sweet sounds like you need a muffler . Looks like you had fun with it ,i have fun with mine ,I also put a push blade on my bucket it was from a old simplicity 48in works good GLAD to see your back i like seeing the old 646 thanks Ric
hey Ric, thanks. they sure are fun. maybe in the spring I will make a mount for a blade, have seen a few on the case/ingersoll loaders and they seem well thought out. more videos forsure.
+ShnitzlHaus An old timer on one of the Case GT Yahoo groups gave me some good advice. Once the tractor is started shift the rear end to neutral and move the travel control lever to full forward or reverse. let it run like that for a couple minuets then ease it up to full throttle for five minuets or so depending on how cold it is. This will get the oil moving and warming up, it makes a difference on my 224's and 446.
MrGordy61 Hey Gordy, yeup good info. I do this on all the case/ingersolls and it works wonders. its more problematic on the 600 series as you need to hold the travel control pedal down with your foot. ways to improvise around that and so many cylinders that hold oil you need to cycle those also!
it will be in your main valve body under the tractor. you should do some reading on this as there are specific ways to test and set the valve pressure. I have not gone over my 646 yet to assist you. when I do it will probably be spring, as I do not wish to mess around with it in the cold.
I recently just purchased a case 646 and something in the drive train seems to be slipping when I push snow with it, could you please give me some suggestions on what could be wrong and could you please tell me what type of oil to use in the hydraulic system
I have a problem with my 646 it will not charge the battery how did you wire it coming from the rectafire unit I think its called that I might have wired my wrong Please send me pic at rdlasmith@sbcglobal.net if you get time thanks Ric
I had the same problem. your rectifier/regulator is most likely shot. assuming yours is the 4 wire kind and it works you would have wired the two stator wires to the outside terminals of the regulator, blue wire goes to + of coil, red/white goes to your ammeter. mine was dumping 18+ volts into my battery showing that the rectifier failed. Brian and SalemPowerEquipment has the updated regulator retrofit kit, all you have to do is cut a few wires and crimp on some ends, he provides great instructions in the package. I think I could make a video of it.

Ok thanks again
Now how do you like plowing with the loader? I have a gravel drive way so it would probably suck for me. Yet im gonna build a loader. Your thoughts?
Where is the relief valve located approximately?

relief valve might need adjustment, I know mine does. oil I use is rotella 15-40. you can use any 15-40
Nice job Michael. Can you run ATF in your hydraulics? If so that would help big time in the cold.
Nice
