I'm glad you're enjoying The Dark Tower. The Drawing of the Three and The Waste Lands were a step up from The Gunslinger for me as well, and Wizard and Glass was my favourite so far. I just started Wolves of the Calla so hopefully I enjoy that one too!
Thanks for the invite to the buddy read, and your video breakdown of the book is really first rate. 🙌 All 4 books in the Polish edition of the Hyperion cantos have fabulous cover art.
Thank You Johanna. I’m so excited to read it. I have heard that Wizard and Glass is mostly a “look back” and it doesn’t have a ton of current plot progression; that’s fine with me, I love these characters and can’t wait to learn more of their back stories!
@@bartsbookspace oh that's good! I'm not typically the most plot-driven reader, so I personally loved that "story within a story" approach. Learning more about Roland added depth to my Dark Tower reading experience. It still has some great, thrilling, exciting stuff!
Yes. This is the cover that makes Shrike look properly menacing. I’m just having a lot of fun with The Dark Tower. It’s such a unique mashup of science, fiction, fantasy and horror.
I’m having a ton of fun reading DT, I just had to get through Gunslinger the first book, which is not necessarily bad, but it lacks something, it feels like a prologue. Hope you’ll love it, when the time comes!
Thanks! 😀 I wont pretend that there weren’t some problems with logic at the end of the book. For example: if it was just the perception of the city dwellers that was altered how did clothes change shape, food make them sick etc. Perhaps Helward is not a reliable witness to these events? Still, I thought the reveal was satisfying even if not 100% convincing.
I loved Inverted World, one of the few 'spoiler' videos I have done since it was so interesting. Wizard and Glass is my favorite DK book, but I can see why a lot of people don't like it, there isn't a lot of plot progression in that one, its mainly a look back, but I loved it. Cheers Bart.
Interesting, I did not realize Wizard and Glass was a “look back”; it’s a long one. But these characters are so interesting to me that I don’t think I’ll mind. Thanks! Inverted World was great. 👍
I don't collect books either, but I do like to own nice editions of books I love and will re-read. Definitely buy the complete set of Polish Dan Simmons Hyperion series. The cover art is amazing and someday you can re-read that beautiful set. I enjoy Stephen King but I don't particularly like fantasy. If the Dark Tower Series is more like science fiction I may give it a try. Thanks
Thanks for the suggestion. I will let my wife know I want the last 3 Hyperion books for my birthday! 😂 It actually would be a great gift. 🙌 In The Dark tower series King mixes elements of horror, fantasy, and Science Fiction very skillfully. It’s too early for me to say as I’m only finishing book 3, but right now, SF elements are bubbling up to the surface, let’s see where the story goes.
I'm a suscriber and I saw a lot of your uploadings. And let me say this is very estimulating like all yours, but I'm argentine and off course admirer of Diego Armando Maradona and your shirt is the best of the present video.-
Great video as always but I hope you don't take offense if I say the choice of t-shirt is even better! xD Thank you for the recommendations and insights. 👍
😂 Thank You! It’s my favorite T-shirt. Diego indeed is immortal. I was 11-12 years old when in 1986 he took Argentina all the way in the World Cup. I’ll never forget those matches.
sorry I don’t mean to go on and on and on. In case you don’t remember. The “hand of god incident” quarterfinals against England. From villain to genius in 30 minutes. It happened just a few years after the Falklands war.Emotions were still very raw.
@@londoncalling3551 I remember it very well! It’s one of the most iconic moments in the history of futbol. It would, of course, not happen today with VAR.

Nice, another vote for Wizard and Glass! Can’t wait to start reading it. Hope book 5 is a Hit! 🙌
That is an amazingly beautiful cover for Hyperion. Wow. Reminiscent of H.R. Giger art for the movie ‘Alien’.
Yes, great observation Richard; I had to Google Giger’s work to remind myself of it’s dark feel. 👍
That Hyperion cover art really shows off its horror vibes! Very nice. And thanks for the shoutout!

Good reading month for you. No misses just hits!
Yes. The Hits just keep on coming! 🙌
I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Wizard and Glass! Can't wait to hear your thoughts. Happy May reading, Bart! 😊
Thank You Johanna. I’m so excited to read it.

That Hyperion cover is awesome! You are really selling me on the Dark Tower too
Yes. This is the cover that makes Shrike look properly menacing.

You have me excited to try the Dark Tower!!! Love hearing all that praise for bk 2

Can´t help but notice your t-shirt. I´m from argentina, Have you been here?
Hi. I have not yet been to Argentina, but I am a fan of futbol and between Messi and Diego your country gave birth to best of the best! 👍
Inverted world is on the list for sure thanks for sharing, enjoying your channel Bart
Hope you enjoy Inverted world! Thanks and right back at U 😀
Your book presentations are interesting and also quite relaxing. The outdoor setting 👍

Just for the t- shirt I subscribe. Diego immortal.

LOL indeed. What came after the hand of god will belong to the ages. Great reviews by the way.
