I have been studying mushrooms out in the field for four years now so I am in the forest almost everyday. There is a Red- belted polypore mushroom that I have been visiting on a tree stump for almost 3 years now. Atleast once a month or so. This mushroom was big when I found him and has more than doubled it’s size. This mushroom gives off billions of spores…which are like mushroom seeds…into the air every year. Now that is COOL! 🌱🌷☀️🌎💙

Check to see if he continues to grow or die or if the tree he is eating is around much longer. Most mushrooms eat wood for energy right ? I have heard that the forests are dying or at the very least damaged and ability to grow is gone which can lead to only one thing. Mushrooms are so cool some of the only foods that have vit d are mushrooms if they are grown exposed to sunlight. 99% of foods don’t have vit d to supply if we consume it. I might be wrong but I did read this somewhere recently.

Being out there so much, have you noticed the number of different species in just one square foot? I sat in a sunny spot in the forest and was just amazed. It's not how seeds fall. You would expect tiny monoculture patches, I think the Mushrooms tell the seeds when their time to grow is, touch them with life. Crazy diversity.

You can have his microbiome. He has talked about plant based diets with an emphasis on diversity. There has been some research that shows eating 30 different plant foods a week is the sweet spot for your gut biome. You count fruits, veggies, legumes, nuts, grains, and even different spices. It's not as hard as it sounds.
Anecdotally, my gut feels great now. I made a lifestyle change and really started prioritizing fruits, veggies, grains and less processed foods plus exercise. Got me out of a 9 year bout of depression. What's weird about it though is that the vicious cycles that came with the depression have been reversed. They're benevolent cycles now and you can feel the momentum in the same way you feel the vicious ones.
Zach Bush doesn't seem to be against meat consumption as far as I can tell, but he does emphasize plant based.

I don’t know if I could win that struggle with everything that is going g on today. In my 64 years, I have never felt so hopeless about the future. I have never seen so much hate. I have found myself worrying about humanity even surviving, let alone flourishing. It seems far more likely that even if there were enough good people to make an effort, there is too much greed and power at the top. Only one evil man could destroy everything. I know that I would be a much happier person if I could believe that Zach is right, but I am just not able to see that right now. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ever get goosebumps on your face? Well, I just did. Nail on the head. We are nature, we perceive ourselves as separate which is the superpower of our ability to see its beauty, but why do we have the ability to perceive beauty if we're the only beings living out of balance perhaps due to this differentiation?
I do think there may be a bit of hubris in us believing we're the only beings with the capacity to marvel. Everyone else seems to get it. We all come to this world with different qualities: capacity to see UV, the use of sonar, an extra lobe in the brain. I think, typically human, we sometimes believe ourselves qualified to define others' experiences.
Favorite is a tier and Zach is right in there. What a gift.

Forgive my parallelism. Perhaps the same holds true for all of the world's spiritual practices. The existence of hell/extinction whose bitterness some have already tasted and the firm belief in the existence of heaven on earth is connecting so much to my own experience in the orthodox christian church, ecclesia, which in ancient Greek means invitation out of the self, to join a web of other people who are also there to share similar stories, join in hope for things like world peace and forgiveness and love for enemies. In this process it seems one finds Heaven on earth. The process of saying goodbye to the "I" and embracing the "we". Thank you Zach for awakening hope and yearning for a brighter tomorrow.

I want to thank Zack for all the fun facts that he always has offered us. It it what I want to hear. The direct effect of what is being done and also the crazy human body processes. To a lame person like myself reading those studies is a waste of time because of access and also the abbreviations used to describe every cell and process makes regular peoples having to try to google what those abbreviated words are and it’s very difficult to find. I love how much he offers the public to visualize what’s happening in our body. It makes me feel powerful , hearing all the things going on in my body ,maybe due being “sick “ makes me appreciate what my body is doing for me not the other way that I’m sick and therefor unable to function again. The gratitude for the human experience is renewed. That’s what doctors should encourage in people or patients.

