Larry was the best. He was my uncle. I learned alot from him. His 29 Nash was the first Hot Rod I remember. I miss him a bunch. He's seen and liked alot of Harley's that I've built over the years, but he passed before I finished my Mustang. Sure would liked to have his thoughts on it.
Thanks Buddy! They dont turn up often. Pretty popular drag cars back when because of their lightness. Not many around because of it. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! Appreciate that! This old girl will be on the channel so You'll have to stop back ! Any suggestions on anything, hit us up!! Thanks for stopping by.
Yea Buddy! Thanks! Rather bust a knuckle on this old crap than doin about anything else. Enjoy them while we're still aloud to have them I guess. Thanks for watching!
Yea man that's the dilemma. It woulda fit better without the torque converter off the engine. Woulda came back another 6 inches. Even so, thats alot of cuttin! Still up in the air over it. Thanks for watchin!
Yep! I think it had a backache too because of that big old lump of iron sackin it out! lol. We agree, we think we may just do that after the holidays. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!
You sound a lot like me! I brought my bobcat in for a simple engine swap and now it has the two right tires and the seat off of it! This should have only been a couple days and it grew roots for about two years now! But I am getting closer as soon as I get the ignition coil that I burned up by leaving the key on! I will get it out of the garage soon, I hope!
Yea that sounds familiar! I know the feeling, sometimes a job just takes a life of its own! We're always biting off more than we can chew lol. Thanks for watching and commenting! Appreciate ya
Well thank ya! We hope to get that all going soon. Once the Holidays are over were gonna be making some moves. Appreciate the response and the kind words. Also thanks for watching! Hope to hear from ya!
Yea that would be a good idea. We do try and keep it outta the weather, not only for rust but also to preserve the patina. Sadly the oil filter wasnt in the budget so the rust remover is pretty much in the same boat right now... Tis the season! lol.
It's always great to find someone that wants to keep a rare classic like this original as they can. These cars are rare as so many were BUTCHERED and turned into dragsters.
My thoughts exactly. Sometimes wish it were in worse shape so I wouldn't ride the old guilt train for hacking on it. If ever it would get any upgrades they would have to be in a way that did very little damage. Idk. Figure we have other stuff to mess with in order to delay any decisions for now. We think its awesome as it is. Thanks for watching!
I'd say it would be a good car to drink a cup of coffee to! You tube said we posted too early but glad we were able to catch ya before ya got busy! Thanks for watching, we appreciate ya!
@ I’m living in a retirement home, for me to get busy would be taking off the whole front clip of the Henry J to drop in the hemi, then pop the front clip back on. I remember that Indian head shellac from when I first used it back in 1976, great stuff.
Hope your in a good place.. if you were local we would come get ya and put ya to work! lol. Yea I wish I could buy deodorant that smells like that stuff lol. More than anything that stuff takes ya back for a second. Thats what the whole hobby does for us. Not in tune with the modern engine swaps and fancy digital stuff. Takes me in the wrong direction... Love anything that reminds us of better times. Well appreciate ya puttin up with us and hope to see ya back here! Thanks!
Nice little car .the boot setup is like a Standard 10 here in the Uk you have to remove the rear seat to get your stuff in there ..I think the seat back drops down forward to allow entry . ❤🇬🇧🇺🇸♥️👍🤝
Yep! That it does but the latches are missing so we have a couple pieces of electric fence wound around it to keep the seat up! Lotsa room back there when the seats down. Super cool old car. Thanks for watching!
Another great video . Love that car. I could sit and look at that dash for days. As far as the Hemi..... why not ! It's not a numbers match car anyway. But above all... it's your car , man. If you want a V8 in it, then.....so be it. I really liked the extra bonus clip at the end of the video. It gave a glimpse into how much of a pain in the butt filming is. Great job, guys. Every video is as good or better than the previous. Keep it up. Glad to hear my son ( Adrian ) joined as a member. He is pretty handy with a wrench... i knew he'd like you guys. Keep up the great work. Thanks for another great video. 👍
Thanks Man! Its parked close to that f250. They''ll be keepin each other warm at night for a while lol. Still debatin the engine swap. Figures we would go for the biggest lump of iron we could find to swap it lol. Oh well, time will tell. Appreciate ya watchin and commenting as always. Thanks for the continued support too. Yea Adrian as a plate with his name on it here next time you guys stop by! Thanks again!
Nope! Thats a Hillman Husky. Pretty rare aroud here as its the only one I've ever seen. Its a bare shell and we're still up in the air as to what to do with it. Make ya a good deal on it! lol. Thanks for watching!
Oh man, that's the way to find them! Crazy how that stuff can be hidden away for years then gone all the sudden huh? Hopefully someone got it and took care of it. Thanks for watching!
Hahaha at least partially! Took a little doin to get the spline outta the cluch so in order to not beat myself up too bad I'm gonna spread the blame out a little.. Deep down though.. That pipe was rammed in there to outta the way to drop that hemi in for a minute and forgot to put it back in place. Yea that pipe ruined our day lol. Good catch. Thanks for watching!
NOPE! lol. Some of those v6 mills are pretty respectable but not really period correct. Probably be one of the easiest swaps though! Thanks for tunin in!
Yep and I'll be danged if I didn't forget to mention that in the video. Dang brain fart. Yea the Allstates by Sears are every bit as cool and retro in my opinion. Like to have one someday. Thanks for swingin by and thanks for the reminder!
Definitely a fan of the channel. I am not afan of cutting up a good car to put an impractical engine. I'm pretty sure you can find a more powerful engine and trans combination that would fit better and be road worthy. Just my opinion.
Yea actually I'm a huge 340 Mopar fan and back in the day, that was the plan. In fact we scored a set of fenderwell headers for the car that I believe would fit fine. I really wasn't even completely sold on the Idea of that swap which was much less intrusive. Sooo the car is way back on the back burner till we figure it out. Till then, we're gonna keep havin fun with it as is! Thanks for watching!
@HustlehousePA1978 Henry the 8th .....Henry J should be named the 8th ,crazy 8 .....🎱 when it gets the V8 dropped in??? Google the song lol i can't stand that song 😂 Maybe the widow next door is a widow maker???
Yes sir! Always loved these things. Had one back in the day I bought outta a field and it basically fell down over the frame it was so bad. Got pretty lucky finding this one! Thanks for stopping by!
Hey Buddy! Yea thats wat came in it. Not the direction we wanted to go but maybe a flathead with a turbo or something!? Scratching my head now. Lol. Thanks for droppin by!
Haha Well ya got the Mopar part right but We are as much about period correctness as Mopar loyal.. I'd say you would find way more SBC swapped Henry J's out there than Small block Mopars. Lotsa them did run Hemis though. Way more cuttin on the Hemi swap though!
Hey Tim! Ok Buddy, we're gonna hold ya to it! lol. Just kiddin. I don't know buddy. Didn't get much response about the merch. Think we're slowly gonna set it up anyway. Thanks for the reply and thanks for the support, Bud!
Always wanted a hj but hemi is too heavy for the power it puts out. Friend of mine had one with a 283. Could actually pull the front wheels. Just saying.
Yep! They sure are lightweight and that's what makes them so fun! A small block would make way more sence. Just something about somethin that big under the hood. Dont think I have the heart to change the car. Keep watching and help us figure it out! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yea buddy! Finest engine ever built! Have a set of fenderwall headers for one that I think would fit right in there that we bought just for this car.! Very well could happen. Lol. Thanks for the Support and thanks for watching! Appreciate ya!
Haha I have a feeling we would lose more than one and be disowned by a few friends and family too! Yea that old J is in good hands. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Keep up the fantastic work

