    I remember the first video of yours I watched. Rob was outside trying to figure out what all the pipes and wires were , where they started and where they were going. It was like the house that jack built. From then I was hooked. Then each week you found more strange and baffling things with the house. What a journey you have taken us on, and there is still more to come but such an amazing result. I hope you put the breaks on a bit and enjoy your home. You really deserve to sit back and look out of those windows in your warm comfy home without all that dust everywhere.

    I am so so impressed with everything you’ve accomplished with the house. It is BEAUTIFUL! I think my favourite room is the guest bedroom because of the old stone walls and just the vibe of the room is really old cottage I love the nod to the past. After that the kitchen from the rubble it was to the STUNNING kitchen you have now, it turned out so well! The master bedroom suite is beautiful as well, the sun coming in 😍 everything is gorgeous, you’ve all done such a wonderful job ❤

      Thanks Aisling, still a bit to do, or as they say, "are you ever finished?"🙈 But no we are so happy with what we have achieved so far as it makes it a liveable space which I guess is really the number 1 priority!

    I have a number of projects coming up in the spring. I just purchased the house that has been in the family since 1940. My grandfather built it originally, then my parents inherited it in 1972. So there is much that needs to be done.

      @ are you still loving the cabinet door color? I was thinking maybe paint instead of stain…that’s all! You have really done an incredible job and I can’t wait to see the cost breakdown video next week!

    I love everything you have done, and love the old and new that you have blended into your home, I just wonder how much this small holding will be worth for you once you out buildings and land is organised. You have done brilliantly just need a couple of donkeys now for Rooney to play with . Also copied the molasses in for the gingerbread recipe n it was lush . Thankyou

      That's the plan! Outside in the new year 👍

  • @phelimoneill2813

    It looks so cosy. Do you find the entire house keeps the heat since you finished?

    • @WestCorkWander
      @WestCorkWander  9 дней назад

      The old house is very warm with the stove blasting out the heat every evening, and the new extension is easy to heat but we are playing it safe for the moment as we need to prioritize the solar next year, as we are concerned about the electric bill 😬

  • @afrarunduml1170
    @afrarunduml1170 9 дней назад

    For sure you did an amazing job! I love your unique style, but the open bathroom in the master bedroom is very strange. And I don't get the OSBball over. Do you like that? It looks unfinished. But overall, a great achievement!

    • @WestCorkWander
      @WestCorkWander  8 дней назад

      Sometimes it's nice to try different ideas, and so far we are very happy with the bathroom. We allocated all of the costs of materials using the grant allocation. As it happened we ended up with more OSB than we needed for construction and so we're happy to try using this internally 😊

    The wooden clad single storey and the house don't blend. Have you thought of painting the outside one single colour to unite both buildings?

    • @WestCorkWander
      @WestCorkWander  8 дней назад +2

      We have a huge amount of work to do outside, working on the external pebbledash render and groundwork, so hopefully it will look less sad next year 😊
