Kirby Super Star Staff Roll Version I Used: ruclips.net/video/_bT3EH-5JKY/видео.html Adding this here since people seem to be looking for it, and the old link I had for it was deleted Author's Note: Spoilers ahead! Don't read unless you want the episode/changes spoiled! Full episode links are in the description! As said in the RUclips description, this was made for my best friend, Luke's birthday! I didn't tell him it'd be this, but a week before his birthday, I asked him what his favorite Kirby RBaY episodes were and he told me the Prediction Predicament episodes and the Cartoon Studio episode. Now, I wasn't entirely sure how to go about the Cartoon Studio episode, as it's one of the few episodes that's considered better in the dub than Japanese, so I thought it'd be best left alone for now til I'm more experienced at making these remastered episodes. So, that left the Prediction Predicament episodes. With only a week to make it in time for his birthday (July 13th), I didn't have enough time to do both episodes, so I had to pick one. I felt part 2 is actually quite watchable on its own and I already wanted to do this episode even before asking Luke as it has the music box version of the Milky Way Wishes ending on the playground scene which just... Hits the feels. If you noticed for my episode 1 remaster, I tried to keep the dub OST in tact for scenes that had no music in the original. However this episode's theme is an apocalyptic end of the world scenario, and the dub OST had a lot of unfitting cartoony OSTs, so for the sake of this episode, I decided to keep those scenes with no background music to stay true to the setting of this episode. Note, I made a slight error. In the mice scene, when Meta Knight says "Sometimes small animals can sense things in the air" I thought the volume of the voice was really low due to my software removing the background music. So I increased it too loud and removed the "sometimes" part. It actually turns out it only sounded that way to me cause one of my headphone ears doesn't work and I edited this episode the whole time wearing my headphones and didn't realize it until I watched the episode without my headphones. I apologize for this! There's a scene in the original Japanese episode where everyone is confessing to each other, where Iro confesses for stealing food and his dad punches him on the head. This was taken out of the dub, and I'm unsure how to restore removed scenes with audio, unless I get them fandubbed, however due to this episode needing to be made with a deadline, I couldn't find a voice actor and had to cut it. For future episodes, I'll either get these scenes redubbed or figure out how to edit them in a way that doesn't need voices like what I did with the wine glass scene in episode 1. There's two more changes I made, that I hope you guys are okay with. The first change is removing Dedede's line "And they call me a blowhog!" when he's getting blown away in the wind. In the original Japanese, the line is "I'm not afraid of the end of the world if you're with me" which is a meaningful, and the dub giving Dedede funny dialogue felt so unfitting, so I straight up cut that line and just kept his yell. The other change would be a song change. In the Warp Star scene, the Warp Star/Kirby Melee from Air Ride theme plays in the original. It's a good song, don't get me wrong. However it plays in tons of episodes, and I felt for an episode that had the stake of the world on the line, its climax needed a unique theme from other episodes. And since this episode already has the music box version of the Milky Way Wishes ending, I figured a Milky Way Wishes ending remix would be the most fitting song. Fortunately, the orchestra remix from the Kirby Super Star Ultra album fit PERFECT (IMO anyway). With all that said, I hope you enjoyed the episode! If you did, please comment and like! Feedback really is a huge motivator to do more of these! And of course if you want updates, feel free to follow me on Twitter! :D My Twitter: twitter.com/poyodaboyo
As a fanatic of kirby lore, I usually appreciate king dedede for two reasons. In Prediction Predicament, Dedede does the moment of life to fix a cold-heared and selfish mistake by doing a heart-warming and self-less act to the a child that is Kirby. And on D'preciation Day, King Dedede and Escargoon played a rather mean and very cruel prank on Kirby for giving him an empty watermelon by putting a time bombed explosive in the form of Watermelon bomb and when the people of Cappy Town pulled a fast one on Dedede by telling him there is a memorial for his rival. From the flash back felt heart warming and tearful at the same time to the realization that Kirby is gone for ever in King Dedede's life. Escargoon blames his genuis plan to suggest the time bomb for the watermelon bomb and regret being brilliant and Dedede tells Escargoon that he wish that he was dum as Dedede. His hope of amends were too late and promises to never pull any mean pranks on the townsfolk by giving a melon to kirby headstone statue, assuring him that it had no explosive in this watermelon. From when Kirby emerge and eat the melon both scared Dedede and Escargoon to realizing that the memorial is a lie, King Dedede was relieved to find out that Kirby is alright and confess that Kirby's life gives Dedede meaning. Now take a look at Kirby And the Forgotten Lands, King Dedede was freed from being mind controlled to capture the Waddle-Dees and glad to see Kirby and willing to help until a Horde of Beast Pack soldiers and as the natives of PopStar, a Waddle-Dee trips, about to be trampled by the incoming horde. King Dedede looks back to see the Waddle-Dee in danger, then turns back to help the Waddle-Dee and make sure that it was okay. And when realizing that there would be no time for both to save themselves, Dedede decicde to put the Waddle-Dees and Kirby's lives before his own by staying behind and holding off the Horde. Allow me to repeat that for you. King Dedede, once freed from mind control and harmed his people, makes a heroic last stand to help Kirby save them world. To me that is what I call a full Dedede story arc. And...I.... Loved it!!!