AWESOME Cars! My Dad #2 From Normalville Pa had one on an S10 frame........What a great find!
You may know him......Larry Ritenour with the Nash Metropolitans....
Yea buddy! I see a blue one at local shows on a 4x4 chassis. Maybe the same one?
Yep! I remember Larry. Awesome guy. I always wondered what ever happened to all his Metros. Thanks for watching... Nice 60 plymouth btw!
Yep. Nice to have all those good folks back. I remember Larry looked like a Big old Grizzly bear in that metro but was one of the kindest dudes around
Wow that's cool as hell yeah man that sounds great to hear ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks! Yea its a cool old car. Something makes me wanna wear a straw hat driving it though! lol. Thanks for watching!

Yea Buddy! Thanks! Rather bust a knuckle on this old crap than doin about anything else. Enjoy them while we're still aloud to have them I guess. Thanks for watching!
And the hemi would be awesome, I'd love to watch it that motor took up the room. Hard to cut up a car like that! Classic.
Yea man that's the dilemma. It woulda fit better without the torque converter off the engine. Woulda came back another 6 inches. Even so, thats alot of cuttin! Still up in the air over it. Thanks for watchin!

Now that little car had attitude with that big V8 sitting there and yeah I say get merch like you said start out slow and see how it goes
Yep! I think it had a backache too because of that big old lump of iron sackin it out! lol. We agree, we think we may just do that after the holidays. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!
@HustlehousePA1978 that thing would be a handful but it would be a fun handful and every time you drive it you can say hoho holy hell LOL
Haha yea I'm sure there would be a many a words said driving that thing... Its a bit of a death trap now! LOL
Well that's definitely a name to put fear into many people but hey with that big motor it will always be a handful but fun as hell HAHAHA
Agreed! lol

Well thank ya! We hope to get that all going soon. Once the Holidays are over were gonna be making some moves. Appreciate the response and the kind words. Also thanks for watching! Hope to hear from ya!
A suggestion why you had it up in the air try spraying rust oleum rust remover under her to help save it .
Yea that would be a good idea. We do try and keep it outta the weather, not only for rust but also to preserve the patina. Sadly the oil filter wasnt in the budget so the rust remover is pretty much in the same boat right now... Tis the season! lol.

Oh man, that's the way to find them! Crazy how that stuff can be hidden away for years then gone all the sudden huh? Hopefully someone got it and took care of it. Thanks for watching!
Maybe the exhaust pipe was keeping the engine from going in place. 😅😅😅😅

True statement my friend. Very true. Sometimes need a reminder though so Thanks!
Have you ever thought about a v6 in a small car like that.
NOPE! lol. Some of those v6 mills are pretty respectable but not really period correct. Probably be one of the easiest swaps though! Thanks for tunin in!
