helped me have a minimalist mindset. I think it’s great that you are being convicted without having to go through something like I did.

Thank you Sarah for sharing these videos. God has spoken to me through your videos and told me there were lessons I needed to learn from your channel. I cried watching your and Adam’s wedding ceremony and God spoke a word over my heart about my future husband. He told me “teach together” as I was praying for a husband and begging him to bring me a Godly man. It was a cool God moment.
P.s. I struggle with chronic fatigue too. God has a plan for us. I know he will heal!

Recently I have been thinking about all those things that you were talking about, specially about how things that we consume contentwise influence our desires... and I started to pay closer attention to that, this video is so timely for me. Some time ago I noticed also another, very suptile form of gluttony that I had..it was gluttony towards spiritual insights and revelations. Sounds paradoxical at first but I realized that that is also a form of being always unsatisfied with the guidance you were given and wanting more information ahead of what God is giving you in His own timing. Sometimes these "gluttony "moments I can perceive as they start to happen and step away and somehow "relax" in the graditute of the moment, sometimes I only realize them in retrospective but I feel this is also some sort of skill that we develop, so I am practicing :)
About adornment and clothes... I found this to be true for me - when I dress and put make up and jewellery in joy and celebration of color and form and harmony and body (all of which I love and feel are such great expression of Gods creativity) than I cannot overdo or go wrong, and I feel God is always backing me up on this because it is what I am generally interested in. Just recently I realized that what I wear and what I choose to surround myself with indeed IS an expression of the particular creation that I am and that by listening, really listening to what my preferences even in the smallest and seemingly meaningless things like a pair of earings, and sticking with those preferences nevermind what the commercials and the media are trying to brainwash you with, that that is also a form of appreciating His intentions with me.
I always love your videos and your authentic approach

God has been talking to me so much this past week about being one mind with the church and the members in the body of Christ. It’s interesting because I started thinking about me being gluttonous around the time this video was posted. Since then my boyfriend is now at one mind and seeing his gluttonous behaviors, still waiting for the others at church to share in and get on the same page. We are doing a corporate fast this weekend so Maybe we will talk about it then!

God is re-affirming his word to me through you Sister Sarah! God asked me to let go of social media, He didn’t say to never go on there, but just a gently nudge to lay it down. When I let go of Pinterest, Instagram, and surfing through the internet and online stores, my relation with Him deepened. I deleted Instagram long time ago, but I occasionally go on Pinterest, now I rarely do. He gave me the grace of let go of all these things that were making me covetous, which is idolatery. If you feel like the Holy Spirit is telling you to let go of social media, for a season or for a long time, trust him for the grace because initially, I though I was going to die 😅without them. Lately, God has been impressing upon me the importance of my heart posture. I'm currently reading through the Bible from the beginning, and I realized through reading Exodus and Leviticus, just how detailed God truly is. When God instructed Moses on how the Holy of Holies, Mercy Seat and overall Tent of Meeting were to be built, He left nothing out. He made sure that His resting place on earth would be beautiful and meticulously crafted - worthy of the one true King. He was also very meticulous in Leviticus in regards to the burnt offerings and the fact that they would be a sweet, soothing aroma to Him. I say all this to say that God does indeed appreciate beauty and pleasure. I believe that the reason why we are able to perceive anything as beautiful is because God created us in His image. So when we have the correct heart posture (not idolizing things or people), then what is beautiful to God becomes beautiful to us. I think a huge issue in the world, especially today, is that we've allowed popular culture to define worth and beauty, instead of seeking God to reveal to us what is truly beautiful and worthy of our attention.
So I do not believe that it is sinful to delight in beautiful things. It is, however, sinful to esteem things (wealth, possessions or position) above God, or to knowingly go against God's will to obtain these things.

Thank you Sarah, this video came in the Lord’s divine timing. I struggle with wanting many material things especially when I go on social media as well. It gets exhausting after a while because my “need” for things expands further and further like if everything I see becomes something I need. I can see the enemy working in that way so definitely need to find a balance and become more aware of when I’m engaging in that temptation.

I believe God looks into the motives of our hearts more than the action itself, like the make up example, I personally don't use makeup but that is my preference, never liked it but if you do like it and use it because you want to feel comfortable and maybe get pretty for your husband is different that if you would wear it so guys woul look at you with lust, that was an example… so again the motives of our hearts and also being careful of what we watch and see like Adam said in His last video, God bless you guys ❤

@@constanzacorrea2567 Yes, that's right. Faith without works is a dead faith because the lack of works reveals an unchanged life or a spiritually dead heart. Salvation is a gift from God, we are not saved by our works. We trust God for salvation in Christ, and then we respond to what He did for us. Colossians 1:10-11 says we are supposed to “… lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him as (we) bear fruit in every good work.” ❤

Wow. Thankyou for this. I am really struggling with this. I was addicted to heroin and crack for over 20 years. I now have 23 months clean and have reconnected, recommitted, and started growing in my relationship with Jesus. I am however acting out on my addiction in other ways...eating too much or unhealthy foods (especially when I feel a little off) and shopping and overspending when I know it will affect taking care of my responsibilities. And you are absolutely right... I see a product, clothing, etc. on social media and feel like I need it to make myself more acceptable. Alot of this stems from guilt/shame/regret about my past and the harm I have done. They say to give it to Jesus. That is easy to say but much harder to actually comprehend and do. Please pray for me. And any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. Your content has truly blessed me. I'm about to rewatch this video and pray for the Holy Spirit to do His work. 💖

    "Unstoppable Love"
    (feat. Kim Walker-Smith)
Try to stop Your love, and You would wage a war
Try to take the very thing, You gave Your life for
And You would come running, tear down every wall
All the while shouting, "My love you're worth it all!"
God, You pursue me, with power and glory
    Unstoppable love that never ends
You're unrelenting, with passion and mercy
    Unstoppable love that never ends
You broke into the silence, and sang a song of hope
A melody resounding, in the deep of my soul
You have come running, You tore down every wall
All the while shouting, "My love you're worth it all!"
God, You pursue me, with power and glory
    Unstoppable love that never ends
You're unrelenting, with passion and mercy
    Unstoppable love that never ends
No sin, no shame, no past, no pain

Hi I really want to hear you tell more about the little details about how God has taken care of us, it makes me so happy to hear these stories.:) I am still a newborn Christian, trying to learn the character of God. When I was just born again(3-4months), I listened to dr Charles Stanley’s sermon. There was an episode about the character of God. The preacher said that he created you and he knew your likes and weaknesses, he will provide you with the best, because he knows what is the best for you, he said that some people will worry about what to do if he is not satisfied with the choice he made for me, dr said that he will definitely satisfy you ha ha ha 😆 I know your fireplace and your friend‘s purse is the testimony 🎉
