One additional thing I do for patterns is to set up one MORE binder. This is where I put the picture page, copy of the pattern front, or at least the line drawing. I write the pattern name or number on the top of the page and punch holes with a three-hole punch. I make separators from file folders and file these pages under Tops, Blouses, Pants, Jackets, Cardigans, Dresses, Lingerie or any breakdown you like. When I want to make something, I just look at the "picture binder" and find the pattern I want. Since I file the actual patterns numerically and alphabetical, no matter the designer or big 4, it is easy to find the one I want. This is actually like looking at a Pattern Book at the fabric store.

The shelving/cubby storage in the closet....would you be willing to share where that came from? Love it!

The shelf that the binders are on was built in shelving in the closet Sonia had. IKEA kallax shelves would work well though!

Love your ideas! Very organized! But lately there appears to be an tidal wave of videos I’ve watched where someone says “I have another video about that, I’ll link it below” and I go to look…and it’s not there! Not just you, I’ve encountered this SO MUCH lately! 😄

Great tips thanks Sonja... I’ve done the same with the front page of the patterns but I’ve placed them in a yellow A3 envelope, circle the sizes and if I need to draw out either the front or the back bodice I use a tracing material for it. Folders are a great addition too ;) Cheers

Do you fold up your assembled PDF patterns? It isn't clear in the video. I trace mine onto Pellon 830 Easy non woven tracing material. It's lightweight and durable.

I had just ordered some from Walmart thinking this would be an improvement over light interfacing. Glad to know this is the right material.
