How to Draw an SVG in Inkscape - Tutorial for Cricut

- In this video, I'll show how to create your own drawing in Inkscape (the free vector drawing software) and format it properly as an SVG, to bring into Cricut Design Space or Tinkercad (for 3-D printing), etc! This method is also great if you have a logo or image that you need converted to an SVG, for example if you have a client who would like their logo on a t-shirt, but they don't have a high-res version. (Just remember, use this only for images you have the rights to, and not for copyrighted artwork :))

@@HeatherCashArt I've continued to experiment with the prints and have found that visually (not tested yet with UV - just finishing my DIY UV light source) the darkest prints by far are with the printer set to manual color mgmt, Photo Paper Pro Platinum, Photoshop managing colors, Canon's PT2 profile and rendering set to saturated. I've been monitoring my ink levels and it looks like in this mode, only PGBK is used. So, pigment rather than the inks. I'm guessing/hoping that this is the most UV opaque setting. Further testing will tell... Thanks again for your video(s) (Not being a graphic artist by training or any other measure, your tutorials are very useful!)

Total could not follow the directions on drawing the head with Bezier tool , seems like you did not actually say click and let go and click again. At one point the click was held down and you said click again. Is that supposed to be a double click ?
When I say "click... And drag", you click and don't let go, you press the mouse button and hold it down, and drag. When you get the curve how you like it, then you let go. Then pick a new point further down the line, and click, don't let go, drag until the curve looks right, then let go... Does that make sense?

I've a wacom pen tablet. Can I use that instead of the mouse?
Yes you can. Using the pen tool will be pretty much the same but using the pen instead of mouse (but easier/more comfortable). But you can also experiment with using the brush tool to actually draw freehand instead of adding anchor points. You'll probably still end up wanting to adjust some of the anchor points afterwards, but it will feel more natural when you draw.
Hi. Wondering if u can help. Having an issue with the main cursor on my Inkscape main working screen when clicking on the square or circle icon etc on left side, as it changes to a shape cursor with a + sign next to it and whenever I create the shape its really faded.
Not sure what I've pressed or done to change that and how to undo or reset it?
I tried turning off and on the laptop on my Mac but its still the same when I open up Inkscape and even deleted Inkscape and reinstalled and its still coming up like this. Pls help.
