However, know that the brothers are to guide us but ultimately we all have our own conscience to answer to Jehovah. Alicia Johnson I agree about our conscience and I also agree about their dress not being inappropriate according to bible principles if that is how they feel. They looked beautiful. You miss my point. Governing Body members like Anthony Morris the third dictate what is acceptable and what us not. In an Annual Meeting broadcast about 4 years ago he said that tight pants (like those popular in Europe) for men and spanx for women, even tights when exercising away from home, we're not appropriate. There's even photos of unacceptable wear in a recent Wachtower and it also includes haircuts with short sides and long on top. It is not right for them to be dictating these things, that is what the Governing Body does.
I don’t mean to stir the ground but the very practice of wedding celebrations actually has pagan origins. Seems very inconsistent with their doctrine. These are Gods people though.

Also that haircut with the shaved sides was pictured in the Watchtower as being wrong. The bridesmaids with the split up the side would be immodest. Didn't your Elders say anything?
RiverDanube not one of the brothers go beyond what the Bible says and they’re dress is up to their own conscience as you see the married not in a Kingdom Hall which may say the brothers did not think the dresses appropriate for the hall. However, know that the brothers are to guide us but ultimately we all have our own conscience to answer to Jehovah. May their marriage be blessed as long as they include Jehovah as their main cord of their new marriage

You miss my point. Governing Body members like Anthony Morris the third dictate what is acceptable and what us not. In an Annual Meeting broadcast about 4 years ago he said that tight pants (like those popular in Europe) for men and spanx for women, even tights when exercising away from home, we're not appropriate. There's even photos of unacceptable wear in a recent Wachtower and it also includes haircuts with short sides and long on top. It is not right for them to be dictating these things, that is what the Governing Body does.
I don’t mean to stir the ground but the very practice of wedding celebrations actually has pagan origins. Seems very inconsistent with their doctrine. These are Gods people though.