This isn’t my comment. But, Dedede spending the supposed last minutes of his life building a park and swinging with his worst nemesis shows the mark of a lonely person.
its also a movie reference to a Japanese movie. if I remember another comment correctly. the main character is dying from cancer, so he built a park, and theres a scene of him on the swing singing edit: ikiru is the movie. I just found it
There’s also his reaction when Escargoon tried to leave earlier to be with his mother. Instead of being angry, he’s genuinely upset that he’s (from his point of view) walking out on him when the end of the world is inevitable.
For anyone who's wondering, this is a reference to a popular Japanese movie in 1952 called "Ikiru," which translates to "To Live." The movie is about someone who is diagnosed with stomach cancer, and for his final moments, he sings the same thing that Dedede sings in the Japanese dub, except the guy diagnosed with stomach cancer is singing the song in snow, accepting his death outside, freezing in the snow.
That's sweet and fitting actually. Especially when Dedede sings that tune. It's both heart warming and emotional. As his last act before popstar is destroyed he spends them by destroying the statue and building a playground and bring joy to Kirby and swing along side with him. Its quite beautiful and shows King Dedede's compassion to Kirby.
And what makes this so sad is Dedede knew it might be super hard for a literal baby to understand the concept of death so he made the playground as a means to try and keep Kirby calm and happy in the midst of everything that was about to more than likely happen if everyone else failed at the castle
Just realized that the music while Kirby starts playing at 1:55 is part of the ending/credits theme in Kirby Super Star. Makes the scene twice as wholesome😢❤
this episode in my opinion is one of the darkest because king dedede made kirby happy and started singing on the swing before his entire kingdom and people were destroyed
So I've been feeling super apethetic about my 18th Birthday, but this honestly slaps so hard. Thank you Poyo for putting in this hard work to get this ready for me -^_^- Best Friend energy right here!
I am not the only one who noticed the similar premise: A celestial object threatens to destroy the world and the hero ultimately stops it from crashing..
It was moving fairly slow for an astral body and didn't have enough mass to pull Popstar away from orbit, so Kirby shooting cannonballs at it from the bottom-front did enough to change its orbit.
ruclips.net/video/PCMD9BLHwzU/видео.html I believe it was this version! I can't find the original upload of the version I used, but I believe this is a reupload of the same version! =]
Thank you for letting me know! I haven't worked on an ep in awhile (about 40ish% done with episode 2) since I started my new job recently and I was making these for fun when I was unemployed, so I actually haven't looked through all the raws I have, but I do have them all downloaded! =]
Hearing both the Milky Way Wishes credit and Arena themes in this scene bring me immense joy as a lifelong Kirby fan. And honestly, I can't believe a pre-Return to Dreamland Dedede did this. Like sure, he's never been the main villain since the original Dream Land, but at the same time, only Adventure really justifies his actions and even *then* he could have just said something. Still... Really sweet of him to give his friend one final chance at happiness at the end of the world. Takes a lot of guts to do so.
Considering that Kirby was strong enough to throw something 30x his size to the sun and around back faster then the speed of light, It shouldn’t be a surprise that he has the spiting power to knock a star out of orbit with with some canon balls.
4:25 I really wanna know where did you got that remake track of the Ending that was from Kirby Super Star? I been trying to search one without the other sound noises like the voices.

Awww. That was so sweet of King Dedede to make a play ground for Kirby. The Wikipedia was right, he really does have a heart of gold.
And what makes this so sad is Dedede knew it might be super hard for a literal baby to understand the concept of death so he made the playground as a means to try and keep Kirby calm and happy in the midst of everything that was about to more than likely happen if everyone else failed at the castle

I can’t figure DDD out, the last several times he tried to get rid of Kirby, and the next he took Kirby to a playground.
Note that the Anime isn't canon, but the games describe Kirby and Dedede as friendly rivals.
All right.
Everyone thinks the world's ending, so DeDeDe wants to finally do something good.
