- Anthem of the Second Mexican Empire. The Pictures are of Emperor Maximiliano I of Mexico and his wife Carlota.
Maximiliano reigned from 11 July 1863 - 19 June 1867 when he was brutally murded by the republican scum Benito Juarez.
I own nothing in this video. All credit for music and images go to rightful owners. This video is not intended for Monetary gain but rather educational and entertainment purposes only.
This is actually the National Anthem. It was used during the Republic before the Second Empire, and it is the current one as well.
All the information I found said that the Second Empire used it as well.
Maximilian never changed the lyrics as the anthem has almost no ideological implications, save for “the immortal warrior from Zempoala” which refers to the former dictator Antonio López de Santa Anna and “Iturbide’s sacred Flag” which refers to Agustín de Iturbide, the country’s first emperor and one of our forefathers.

During my 2020 trip to Austria (before covid) I visited the imperial crypt where all the Hapsburgs are buried. It is not uncommon to see flowers and candles placed at the tombs by monarchists. Furthermore at the tomb of Maximilian, someone give a Mexican touch and placed a sombrero.

@@johnnotrealname8168 Austrian. From what I heard, when Benito Juarez's forces ousted Maximilian and sentenced him to die by firing squad, Maximilian paid them to shoot him in the heart so that his mother could recognize his face when his body was returned to Vienna.

@@michaelcastro9238 The empire of Agustin de Iturbide was not consolidated as it, There was the attempt but that never happen, therefor there Was not a Second Empire. Plus that Anthem was written after Maximiliano. Not for Maximiliano.
Jajaja un himno antimonárquico no era la opción del efímero imperio, el himno del segundo imperio es "la canción de los cangrejos" o mejor conocida como "adiós mamá Carlota" algo parecido a la Marcha Real del Reino Unido, la versión que se escucha es la oficial del himno nacional mexicano desde1984, y por cierto este himno estaba prohibido por las autoridades imperIales
