Absolutely super from trouble shooting to analysing to reading schematics to theory about why ... to ordering to fixing. SOO pedagoic and absolutly complete school. You´re the BEST
Thank you for your time and sharing with us. Excellent repair! We always enjoy your videos. Great idea to add the leads to the diodes; big thumbs up! Joel
Great explanation of the repair and nice preventive step on the diodes. Somehow I think these kind of repairs are to easy for you. Anyways *_Cheers_* and Happy Holidays
Great repair. It seems a lot of manufacturers expect their customers not to drop their equipment. ;) I've noticed that some bend small U bends into leads so they have a little give in a situation like that. Your wire method should allow it to survive some huge board movements.
hello everything is fine ? Could you help me, I have a mackie srm 450 v3 active box, and when we use it on the microphone at maximum it restarts, it keeps restarting all the time, and when we reduce the volume it works normally, I am from Brazil
Hi mine are the first gen made in Italy 2 of the capacitor blow and smoke after I turn it on it didn't been used for 2 years last time work fine I don't know if I should just replace them and what could cause it I had 6 speakers connect at that time only one blow any idea is welcome. I will use the spare amps for now
hello very helpful video. in my case i have U36 chip blown up. i also found the same transitory with broken legs. i change the transistor and the U36 Chip but as soon as i powered on the U36 blew up again. any ideas?
bom dia, peco a especificacao do transistor que esta ao lado desse transformador enbrulhado de amarelo, o mwu mackie queimou a esta peca e nao estou vendo a referencia pra comprar outro e dar o tecnico
The woofer in my V2 has no sound..it's only the tweeter who's working .. everything works except for the woofer that has no sound..what could be happen in the amp or woofer..
One point: the 'thump' is the proximal cause of the diode leads. The high level of vibrations caused the diode leads to constantly flex until metal fatigue made them shear off. Wouldn't this situation be best served by placing some hard foam pads between the board and the heat sink to absorb those excessive vibrations? True, you did add wires to those leads; but they too are still subject to these same excessive vibrations! Good preventive measure.
Sir....i have makie srm450v2 avtive speaker...problem is the whem i turning on speaker thermal (led) and peak (led) light staying on...how to solve this problem???
Hello.... I opened up the board on my SRM 450 which stopped working. I did not find the same problem as shown here. What happened was .... the speaker was driven very high and heard a 'Popping' sound and then a strong burning smell. Any ideas what I should look for ? CHEERS Mate !
can you kindly tell me the component code of the U36 code scheme? In the PCB it is not read, in the diagram it is not marked. Thanks . I am in Italy Sardinia
@@feedback-loopmay I ship you 2 SRM 450 boards to have "fun" with and paypal/venmo you the cost of parts/labor? They both seem to be having the same functional problem. The drawback of the way all the leads on the discrete mosfets & diodes...are bent..badly....with sharp right angles....they should be of rounded bends.. which I always do.. after the new with rounded bends..they never came back for same failure.. even THOSE short extension leads are a big NO- NO for me.. @ 350kHz pwm current..
@@feedback-loop more spikes & ringing because of added lead inductance... here full length leads plus length of flex. wire...plus 3 extra solder joints..shortest possible leads ARE ALWAYS best.. the ferrite on drain lead and device rating does help though..
Your methods of repair are almost poetic. On the other hand Mackie has lost some of its prestige IMHO. Such construction flaws simply shouldn't happen. Usually these Mackies come in pairs. I suggest you tell your customer to have the other unit repaired as well.

I enjoy the way you explain your approach to a repair and continue that logic through to the repairs end. Very enjoyable. Happy Holidays.

Liked the _"voofer"_ amplifier very much! lol
Great work! Really enjoy and learn from your videos!
the two dislikes are from the engineers that designed this board.

Great video nice explanation and I liked the tip remounting the power diodes Thanks !
More repairs more often please :)
Nice repair and great video as always. Looking forward to the next one already. Hopefully some test gear ;-)
Nice repair! Thanks for sharing.
Really helpful. Thank you. I am trying to find why my ALTO TX 15 Woofer does not work at the moment. Do you have a video that might help?

what ohm does the sub run? Is it an 8 ohm amplifier and sub?

how much do you charge to repair the amp of my srm450 v1?
what would cause a powered fbt promaxx 15sa bin limiter to cut in when not being pushed?

You could have bent the new pins to give him some springing properties
I already took it to a Mackie dealership and they couldn't fix it or repair it.
want to ask PWM ic serial number for 12n60c MOSFET
Если нет визуально ничего сгоревшего. Найден только термо предохранитель в обрыве. Аппарат не включается.

Sorry, I don't run a repair shop. This is all hobby for the fun of it.
