    On my daughter, Liliana's, 2 month birthday I found a closed and discarded lily blossom on the street near my house. I took it home and set the stem in water until it fully blossomed. Today I'm going to press it so she can have it for a long time as she grows up. Maybe I'll write a poem or letter along with it. I loved your definition of purity and I think I'll incorporate it into whatever I write for her. Thank you!

      @Sunday Sunshine It pressed well! Wish I could have saved more of the color, but it pressed and dried well in any case!

    Thank you for sharing this video. Your intro about purity was very moving. I've subscribed and will definitely check out more of your content. I've never pressed flowers before, but received a small press recently. Tiger Lilies grow in my yard, so I figured i'd start there. What are your reasons for preferring to remove the anthers?

      Hi, I'm so glad you've join the community! I remove the anthers purely out of personal aesthetic preferences, it's totally up to you though! Enjoy the process!

    Came here to learn Flower pressing & suddenly felt myself resonating with ur views of purity!
    Love from India!
    Anyways, I have a doubt.
    There's a tree with white+yellow flowers in my neighborhood. When I press it, it becomes brown, like a sun-dried one. Is it possible to retain its original hue ?

    • @sundaysunshine
      @sundaysunshine  2 года назад +1

      Thank you so much! It's really comforting to know that we're not completely alone in what we experience!
      Browning happens because 1. there is too much moisture that didn't get absorbed right away. 2. the flowers were too old by the time they went into the press. Just make sure you're picking a young flower, removing extra petals and swapping out the paper! Hope this helps!

    Thank you for your videos. Can I preserve flowers in silica gel and then press them?

    • @sundaysunshine
      @sundaysunshine  15 дней назад

      Thank you for the kind words! In order to press flowers they need to be pressed fresh. If flowers are dried they will be crushed in the flower press. I hope this helps!

    about how long do lilies take to finish their pressing/drying?

    • @sundaysunshine
      @sundaysunshine  Год назад

      Since I pressed mine petal by petal they took about 2.5 weeks to dry but it depends on how you press the flower and your environment! Simply run your finger along the flower and you'll know it's done when there is no resistance!

    Hi! New fan here.. have you tried pressing lisianthus? I tried but failed horribly. 🤭 It became moldy. Whyyyy. 😭

    • @sundaysunshine
      @sundaysunshine  Год назад +1

      Welcome to the channel!! I can understand the disappointment and frustration, I hope it doesn't stop you from trying again though!
      I haven't pressed lisianthus, but I would approach pressing it by thinning some of the petals. You can follow my "How to Press Roses" or "How to Press Carnation" tutorials and what I do in those video is how I would approach pressing lisianthus!

      @@sundaysunshine thank you for the reply ❤️. I think it's just too humid here and that causes the mold I guess?? I might put them in silica gel first before pressing.. maybe they are just too wet to press straight away 😥

    • @sundaysunshine
      @sundaysunshine  Год назад

      @@immarbled2491 Oh the high humidity can effect the outcome of a pressing so that might be it! Make sure you don't dry the flower completed with the silica gel or it will crumble in the flower press. I can't wait to hear updates!

    Use a pipe cleaner to clean the pollen. Fold it in half and lightly dust over the pollen covered areas. If it isn't rubbed in, it works wonders! On clothes too! It'll be your new best trick!
