If you read the description comment: Kurt Russell is freaking great.
David here from Sebring Florida I have been a Disney and Disneyland fan and collector for over fifty years and I think the movie was fantastic!
It was very nostalgic and very heartfelt and shows a time in America that we will never see again. Regarding the War Games scene, yes it was a little long but that was a Walt Disney tradition, he always had a extra long scene in all his live action movies. I think he did this on purpose to give the audience their moneys worth. Be sure to look up on RUclips one of Walt Disneys film interviews talking about Follow Me Boys and other films he was working on. A real showman until the end. He passed away in December of 1966 the same year the movie came out into theaters 😢
Just saw this film for the first time. Was a Scout myself and never heard of it until two weeks ago. My family lived it. All you said, spot on!
I heard a story once that the costumer told Kurt not to get his pants dirty on this film. (He's a kid, he's going to play and get his pants dirty.) His parents promptly told the costumer that they needed to have more than one pair available for him. Kurt has said his parents watching out for him kept him balanced and sane as a child actor.
Wow! That's so wonderful that his parents were present and there for him!!
This was SUCH a good movie! How could you not cry when they adopt him in that scene. You are so spot on with that being one of the best scenes.
Christopher Burky Ugh! SO GOOD.
Oh I hate that when you can see that shortening something would be it INFINITELY stronger as a media piece! So frustrating!!
But oh my gosh this film seems so heartwarming and precious!!
Also I always chuckle at the cry count because I"m just picturing you fake crying into your microphone :D
bri-notthecheese Omfg!!! 😂😂😂 It's a final cut sound effect 😂😂😂😂 I didn't actually do the crying 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
UHM WHY NOT >:( >:(
I love this film too. If you like this movie you have too see Mr ScoutMaster.
Another possible in depth rewatch. 😊
I’m 57 yrs old and primarily watched the film for sentimental reasons...it took back to childhood and the way Disney could make u feel good about the world..
There was an expression back then that’s very true...THE MAGIC OF DISNEY!!!
I adore The Absent-Minded Professor, yet if you like this one, then I think you’ll like him in The Happiest Millionaire.
Let's do diiiis til the 29th!!! 🙌
Kurt was and still is cute
Guys!! It's celebration week!! Are you pumped? I SURE AM!
