Thanks Ash! I LOVE my Litter Robot, it is legit the best purchase of 2020 that I had! I will never go back to scooping. It has also helped my female cat’s UTI issues since the LR cleans itself after each use!
Any information or feedback on how long the litter robot lasts? Three years & 4 months ago I bought 2 Petrie automatic litter boxes. One for my son & myself. Mine is still working well. My sons’ works, but once it rotates, it doesn’t always stop rotating & he has to manually stop it. I am starting to research automatic litter boxes, but there are many more on the market now.
1st off, thank you so much for your review! It is very helpful to know someone with a lot of cat experience liked the Litter Robot. I have 3 cats and I have a lot of health issues with my joints so it makes cleaning their boxes EXTREMELY difficult, I have tried just about every other type of "self-cleaning" litter box and I haven't had much luck with any of them so far. Question: Do you allow all of the kitties under your care to use this litterbox or only your cat(s)?
Usually the older kittens wind up using it too but the litter robot doesn’t work with cats under 5lbs so I have to tell it to cycle if I’m going to let them use it!
I’ve had my litter robot for 5 years. It was $1000 Aussie and for the first year it continuously stalled and the seller had to come fix it. It has now completely died. I am going to try and replace the faulty parts, but overall, I would not spend the money again. The footprint is too large, the sensors for full litter tray are finicky and it is heavy and hard to clean. Having said that customer service is excellent.
I have both and I agree ..LR is a better product. I was able to fix my LR when it got spoilt. Just replace a component. I will probably throw the petree when it gives issue. My question is though, is there a dump litter function for petree? I have to physically turn the thing out to remove old sand. Did I miss an instruction??
Ashley, what litter do you use for your robot? Mine broke last year but I decided to go ahead and try for a replacement as it was under warranty still and I’m getting a new one! They said some clumping litters are bad for it. I use Cats Pride for my other boxes.
Having 6 cats, is this Litter Robot good for the squat then stand up while going type? He needs a tall/top entry because he will go over the side of regular ones.
I would think so but luckily they have the money back guarantee if it doesn’t work. There’s also an extra piece you can buy to make the doorway a little higher for cats that dig in the litter a lot or pee higher.
There’s actually a few reasons why this is better! It immediately cleans the waste, so it’s not sitting around until you get to it- which means your cat also always has a clean box. You don’t have to take the waste out ever time, it just collects it and you take it out every few days (depends on how many cats you have). I love mine. I won’t go back to a regular box unless I have to with kittens out. My cats love it too.
@@YoungestOIdCatLady have any of your cats had diarrhea in it? My older cat has a bout of it occasionally and I’m concerned that it wouldn’t get scooped properly.
@@kayhenry6293 I've had foster kittens have diarrhea in it, and it's not great. If the litter doesn't clump well, the stool can smear all over. Giving the box a deep clean is a gigantic pain in the butt, but fortunately I don't have to do that too often.
@@kayhenry6293 I have 2 cats and the inside gets pretty dirty after 2 weeks, of which I would deep clean the insides with wet tissues every 2 weeks. And use the 15min wait timer, so the litter would have more time to clump better and less sticks to the sides when the robot is rotating during cleaning cycle.
does the litter robot only work with clay litter? we use a clumping wood litter (okocat) because clay makes one of my babies have itchy toes and i would love to get one of these. right now my poor s/o has to scoop all the boxes bc i physically can't but i can probably manage emptying the drawer every few days.
I've used pine litter, and it does okay. Clay is definitely better, in my opinion. I wonder if walnut shell or similar, something heavier, would work better than the pine litter.
How long have you been using these so far? Would you be willing to give an update closer to when the warranty expires? (I've had good and bad experiences with self cleaning litter boxes. It's a love hate relationship at timez. After your review I am super interested in the litter robot). Thank you!
I thought mine would too but they both jumped right in! I do know of a few people who’s cats wouldn’t use it, they do give you information on how to get your cat acclimated to it.
Instruction manuals for EVERYTHING are getting worse and worse. It's beyond annoying especially if you are doing an install of something and its costing you money. Unfortunately for me I have Allem (the cat in my avatar) Allen pees straight against the wall or upwardly so I have to buy big rubbermaid tote containers and cut a hole in the side and one in the lid for light. If thereis no lid pee goes sailing. 🤬🤷♂️
I have 3 cats and since adopting my kitties I have had a lot of health issues which makes cleaning their boxes very difficult for me to do so a litter box system like this is VERY beneficial for a lot of us! It may seem "lazy" to some people and/or an unnecessary purchase but it really depends on the needs of the kitty household. If I had to pay someone to take care of the boxes on a regular basis I imagine it would cost more in 90 days than this litterbox system will.
Love my Litter Robot as well. Was skeptical about spending that much on a litter box, but it’s awesome!
At the end you should have played the Blue Danube Waltz when the robots were turning. 🤣
Thanks Ashley! We are saving for an army of litter robots and i see lots of copy cats so its nice to know LR is the best choice and worth the $
2:30 ,, i swear i thought something felt next to me lmfao
Rest in peace Ashley. ❤

One of these would be so helpful for my cats as they get older and pickier and for my fibromyalgia.
Totally!
The Litter Robot seems like the better choice in terms of usability but wow it is LOUD.
I have 2 litter robots and honestly best purchases I've made for my cats.
Rip Ashley ❤

Hows petree doin after 4 moths ?

Not that I have found! The instructions were really bad too.
I'm having a hard time finding the dimensions of either litter box, can you help?

I’ve always used the clump and slide. I think it’s arm and hammer.

I think cleaning the litter box by hand will give the best clean. Unless you have a pressing need for one, I’d just skip it.

It works with fine grained litter. So no pellets.

I’ve had mine a year now! Still working perfectly.
@@YoungestOIdCatLady Awesome thank you so much!
Why it’s so loud? For this Price it should be have a silent Motor.
It is louder than the Petree but honestly I don’t notice it because it’s not in the same room as me. I’d still take it any day over not having one!
This is bias. I have both, and the Petree is way better and much less bother.
My cats would be scared to go in there compared to a traditional litter box lol

This is a scam. there is no warranty and no technical support. They didn't fix my robot still in warranty
Which brand do you have? Reviews I’ve seen for Litter-robot show good customer support, the Petree one seems to have NO customer support.
Can you please explain? I need to decide early since my new cat is coming soon
Definitely not a scam. Petree had bad customer support but I’ve never had a problem with Litter Robot.
IN MY 78 YEARS, THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS I HAVE EVER HEARD OF.
Not sure how :) Helps me clean less which is amazing since I’m also cleaning up after dozens of animals sometimes.
Not to mention people who have arthritis or problems bending down. This actually is very helpful to a lot of people!
