    This is one of my favorite performances by George. It makes the song what it is. Great bluesy fills and then that gorgeous solo; kinda playing behind the beat. It all adds a thoughtful, almost melancholy element to the emotions in John’s vocal delivery. Great job, brother!

    Not happy with what he felt were a lack of depth and weight to the lyrics of this song, Lennon used to call it “another piece of garbage”. It's one of my Beatles favorites, and IMHO, one of the best off of the Let It Be album.

      Lennon was always very critical on himself, and usually he’s very critical on things from a lyrical standpoint opposed to a musical one. Despite the incredible musicality of this piece I think he was mainly considering the lyrics over all else and that kinda clouded his view of one of his own masterpieces

    • @mattiboo
      @mattiboo  7 лет назад

      Very true! There are only a handful of pairs of guitarists that can play two totally complimentary guitar parts so well together. Keith Richards and Brian Jones/Ron Wood, Tom Petty and Mike Campbell are some that come to mind. These musicians are a true study of how guitarists should play in a rock band!

    As a guitarist, I am so impressed by this. The differences in the strumming patterns during the verse, how it goes from "floaty" and loose during the A and F# minor, to the "up-down", eighth note feel is brilliant. It's these little details and idiosyncrasies that give the Beatles their unique flavor.
