Hey, kids, this is what you missed, growing up now: A song made for a tiny computer with a melody that stuck in your head for 30 years - and then the joy of hearing it played like a gift from heaven ...
Hello I am 44 years old, I was 15 years old when this game was released. I loved the music so much that as with other c64 games I would load the games just to listen to the music. Wizball, Thing on a Spring, Ocean Loader music, Green Beret Loading music, Rambo 1stblood part 2 to name a few. Rambo high score table music was great. Well done for this modern take on a classic game score, brilliant, loved it. 10/10.
Just in case you don`t know, Google "c64 sid music player" and also for c64 SID files and you should have no problem listening to the original music exactly as it was. It is very easy and so quick to get going, this will take you back to the day, amazing times, we were there when home computers were born, you can`t buy that experience, but we can emulate it :-)
Perfectly catches the spirit of Martin. I met Martin on the PCW show in London in 1988. I miss him. Bravo Reyn, you got that C64 feeling. Goosebumps in 1987, goosebumps 33 years later.
I always come back to this awesome live remix. I remember playing this in two-player mode with my friend, I was the cat and he was the wizard. The game was great but Martin Galways music was just exceptional and this is so true to the original, but brought to this day and age. Just masterful, I get tears to my eyes just remembering those times as a kid, without a worry in the whole world.
yknow, I had it in my head I was going to to an acapella version of the wizball intro but then I ran into this and frankly this needs to be seen by more people, this is *amazing*. Moved me to tears
UNBELIEVABLE! Even more the fact that it took me 13 years to stumble over your channel, your works and much more this incredible masterpiece of live performance. To me Wiz(z)ball was an almost unplayable/live unperformable tune since the 1980s... you proved me wrong - thanks a lot!
Keep coming back to this awesome version of a great C64-soundtrack. You should do some more for this channel. Especially some of your own tunes as you were a fantastic C64-artist yourself (Last Ninja 3)!
So, this guy heard Wizball as a kid and thought - I know how this should be played - and now, after years of learning to play all the instruments and gathering the equipment... we have the result. Time well spent my friend. Thank you.
Quite possibly one of the world's finest musicians. His ear for a tune, his ability to improvise and of course, his skill with umpteen instruments is just mind-blowing. I could list to Reyn play all day long.
This is like the game itself! The game is about giving back the universe its color. Reyn gives us back the great music of the game, in an ever becoming richer way. thx!
This, your´s Rendition of this Soundtrack, in your Church, keeps shredding me to Tears...Tears for the love to the magic of Muzak! I wish you´d continue releasing these magnificient Remixes...those are the fuel of my life by now! ;) Without you Muzak would be less good!
As a kid of the eighties vividly remembering playing Wizball at a friends' C64 I was mesmerized by the sound of that SID chip. Thank you for bringing back fond memories. Great performance!
this Remix is a dream. i´m 43 and have a huge original c64 collection, including this game. c64 times defined video games musix. I hear such music in my car. my son likes it , too. These times can´t be beaten. I loved Last Ninja 1 Tunes, too and so many more….
This sent chills up my spine just as the original did the first time i loaded the game from a cassette tape all those years ago. I remember sitting there staring at the title screen waiting for the entire track to finish before I began playing the game. I always thought this track was amazing. Martin Galway is a legend in my books -- and so is this guy!
Sorry. 2.2K Likes and 26 downvotes, what is wrong with people? This is fantastic on so many levels, even if you have no idea what "Wizball" was and who Martin Galway is , this is still sonically beautiful!! I hate the Internet ;-)
Ça fait plus de 10 ans que j’écoute cette musique de ouff. J’adore l’original mais là en acoustique c’est génial. Je rêve de faire comme toi un jour un kiff dans une église. Merci merci merci pour ce voyage musicale
+Harry Morris "A thousand mile march starts with one step." Do it - in five years you'll be five years older whether you like it or not, by then you could be an intermediate pianist and guitarist with a whole new world of friends and an emotional communcation with music you wouldn't have believed. Don't ever put anyone on a pedestal, they were where you are now once.
+Harry Morris Everyone sucks the first time they try, but pretty much everyone will play a decent tune after 1000 hours practice. You do need talent to compose music as good as Galways' or Hubbards' but nearly anyone can play it if they are ready to work for it.
Happy memories, the SID chip played a big part of computer music back in the 80's. This Reyn guy is a natural born musician and he really is on another level. Amazing talent, thanks for the c64 remixes they are awesome, I wish I could go back in time just to listen to this stuff again for the first time. I am 47 years old now and have tinnitus so my ears are permanently damaged, but I would do it all again. When CBM made the sid chip they really didn't know what they opened up. Thanks to all the music writers, Ben Daglish, Martin Galway, Rob Hubbard to name a few.
Hey, kids, this is what you missed, growing up now: A song made for a tiny computer with a melody that stuck in your head for 30 years - and then the joy of hearing it played like a gift from heaven ...
Welll said.but they willl not understand maybe in their ownway 30 years from now
The music of Wizball sounds great today! Great cover from Reyn, congrats!
i played the 2007 remake version as a kid and it was awesome so technically i didn't miss it at all!!
This vid needs a "LOVE SO MUCH I'M GUNNA CRY" button... "LIKE" doesn't come anywhere near close enough to explaining how much I LOOOOVVVEEE this
i hear u
:-)
agree 100%
your comment hits my heart!
I hug him for doing this. Well done. 🥰😉👻🐼😁😀♥️

