Can we have a N2N revival with him playing Dan?

Wether you like this version or not... think about this: this is the song coming from Gabe's perspective. I honestly like them both.

    The lyrics of this version:
    Standing in this room
Well I see a lot of things
    Images that grab my heart
    Pulling at my strings
I’ve been told a hundred times it’s something I must do
It’s easier to say “it’s not you”
And all my fear just sits inside
    Fighting to get out
    Would anyone come running
    If they heard somebody shout
I guess this is what getting older is all about
    I’ve been helped, accused
    I’ve been lost, confused
I’ve been the boulder and the stone
    I’ve been led, astray
    I’ve been put, on display
    But I’ve never been alone
    I’ve unwrapped my pictures
And I’ve hung them on the wall
    I’ve used up all hooks
    Ensure that they won’t fall
Well I swept away the dust from my blanket on the bed
Everything’s in order of my head
See I’ve never had to bold the door
    Afraid of what’s outside
I’ve never had to face the world
    Without you as my guide
    This one’s long painful suicide
    I’ve been hurt, abused
    I’ve been asked, refused
I’ve been the sinus and the drone
    I’ve been marked and so
I’ve been forced, I’ve been told
But I’m weary to the bone
    And I feel claustrophobic
I’ve lost the comfort that I found
Oh my body is screaming but there’s no one around
    Eeeeeh oh oh
    Aaaah ooooh
    Oh looking in the mirror
    It’s a stranger’s face I see
    Someone else is anguished
But the tears belong to me
And I notice how they fall so easily
    I’ve been helped, accused
    I’ve been lost, confused
I’ve been the boulder and the stone
    I’ve been led, astray
    I’ve been put, on display
    I’ve been hurt, abused
    I’ve been asked, refused
I’ve been the sinus and the drone
    I’ve been marked and so
I’ve been forced, I’ve been told
    But I’ve never been alone
    I could never be alone

I keep wanting to sing along with him. But I only know the lyrics from the show so I just keep going "Nope, those are not the words he's singing."
I love this version though because it seems more generally applicable to everyone, while the one from the show of course fits better for the character specifically (though certainly it could other people's situations too).

I like this version of "I've Been". Dang, the lyrics are still powerful.

This feels like this came from a parallel universe Next to Normal production.

Does anyone know where to get the sheet music for this version?

I don't actually like this version of I've Been as much as the original one. The emotion seems less deep and cutting. It kind of reminds me of a country song? I mean, it's still really good. And Aaron's a god, as always.

+diefacingourfoes I prefer the versions from the Feeling Electric workshop recordings, 2002 and 2005 (sung by Norbert Leo Butz and Joe Cassidy respectively).

Agree with you to an extent, it does lack that emotional punch given by the version in the show... But, some of the lyrics are absolutely sublime

+diefacingourfoes It was actually a Tom Kitt Band original song (Tom Kitt being one of the composers, if you didn't know that). They decided to use it in Next to Normal and change the lyrics to make it fit the storyline. They thought it worked well in the show.

This version is definitely better for the situation though. It would never work on stage

I have watched other versions. I agree this works better in this venue, but it wouldn't be as impactful onstage.
