Finally we reach the moment where Peppino and Pizza Face are fighting shirtless in the rain! And Peppino already reached all the power he'll ever need!
I love the Boss Rush twist at the end. So many games either have a boss rush as the penultimate level before the final boss, or subverts it entirely by making you skip past it...but Pizza Face sets it up as a genuine new phase for his fight, but Peppino is so DONE WITH HIS SHIT by now that he plows through all of them through pure Italian Rage and Gustavo as an assist item. Makes the final pile driver so much more satisfying

i really like that the first phase is like the classic super mario world bowser in his flying clown car, mechanically, but then it really goes off the rails
I had that Mario game super young, and it took me actual weeks to figure out how to fight bowser haha.

Someone mentioned it in another video but I love the fact Pepperman has extra health before the gauntlet. So it implies he trained for a rematch but still got decimated by Peppino xD
The Guatavo final boss “assist” is one of my fav gimmicks in this game

The lesson to learn here, NEVER mess with a small business owner when they are up against the wall.

The smile I got from the opening of the game never left the entire time I was playing, to the point when I was constantly either laughing or cheering while I has having a blast going through the Tower.
That and the amazingly cathartic final fight solidifies Pizza Tower as my GOTY.

I really hope you learn this game in your own time, Woolie. It's legitimately one of my favorite games ever, and was the first game i've ever actually speedrun. there were all sorts of tricks to learn left, from the uses of the supertaunt, to the drop canceling, mastering the turning while running. Honestly when you just learn the whole level and it all flows together seamlessly, it's so fucking tight. Not to mention the soundtrack was fucking incredible, I still get parts of unexpecentcy phase 3 stuck in my head from time to time.
You can pick up Snotty on the way out if he's still alive.
With Pizza Tower cleared, Woolie's reward was the news that the original Reboot tapes have been found.
Also the stories about pizza in the bag caused unblockable soul damage.
Pizza in the bag was such an appropriate story for pizza tower. So much of the tower is greasy and gross in the way that you just know pizza in the bag was.

I do hope Woolie takes a bit of time to discover the extra tech this game has, and just how fast this Italian on the edge can move.
all the power bomb stuff is also likely a throw back to Wario but specifically Wario World by Treasure
As someone who loves the parrying in this game i wish Woolie didn't try to paryy every single attack. It's sort of possible but the simplest method is just getting out of the way lol.

As Peppino fought the fraud of Italian cousine, Pizza f**ker, he got enraged beyond his limits. Pizza f**ker shrunk back in fear and then the Italian that stood above It ALL said, 'Stand proud, you're Pizza'
This fight is one part Mega Man boss rush and one part Bowser and it works really well. Though It's got enough originality in it too.
The knight cheeses hold their forks vertically while in mid air, so you can grab them before they hit the ground, which is why you got those weird frame perfect grabs.
I've been going back to do P-ranks recently and all things told the combo timer feels pretty generous unless you make catastrophic mistakes or get knowledge checked. Even if you don't go back to P-rank the whole game I really recommend doing it for at least John Gutter or Golf to get a feel for hos amazing the movement in Pizza Tower is.
I want to shout out John Gutter’s Chef Tasks. The one for getting a giant combo and the one for clearing the level in 2 minutes really teach you how fluidly you can move in the game. I think it was very clever to put those tough tasks in the first level. Once you’ve pulled them off, it’s not far to go from there to attempting a P rank. After all, getting that combo task basically required a perfect combo anyway…
When I started doing P ranks, I found it very satisfying and I just kept wanting to do more of them.
@@enlongjones2394 The 99 combo one is really good because it's the maximum amount of enemies the level can ever have, so it asks you to be a little less efficient in terms of just pure speed, and to really understand the routes in the level.
@@GenericSoda precisely. Putting those two in the first level is an eye opener.
the only p-rank that I remember feeling kind of scuffed was Gnome forest, particularly there's some part where you end up running right along the bottom, spring up to the middle to go back left, and then to the right again up top, and the only way I could ever find to keep my combo there was to clip some enemies on the top route with a super taunt.
But hey, it worked.

P ranking is fun to do, though i only had it in me to P rank my favorite levels, i know some people have taken it to p rank every stage. I suggest trying to P rank the first stage. Its simple and still gives you the thrill of it

i hope they do some P Ranks and go back for the true ending. this game is fun to watch people play no matter what it is they're doing in it
