@@TailHappyTV Thanks, that's good to know. Looked to me like one has to choose between knobs, fall-back controls like ProForm, or a subscription. It won't pair if you do. I had to call support to figure out why I couldn't pair. If you need more than level 16, Costco also sells an up version of this that goes to level 22 and costs $999.
I bought this bike after viewing this review along with some other clips. After a few rides, I soon realised this annoying iFit low resistance bug - a lot of the workout has a resistance of 1-3 which is a joke, or max 7 resistance for the most intensive workout. I am fairly confident this was a iFit program issue where the resistance has not been calibrated properly for this bike as the bike’s max resistance is 16. I am gutted that I did not see those discussions before my purchase and have not seen any RUclips video highlighting such an annoying bug which greatly reduce the usability of this bike. Although in theory this can be addressed by a software update fairly easily, there have been several months since people reported this issue to iFit and proform. So my hope for a quick fix is not high. Again, this is really annoying and disappointing for an otherwise excellent bike.
Hello, I'm just wondering if there are any improvements to the low resistance problem. i agree reading the reviews that this seems to be a major issue that significantly impacts compatibility with the auto-adjust resistance features in ifit app. It would be great to hear if the issue has been addressed?
Thanks so much for this video it is very helpful. I have been trying to figure out how to be able to raise the resistance level in IFit when the tablet is sitting over the manual resistance buttons on the Pro Form Tour de France. You figured it out in your video. Also that you showed that you can override the resistance levels the instructor has preset in the video. Very important, because of all the different levels of riders using this. Thanks!
Thanks for this video too after the assembly video. Just purchased; appears the settings and functions will work just for what I'm looking for. Appreciate your commentary on how IFit works too.
I just bought and set up the bike yesterday- I too struggled woth the idea of the tablet being in the way if I wanted to control resistance- and voila! You figured it out - I am happy! Plus, I dont have to wait for 12 weeks to get a peloton!!!
AND you don't have to come up with another $2000 as well. So much motivation with the interplay with a trainer verse the simple monochrome screen. Of course, you need an iPad to access the Pro Form App which is an extra cost IF you don't have the iPad.
A fair review for the first look. Re changing the resistance, in. a bike ride there is a scale from 1-16. Move the slider to whatever resistance you want. An unanswered question is if I'm on a ride and the resistance is say 4 and manually moved it to 8 with the slider, and then the ride called for the resistance to be say 3, would it then auto move the resistance down one unit to 7 or would it auto move to 3 as per the program?
Great video thanks for this! I know the live class didn’t have music did the other classes have music? Lol I know it’s not a big thing just the music pumps me up a little more possibly buying this now haha but thanks for such a detailed review!

There is a hack here on RUclips to increase resistance, it doesn't change it a ton but it does help if you're not satisfied with the resistance. It's I minor mechanical adjustment.

I was impressed with the resistance automatically adjusting in live rides as well as normal rides, especially on such an inexpensive bike. I need to double check scenic rides, but I did do a hill climb ride which was kind of neat to feel like I was actually outside riding with another person.
@@TailHappyTV thank you for replying. Your impressions so far are really helpful. If you could check on the scenic rides, I’d appreciate it. Not much of a class/leaderboard guy but sounds fun to ride for an hour virtually in another country/geographic area.
@@MarkK2222 I have a Proform treadmill and rower with the iFit app. On the tread I only do the recorded/ scenic trips. Walk,Hikes,Runs- it's awesome. The trainers also share a little knowledge of the countries you are in etc. hope that helps