I'm 42 and agree with everything you said! loading a game just to listen to the music was an amazing thing back in the day! Much respect!
Good, I wasn`t the only one.
Rambo and Green Beret were faves of mine. By the good man, Martin Galway as I believe!
Just in case you don`t know, Google "c64 sid music player" and also for c64 SID files and you should have no problem listening to the original music exactly as it was.

superb! i actually get a lot of remixes from remix.kwed.org/. great site.
I've been listening to this for years and I still get goosebumps when the guitar kicks in around one minute into the track
I love this version of the legendary Wizball theme song. and it was a pleasure meeting you at XParty 2024. One of the three crazy Italian guys.
Thank you! And hello from the crazy Dutch guy.
2022 at age 47 and played Wizball as a kid on my C64. Just ran across this and WOW. Heaven on my speakers.
Perfectly catches the spirit of Martin. I met Martin on the PCW show in London in 1988.
I miss him. Bravo Reyn, you got that C64 feeling.
Goosebumps in 1987, goosebumps 33 years later.
Martin's still alive. Or do you mean "miss him" in a different manner?
I always come back to this awesome live remix. I remember playing this in two-player mode with my friend, I was the cat and he was the wizard. How does this NOT have 1 million views? Amazing performance!
Exactly what I thought!!
Because sadly, people rather listen to mediocrity like Imagine Dragons
12 years later and just as awesome
C/64 owners ... just click (and sit down).
:)
You are a super underrated musician
This is how my c64 sounded to my young mind. I bloody love this so much
yknow, I had it in my head I was going to to an acapella version of the wizball intro but then I ran into this and frankly this needs to be seen by more people, this is *amazing*. Moved me to tears
This is brilliant, I wanna personally slap the 29 dislikes. How is it possible not to like this ? \m/
Wizball was one of the coolest games for the Commodore 64 and the music was unbelievably complex. Great job, man!
Still one of the very best videos on RUclips, after 13/14 years. First heard it in 2009, and it still makes the hairs on my arms stand up!
I keep on coming back to this one. Pure awesomeness!!
me too :)
same
I am back, again :-)
I am crying. Oh, Martin. (And Reyn of course)
YEAH MANNNNN THAT ROCKS. Damn 1987 what a great Time with the Commodore C 64. Wizball was a MUSTHAVE in the Floppy Collection. ;)
Fun fact anyone? Reyn is not only an amazing musician, he actually did some legendary C64 soundtracks himself! Last Ninja 3 anyone?!
Keep coming back to this awesome version of a great C64-soundtrack. You should do some more for this channel. Especially some of your own tunes as you were a fantastic C64-artist yourself (Last Ninja 3)!
This guy has talent. I wish I had that much talent.
C64
Ah good times!!
@@REYNmusician Reyn.. any chance of a new .sid for the Breadbox? /Wile Coyote
As long as Iive I will revisit this performance whenever I want a reminder of what brilliance is.
I think he does it incredible justice.
So, this guy heard Wizball as a kid and thought - I know how this should be played - and now, after years of learning to play all the instruments and gathering the equipment... we have the result. Time well spent my friend. Thank you.
Incredible. I used to play this game all the time.
I used to play Wizball with my little sister in 1989, so many memories. You're awesome
Blinkin' awesome! No surprise this was done in the golden age of RUclips.
Jeezo! The one game I really remember playing on the C64 was Wizball. The music blew me away then, but this is something else. Long live the C64!
I used to load the game, turn off the lights in my room, turn tv brightness knob to minimum and stay there in awe listening to it. It was 1987.
How beautiful is this! Am I the only one with goose bumps.
Quite possibly one of the world's finest musicians. His ear for a tune, his ability to improvise and of course, his skill with umpteen instruments is just mind-blowing. I could list to Reyn play all day long.
Reyn is so impossibly great. Giana sisters great.
The best video I have seen on RUclips so far. Genius!
I have the game music as ringtone...I have missed calls because I wanted to listen to the music...
Wait what! So many emotions right now. Never would have thought I needed this a few years ago but hey.
I love your work, please never stop.
Still outstanding after all this time!
You deserve more subscribers!!
This is like the game itself! The game is about giving back the universe its color. Reyn gives us back the great music of the game, in an ever becoming richer way. thx!
Wederom ff komen luisteren... werelds kerel! 100% goed!
thank you for all of your fantastic work. bravo sir
The guitar parts on this pretty much perfectly capture what I think Martin Galway was going for. Flipping excellent work- great feel!
If he makes a living out of this, what a contented life he must lead.
This, your´s Rendition of this Soundtrack, in your Church, keeps shredding me to Tears...Tears for the love to the magic of Muzak!
I wish you´d continue releasing these magnificient Remixes...those are the fuel of my life by now! ;)
Without you Muzak would be less good!
Thanks for goosebumps, tears and memorys of my youth and C64 times...
What a fanstastic work and interpretation!
I've watched all of your videos and I'm convinced you've got it man. You've got it all right in the palm of your hand. Love it!

