Fishing the docks in Jamaica Beach

So we are fishing on Galveston Island in a place called Jamaica Beach In todays video.
I rented us a house for a few days for a family vacation. This place was very nice. It was right on the water and had a gated yard. The dock itself had one green light and lots of green lights around other docks with in our cove.
I was catching all of the fish using bream hooks with small pieces of shrimp.
This was so much fun catching these fish on my ultralight.
If you have kids that are getting in to fishing this style of fishing is very easy and it's pretty much non stop fish catching action. There are so many fish around these docks.
I did hook a monster fish that broke my line but maybe i'll get it on the next trip out there.

you'd be surprised at some of the big ones you can catch in there.

Oh yeah!!! I did hook one fish I couldn’t turn. I was only fishing with 6lb test on my crappie rod but I think it was a big black drum. A couple houses down from us caught a couple of reds over 30”

@@lanceduff used to frequent a house on a canal by San Luis pass about 15 years ago. After a cat 1 hurricane all the fish must have gotten messed up or disoriented, cause I was catching bull reds from the very end a canal. Even saw about a 6 foot shark just cruising at the very top. And often would catch squid in a cast net. Never know what you'll get in those canals!