    This bit was particularly mindblowing:
"The influence of the environment on something that we thought was as stable as our genes - now we find out a single gene can have 200-400 different endpoints. It can produce 200 or 400 different proteins depending on its environment. You extrapolate that out towards 20,000 genes, and you find out how you could make four million different bodies from the genes your mother and father gave you. And the body you have today is not the result of mom and dad but the effects of the environment within the womb and, more mysterious than that, the effects of the environment on your parents at the time that you were conceived. So, their emotional status, their physical and chemical environments determined how those 20,000 genes would behave and what body they would create in the womb."

Be aware, be mindful, listen, understand and get to optimal health. May all be happy.

Really felt elevated by this conversation. I wonder if Rich could interview Iain McGilchrist? I am reading his book The Matter with Things, which explains how we humans function cognitively in 2 distinct ways: one that co-creates reality in a seamless flow; and one that ultimately exploits and renders reality lifeless.

Americans push often their voice down, so it sounds more scientific or more important, less sensitive etc. He is an extreme version of this. Rich also gets into this very often but then sometimes escapes it for some seconds with more singing vowels. I almost can't follow Zach because of this. Good conversation

There is a strange similarity in what Kanye was trying to say with Jesus being the absolute best expression of the psychological self. Forgiving and loving everyone.. and what Zach is saying about this tipping point for humanity and what has to take place. Both are looking at the same inflection points.. Kanye is clearly one of the prophets among us , maybe we should be paying more attention to things like unconditional love, forgiveness, trauma, and what truly is the best expression for humanity as a whole. I know there is some shock value here, just food for thought as a bipolar individual who sees the world with a different lens.
We hear Gabor mate talking about how the highly sensitive , whether it adhd , autism , or bipolar are the medicine men, wounded healers , shamans of the tribe. What if Kanye is trying to heal the world on a major scale by effecting the collective unconscious and we are the stubborn ones.
How powerful is true forgiveness and unconditional love? What sort of separation from ego does that take ?

Wow, sounds true! Zach thank you for inspiring transdimensional witnessing. I feel very affirmed about all of the comments below that we are so many nourishing this rebirthing leap into existence.
When you speak about 2 self realized beings meeting in 1:30h who transcended the split egoic mind something was recognizing the wisdom in me.
Since 2 months I've been shoved to learn about Isis (the Egyption Lineage of light) the Ankh healing techniques with the close connection of Mary Magdalene and Yeshua as an examplary enlightend couple that you are possibly hinting towards.
Simultaneously the works of Vanessa Andreotti and Matias di Stefano, Robert Edward Grant and Richard Rudd are connecting within me. I feel like the quantum mycelium of whats possible you talk about.
So may we all resonate in the direction of this truth, hospice the old and doula the new into exsistance. Thank you for your BEING!

I agree too, the massive shift required for humanity can only be done with great world leaders in corporation, but they are not there. We just have to embrace what comes next, great changes has come and gone through human history.

People love to hear good things about their bad habits - and eating animals is apart of that, and at a “convenient” price. ‘Taste buds > Health. Taste buds > Our Planet. Win at all cost, sell as much as possible, be a slave to the grind. If you aren’t working 12+ hours a day, then you’re wasting time.’ We must move away from this mindset.

Eating animals has nothing to do with habits.
It's simply more dogma from zealots.
Keep that stuff to yourself and quit trying to 'convert' people to your own camp.

1:18:22 got me. I love to see/hear/witness "scientific" men express what I have been receiving and understanding about life and this species. I often do not have the most eloquent words or language or patience haha to describe what they are talking about consciousness awareness and how we actually don't know SHIT about the human body and what makes it truly healthy and functioning optimally...but I'll tell you this.. When I experienced my spiritual awakening and finally started settling down from some really intense awareness...I told myself.. I may not live to see it all happen, but I want to be deeply rooted like an Oak Tree..and really help and support the future generations/species to the best of my ability because WE ARE WORTH IT. Humans...right now feel a little crazy..and things feel uncomfortable but this is what happens when something is birthed. Really thankful to witness two men talk about life and healing this way. It means so much to me and truly reminds me I am not alone.
