      The best thing to do is press it fresh! Keep a close eye on the flower, once it's bloomed to your liking press it right away!
      I didn't color enhance or do any special processes for this flower, I simply pressed it fresh! Let me know how it goes for you!

    I have the prettiest peach carnation and it's in full bloom how can i press it so it looks like this instead of a side view ???

    • @sundaysunshine
      @sundaysunshine  Год назад +1

      Hi, thanks for the question! You'll be able to achieve that by pressing the petal open and flat just how you hope the final pressing to be. Also you can try to roll the paper over the flower starting from the head to the end of the stem of the flower!

    Hey! What can we use instead of a flower press to press carnations?
    Also, how do you save from getting moulds. Mine grew a lot of moulds and i had to throw them away 😭

      Oh no! It's disappointing when the process doesn't go as planned but I hope you're not discouraged to keep trying.
      I have two videos that can help you:

    Thank you so much I have learnt alot from you. I was wondering can u press orchids? I have one I'd like to press for my mother In law, would u reccomend taking them off the stem as its quiet a thick stem? I'd like to do it all in one If I can but I'm a bit worried 🙈 can you give any advice? Xxx

    • @sundaysunshine
      @sundaysunshine  2 года назад +2

      You can totally press orchids! Cut the stem as close to the flower as possible and put light pressure on it for a few days (you don't need to press it petal by petal! Wohoo!) and then gradually add more weight or pressure. Orchids retain lots of moisture so check on it frequently because you might have to move it onto fresh paper. If you want to keep the vibrancy of the orchid, press it as fresh as possible. If the orchid is starting to wilt and then you press it, it's very possible that it will lose it's color and maybe even turn white!
      In my experience I've only pressed the orchid flower, so I'm unsure about the stem. But if you try it out, let me know!

    Nice! Thank you. Any advice on pressing ranunculus? Do you deconstruct them?

    • @sundaysunshine
      @sundaysunshine  2 года назад +2

      Hi! Personally, I do deconstruct ranunculus because I like seeing the layers. I know it's possible to press without deconstructing as well, but the final flowers comes out looking more flat. It's definitely personal preference, but no matter which method you choose, take out a few petals or else the flower will be too thick!

      Some of my carnations (and other flowers) slowly have changed colors as well, so it completely natural.
      I've found to get the best color for pressed flowers is to press the flowers as fresh as possible. Keep this in mind next time and let me know how it works out!

    do you use a specific thing for pressing flowers or can you just use heavy books and such to press them?

    • @sundaysunshine
      @sundaysunshine  2 года назад +2

      Yes you can totally use books! I prefer to use a flower press because I fit more flowers but a book works perfectly as well!
