Huh. Yeah. Nothing about the mod really increases tourism, but does increase culture massively, so all defense. Good observation. That is a real challenge.
The complete madness is quite entertaining, truth be told. "I keep peace; I make sure that nobody else gets any." Well, that's one definition of peace keeping....
Not surprised Ursa won but I was hoping he would was going to come up short. Again, the AI just can't compete with the creativity of a human player. Even with all the bonuses, it isn't equipped to plan ahead and try to cut off avenues of success. Impressive work!
@@UrsaRyan you really are! I hope that the AI for Civ VII will have some real ways to challenge players bc that would make for such great viewing. Relying solely on bonuses is just not as exciting
You're gonna be like the legendary billards player "Fats" Brown from the Twilight Zone episode "A Game of Pool". Every time you win on a new difficulty level, you'll feel great initially, then realize you now have to play on an even harder level. And then an even harder one. Forever. Because you have to keep being the best. Until finally you find a setup you just can't win. Then you're free.
Huzzah! Had the same thing happening with privateers. Once you engage them in a normal combat, like shooting a battleship armada, they are revealed, at least for the current turn.
That was a wild run. And even though you got a lucky start, the difficulty is top-notch until the end. Good job! :) Now on the Pangea map with the Aztecs and Eleanor in the game. So you can have much fun between the Eagle Warrior flood and loyalty pressure. :P
30:52 nice to see that Victoria is on the south of Vancouver Island in your game as well 34:28 nice touch to let the rocket fly vertically 35:51 the AI's score collapsing to a flat line looks like a patient dying in hospital :(
Well played GG. Quite impressive playthrough considering how tough this level is. Though you did you have a favorable start since you were far away from early aggression. Nonetheless, still excellent late-game strategy and execution. Avoiding early aggression is really tough with this mod, so need to be lucky in the spawn location.
This difficulty requires you to work a lot at the end, which is more than Deity offers. However it also seems like a lot of games would be near-instant resets too. Maybe there should be a time-scaling difficulty. Ancient era the AI has Deity level bonuses but they ramp up over time to make the late game more competitive
Realizing again this series just how much you've played and how you remember roughly what level the AI is at and you're at most games. I'm nowhere close to that level haha
Well I guess someone will have to invent level deity+++++++++++ before Ursa starts to have a hard time winning the game. But Civ7 is still a year away, there's plenty of time.
kinda dissapointed that ursa didnt come at georgia at the end since the timing was messed up, but hey it'd be a good epilogue of him retrieving estadio :>
Can’t believe you skipped over the units killed graph! That was the most I’ve seen you lose in ages, if not ever. I admire your willingness to throw units away to keep momentum up.
At 1:20, you were wondering how the AI saw your privateer. Attacking with a naval raider reveals it for a turn, so it was revealed when you attacked the battleship.
Legit strategic question here mate, why at 15:45 when you're doing the democratic shuffle, did you not add the merchant confederation card instead of Raj? personally, 66 gold per turn when youre at a DEFICIT of 90/turn would be way better than an extra 14 sci and culture?
Congratulations on the difficult win. I prefer games that you play where you have fun with non optimal strategies, so hope this difficulty only shows up on rare occasions
Absolute insanity, the bear can't be beaten. It seems that Deity++ and above difficulty levels really lean towards science victories, I'm wondering if a religion victory would be doable with all the buffs the AI gets 🤔
@@UrsaRyan would be a good mod. Never really needed it before but at this difficulty level it would be helpful. Also machine gunners should upgrade to anti air guns, which in real life had anti personnel capabilities too. Machine gunners aren't very good in the last era and the AI would have a lot more anti air then
Who would win:
- Computer on steroids that give him 300% of everything
- One bear boi
Question - is the bear boi armed with mighty amounts of crisps?
@@UrsaRyan by crisps you mean depredation cavalry and jet bombers?
"Helicopters are difficult to bomb"
That one F-15 in desert storm which scored a helicopter kill using an air-to-ground bomb
the irony of a british man playing as austrailia conquering canada is hilarious to me
This difficulty really kept the drama up right until the end, I think it’ll be fun to see how you fare in some… less favorable conditions
Winning a peaceful tourism game before the AI gets a science win on this difficulty setting is proving to be quite the challenge even with max spies
Huh. Yeah. Nothing about the mod really increases tourism, but does increase culture massively, so all defense. Good observation. That is a real challenge.
Yeah, even if you selectively warred, it might be quite difficult.
I like how civ youtubers go insane during the late game. Like with Potato, you just start hearing inane babble.
Nothing like hours of edited out turn times to give an impression of insanity
The complete madness is quite entertaining, truth be told. "I keep peace; I make sure that nobody else gets any." Well, that's one definition of peace keeping....

My apologies for ever doubting you.
Rest dear DwarfsRBest, I understand
the extra difficulty made the game much more interesting than with regular deity, cool vid
Huzzah! I must say, the thumbnail reminded me of that famous "The Empire Strikes Back" cover in a way, with those aircraft carriers.
That's awesome!

we'll see different spawns soon!
The last time I was this early I still had Porridge...
😆How was it? Just right, I hope
The In-betweeners "special friend" cracked me up. 👍
Everytime I see that episode XD

I was ready for the next game but yes, would have been funny = )
What I've learned is no matter how many raw yields you force feed the AI, they'll never quite work out how to mount an effective war.
Another great series!
I have faith in bears! Go bears
Huzzah!
*Well done winning this! So, as you done this relatively easily lol, EVERY GAME MUST BE SID MIER LEVEL lol* 💪👍

Settler being escorted by a GDR is so classic AI
this push into canada would have been such a good case for actually buying AA guns
£634 - This was done with UR making the choice to not centralise his trades routes to the University of Sankore.
Nice!
This with Roman Holidays and an AI fix that makes them focus on win conditions. i.e. optimising on science... that would be perfect
Plunder my homeland! I believe in you!
i'll try!! XD
Austraaaaaaalia raaaah
No one was in the room where it happened when Ursa destroyed Canada mwhahaha 😈
Huzzah!
Huzzah!
I’ve never seen so many Air promotions!
I rarely use them to be fair XD
The lack of a nuclear present on Canada is kind of depressing 😢
I just win too fast !
The GOAT!
When your bombers strike they don't get any advantages for fighting in foreign lands because the game regards them as base in your land.
works if you're killing units in your borders though = )
I wonder how this would have ended if you had noted your diplomatic score earlier.
This got gnarly so fast and ended even faster. I wonder if you can win on this difficulty without going to war
You can I'm sure but no war is a certain handicap at this level
Of Course Ursa wins the very first try on the new hardest difficulty!!
🖖
