  • To the 37,000 drivers who cross this span every day, it is simply Chicago's Roosevelt Road Bridge - but to those who come to watch train after train - I can't think of a more fitting name than Railfan Bridge. Much has changed since I last stood on the crest of this span 20 years ago, but I'm happy to report that the trains and tracks are as busy as ever.
From this lofty perch, you can catch Amtrak and Metra trains coming and going from Chicago Union Station, see maintenance being done on locomotives right beneath your feet, and witness train sets being assembled for their cross-country runs. There's a reason why countless photographers and railfans have come to this bridge since it opened in 1929, and I hope my video will inspire you to make the pilgrimage to this special place very soon. If you've already been there, I would love to hear from you - so please share your memories in the comments .
FROM ME TO YOU - I want to thank each and every one of you for taking that leap of faith by watching and subscribing. STAY TUNED - I guarantee more exciting trains in 2025.

Thanks for the video. If that's right, the Union station is the main station of the windy city. It's a pity that diesel is still used there. There is more going on here at Berlin Central Station. I've put you a link about the history of Berlin Central Station. The number of ICE ́s to Cologne, Hamburg and Munich has now almost doubled. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin_Hauptbahnhof Greetings from Berlin/ Germany. Sven

@@RovingRailfan Berlin is always worth a visit. As a hobby railway filmmaker, you are busy in and around the main station for one day alone. I have already seen enough tourists from the USA in the main station who could not get out of their amazement. For you, it's a completely different railway world.
