I bought a PRO-1000 on July 3rd. My maintenance cartridge is already ~40% full. I've been printing 1-5 prints per day. I believe the problem is the auto-shutdown that the printer is programmed with (at 240 minutes) out of the box. I changed that setting about a week ago and I have been checking the maintenance cart status and it hasn't creeped up since. Not sure the long term impact of running the printer 24/7, but so far it's been worth it.
If the printer was brand new the maintenance cartridge fills up very fast upon the initial instillation of the ink set. Buy a back up maintenance cartridge asap if you don’t have one. Also, I NEVER power down the printer. I’m not 100% sure but I’m under the impression every time you power the printer on/off it dumps ink. Basically, it performs a cleaning as if you have not printed in a while.
@@jdelarosa89 The maintenance cart was ~15%-ish full when the printer finished initializing. Because of the 240 minute auto-power-off it would dump ink every time I started printing. I disabled the auto-power-off to combat this.
Thank you very much for this video related to the Canon Pro 1000 printer. These videos are very helpful. Would it be possible to know what the average monthly cost of ink and paper might be? I understand that it depends on the number of prints, print size, etc. All the best ¡ 👍👍

Great convo here!!! Yes, unfortunately the first push for prints will use a bunch of ink! Good tip to turn off auto-off, what do y'all think??
Nice tip!
Thanks!! It needed to be done so figured I would drag out the camera lol
