    Big like for the video but I'm so confused, how do I set Due date not as "Today" but as this week or month of something more than just Today? If I just pick a date on recurring task, will it be stuck on that date or will it move the date every time it repeats?

    Is there a way to have the date of a recurring task to be something else than the date is was created? For example, I have a fitness class every wednesday at 8PM, and I would like to make that a recurring task. But I like to have all my tasks created on sunday evening, so I can see all the things I have to do next week in advance. Is there a way to make a recurring template that is generated every sunday, but the task has the date of the following wednesday?

      Hey, great question. From my understanding (and I could be wrong) but I don't think that right now there is a way to do this. I 100% agree that would be useful. A mini solution would be to just copy and paste that fitness class to 10 following Wednesdays (using the month view) and it should only take a few seconds. Or if you have multiple tasks on a weekly basis, then you could create a button that generates a bunch of tasks that you drag to the correct day. And you do that every Sunday for example 😊 hope that helps!

    How do you turn an existing task (or 10) into a template(s) so they can be recurring?

  • @n305
    @n305 Месяц назад +1

    Unfortunately this solution doesn't play very well with the idea of calendar view as the task appears exactly on the due date. One of the features of the calendar view is that I can plan my week, or next couple of days

      Have you found a solution that works with calendar view as well?

    • @n305
      @n305 Месяц назад

      Yes. I wrote a script outside notion that is polling my tasks database, every 15 minutes, using notion API. When it finds a done item that is recurring it creates a new one with new date. Works well

    I do not like the way they set this up. It's totally un-intuitive and has you needing to go through way too many steps to do something super basic. Also, I have the same question as another commenter in that I don't want the task to show up on the day, I want to see it on my calendar way in advance. Again, super basic way for recurring tasks to function so I do not understand why it's set up this way and just generally think it's pretty awful.

      Hey, I totally understand tbh. I think then manually doing it might be the go. Say if you go to the Gym every Wed and Fri as an example, then just copying and pasting a Gym item for the next lot of upcoming sessions might be the go. Unless anyone has another suggestion, feel free to comment 😊

      Yeah i've been banging my head with this. I want to have an automated schedule that shows up for the future, just like all decent calendars do. I hoped Notion Calendar tould solve this but i can't seem to find the option.@@ProductiveSetups

    • @ProductiveSetups
      @ProductiveSetups  10 месяцев назад +1

      hey if you add a course / book / etc as an item in a database you can then add notes / your highlights of that resource on that page :) So if you're reading Atomic Habits for example, you click onto that page and in there you have all your phrases and notes you jotted down. Hope that helps :D
