Great video series.... What is the solvent you are pouring into the cylinder head and which carbon cleaner are you using? Thanks

Came to the comment section for exact same questions. No answer?

@@marcelhustleassel8776 I’ve been using carb cleaner to pour into the cylinder head. It’s pretty good in stages at breaking down the carbon build up too. Beyond that... if it’s a complete rebuild, stripping the head and popping all the carbon built up bits in an ultrasonic cleaner worked beautifully for me. Took a while but no carbon remained!

Hello can you tell me from which side should I install small camshaft bearing ? As I understand it have meaning, it is not same from both sides, its greased and have sealing from one side, on my motor it was totally destroyed, I took it out by peaces.
Maybe it was installed by wrong side that's why it broke and broke every thing in head 🤔

Good morning friend, can you tell me the diameter of the piston pin please

Note to any 690 owners if you are in the top end the rocker arms are a major point of failure in the earlier models. If you’re in there change them with newer model ones. Could save you a lot of money.

My 2012 just blew at 14,000. Was well maintained all along. I don't have the time or space to rebuild it myself. Know any good rebuilders in California?

Hey, what about the roller arm bearing, when it is worn out should it do some ticking sounds or something when engine is running? I have a 09 450exc and have a ticking/slightly knocking sound at idle. Any recommends what should I check?

    • @NduroPhill

maybe check the valve tolerances if you havent already, also ktm uses hydraulic cam chain tentioners so after starting the bike the oil pressure needs to build in the tentioner, until then its possible that the chain makes a knocking, ticking sound. after a few minutes it should go away