Still outstanding. Excellent. Brilliant.
And simply beautiful!
As a kid of the eighties vividly remembering playing Wizball at a friends' C64 I was mesmerized by the sound of that SID chip. Thank you for bringing back fond memories. Great performance!
It's been a while since I've come across such a crescendo of awesomeness. Uplifting and inspiring - this is what I live to hear! Thanks Reyn!
That was a tour de force! I enjoyed this as both an old-school C64 gamer and as a musician. What a great performance. Amazing work, Reyn!
7 people had a ZX Spectrum....
Hey, I had a ZX Spectrum but the C64 music in Wizball is still one of my all time favourites! Along with Green Beret and Monty on the Run! 👍
@mick taylor is there an official channel for MG music?
Lol
😀
I think Reyn might be the most talented man alive, just in general!
This bloke is a legend....nuff said...
One of the best games and music from the good ol 64, happy days ;-)
Wizball am C64er war einfach der Hammer und ich erinnere mich noch sehr gern and die Zeit zurück ...
Just came back to this, it's EPIC
OMFG. I just watched the pinnacle of RUclips. Just wow. Thank you!
this Remix is a dream. i´m 43 and have a huge original c64 collection, including this game. c64 times defined video games musix. I hear such music in my car. my son likes it , too. These times can´t be beaten. I loved Last Ninja 1 Tunes, too and so many more….
My God, it's so beautiful, tears to my eyes, blinded by so much musical beauty !
Genuine reaction to the video: Holy F*CK that was awesome. Talking about a one man band, this was something else 😍
Hey.. it is Reyn :D The king of C64 music himself !!!
Best video game song ever in my book! Full credit to Mr Galway and yourself for this performance.
There is always the opportunity to hear them when Reyn have a Sunday service at Slayradio.
Wow.....you just made an old(ish) man very happy...
Still listen to this outstanding piece of music! Take a bow, Reyn.
Very good rendition of a classic tune!
10 years later and this is still one of my favourite songs ever.
@filmnoirist Practice, practice... and more practice.... the frustrating thing is the more you practice the easier it looks... :-S
Reyn You're a wizard!
I just finished playing a game of Wizball, and got online to read about it's developement and stumbled on this. Very, very nice!
This sent chills up my spine just as the original did the first time i loaded the game from a cassette tape all those years ago. ooooh I am sooo loving this version of the classic game I used to play when I was a kid,
Great cover of great music from a great game. Now what more can you ask for?
I keep coming back to this. Love it!
I bow to you and your greatness. I am speechless and i am going now... to remain silent...

Amazing! Most realistic computer-animation I have ever seen !! Perfectly synced with the soundtrack from the super-group I keep forgetting the name.
Greeting from a C64 fan down here in Argentina!
love your work.....amazed!!!!
Genius. You rock.
Reminds me of the most excellent music the Future Dudes were listening to.
Ça fait plus de 10 ans que j’écoute cette musique de ouff. J’adore l’original mais là en acoustique c’est génial. Je rêve de faire comme toi un jour un kiff dans une église. Merci merci merci pour ce voyage musicale

Dude, you're awesome, truly
I'm 20 years younger now :-) Thanks so much!
Classic music of the old SID chip done by a very talented young man.
Brilliant!

Goosebumps. Each time.
Cool rendition of a classic. Nice.
I wish I could play an instrument. I love this. I loved the original. Awesome piece of music
