You should check out "Lie Under You". It is great! Also, her son does a rendition of it that to die for. Her mother is also WOW!
Funny thing about Southern tropes, as in her song "Lie Under You" which starts off with "I'm lyi____n(g) in the ba__ck of my da__ddies o_ld picku_p tru___...", if you ignore the elements kind of (not completely) irrelevant to Northern (urban) lifestyle, like pickup trucks and "mama/momma" instead of "mom", you find the commonality. Actually, there is a fine line between Country music and what is now deemed "urban music" (almost anything considered "black music" which is ironic since most African Americans have family ties to the South. And though accents tend to be slightly neutralized, there is also a connection between Southern Pride and Black Pride. That is why Black people can feel both, even those of us who are second generation Northerners (first generation to be Northern born). Linguistic/accent pride is common among the two, and this can be heard in the music of of both styles of singing.
Also check out K Michelle. Miss Kimberly is a real firecracker, forced almost to focus on RnB though her heart and soul is Country, but now reclaiming her time, as they say in government LOL

Agree 100% re the history of country. There’s a lot of similarity with soul music.
I think he said Blues not Soul. Nowadays Country music sounds like R&B and Rap music but it’s origins are Blues and Black folk music.

Her studio voice and her live voice are always good. Some artists don't sound the same when they sing live. I'd go as far to say her live voice is better. I've watched her live videos and seen her live. She's unbelievable.

Stopping the videos too much 3 secs then pause 3 secs then pause and talk. My only issue. Cant hear the quality of the song its 3 or 4 words and pause......i 4get what i was listening too and just go to my playlist and hear it then come see if u liked it. I love u tho....
