Really beautiful man! Thats what bikepacking is all about, i think. Being close to yourself, finding the serenity, being in the moment. Hope you will continue to do solo adventures in the future, its something special.
Riskant maar groot gelijk om solo te gaan. Dat is voor mij ook de essentie van een mooie dag fietsen, dat je je niet hoeft te haasten, maar je eigen plan en snelheid kunt trekken. Pas dan kun je optimaal genieten.
One of your best video’s. As a cyclist who rides solo often, and loves to take his bike on holidays to new parts of my world, I really identified with this video. Thanks for sharing.
I really love these vlogs from Africa. The scenery is astounding and the people seem so kind and friendly. It's a nice antidote to all the depressing news in the world right now.
That must have been a tough but a courageous decision to ride solo. You have to alway follow your heart and in doing so life journey will alway be wonderful.
This is a breath of fresh air. The fact that you’re not pressured to release the same type of content and put your own enjoyment first is really refreshing. Keep doing what you’re doing! 🙌🏾👊🏾
I think you definitely made the right choice by going your own pace and wanting to experience the country more because that's what it's all about. Fantastic video.
Really enjoyed this one! Super interesting to see how we sometimes loose the whole point of why we're doing things! I'd be super interested in video about how you manage to navigate the professional aspect of bike riding without loosing the pure fun side of it
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." A good decision and very enjoyable to see it second hand from you. Bedankt, Martijn
This is why I love your content bro, you've got that competitive side but you also know when it's time to just relax and enjoy your surroundings. I lived in Kigali for 2 years from 1996-1998 with my parents as they were posted there with the Canadian foreign service. It truly melts my heart seeing Rwanda in this perspective as now I'm an avid cyclist because of ppl like you, inspiring. Thank you for sharing your adventures and keep doing your thing mate, respect.
Respect 🙌🏼 for taking the opportunity to make the most of engaging with a very different culture & landscape to ours. You can crank out the kilometres any day.
Enjoyed this video very much! Thank you! Truly amazed at how you can video while riding especially behind that truck going down 👍👍👍 Looking forward for more!
That opening shot, with the boat crossing the lake, was sooooo peaceful… given everything going on with a certain bully in Europe, I wish everything could be as serene… 🍻
Thanks for the video. It brought back some great memories of the time we spent in Burundi and Rwanda partnering in community development. The land of 1000 hills with lots of guys bombing down them on bikes….
GREAT … I like the way you thinking about you, yourself an your way of riding bike and enjoy your holiday … you got so many impressions from the countryside and the people around you … I’m sure you made the best decision and took a beautiful way for you and trough rwanda … I’ll be back in 10 seconds to watch the second part … 9 … 8 … 👍👌😉
I couldn't agree more. The best biketouring I've had was very short distances, with a day or two, or longer in each town. The ride was a chance to see small villages in between I otherwise wouldn't have paid attention to. But I was still...traveling. When I do other rides, riding all day, just to grab a quick eat and snooze...that to me isn't traveling, just just pedaling to see if I can do it. I'm happy I did it, but what did I see? Adventurer first, biker second.
These people are always so nice, I love it! I really understand your decision and I‘m glad you already enjoyed these two days. Stay safe and have fun exploring the country :)
You have reminded me of the poem byW.H.Davies called Leisure. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stop and stare, etc. etc. Well done for taking the decision to enjoy the experience 🤗👏🏻
Riding with the locals getting pinched out by a bus and they're calling spots in the rode! That is once in a lifetime stuff! Top notch filming/editing as always!
Dream trip! Why go somewhere like Rwanda if you’re just dropping the hammer the whole time. Slowing down to see things and enjoy the people is the way to go. Thanks for sharing!
@Martijn - really good video. Your one of the reasons i was inspired to buy a gravel bike alongside my road bike and explore the trails near me and develop a sense of adventure of my own. The last couple of video's were tough to watch - nice to see you back to normal with balance again even if that meant for this one you needed to go solo. Life is not a race to the end its a journey to be enjoyed and experienced.
I love my city and also I do tours on bicycle here but also i love to ride by my own, sometimes, just having my own experience so i understand your video. Best regards from Merida Mexico and that pedaling here is pending hope someday i could pedal next to you lml
Absolutely incredible! What a way to unwind and go your own pace. Thought something bad happened when I saw this appear on strava but looks like you made the better choice. Loved the more documentary styled video just sharing the sights with us 🥰
Hi, I love and enjoy watched all your vlogs. I just wondering, how you vlogging during cycling? I mean you only use mirrorless camera or you have action camera too? Maybe you can share on your vlog, what gears/items on your bag & etc. By the way i already bought Rille Camera Strap, its really nice.
Completly ok with your point of view. What is the meaning to cross a country if you don't have the time to enjoy the spots and the people when you feel it thanks for the video
As everyone else is saying, you made the right choice, experiencing the country the way you want to. Great video. Also, what is that track playing on the B roll at the end, it's great!
Best decision dude. Always listen to your own little inner voice, it's usually right, so big kudos to you for that. And much more up my alley than teeth grinding red zone biking - probably because I'm always not the fittest ATM 😆🤙
Awesome content! I always enjoy watching your videos 👍🏻 May I ask you a technical question :) what kind of filters do you use when filming with the Sony? Variable nd? I'm asking because of vignetting with wide angle lenses.
A difficult decision to make perhaps, but I totally understand. Being able to actually enjoy te moment instead of it being a 'just flash' in your memory where you think "I'd liked to have stopped there" ... That is exactly what makes my Strava averages really bad, I take at least 10 shots on an average 50k Dutch ride, imagine being in Rwanda🙂

I totally agree with you "Party Pace" is the way forward as you also get to experience so much more and find little gems along the way.
I really love these vlogs from Africa. The scenery is astounding and the people seem so kind and friendly. It's a nice antidote to all the depressing news in the world right now.
Best Fernwee ever. This was truly a joy. Thank you, Martijn.
Ahh thanks a bunch!

Your view on how you want to ride your adventure is a breath of fresh air.
Martijn man, this was special. brings us back to why we subscribed to you when you first started. amazing work.

Rwanda has changed, probably now more peaceful than Canada. You should return for a visit.
Respect 🙌🏼 for taking the opportunity to make the most of engaging with a very different culture & landscape to ours. You can crank out the kilometres any day.
Wederom genoten en kan niet anders zeggen dan; Ga vooral door met wat je leuk vindt!
Thanks for showing us the fun u had in Africa. Means a lot 👏🏽🙌🏽
Double Damnit! Amazing adventure and thanks much for sharing! Just riding bikes!
Really happy to see you take your time taking in the surrounding culture..!. I really liked the video
the people are awesome, amazing scenery, hope you enjoyed Tour Du Rwanda which is ending tomorrow.

Amen!
I have been in Rwanda as well, the local people cycle over those 'bridges' 0:43 while transporting other people on the lugage carrier
These people are always so nice, I love it! I really understand your decision and I‘m glad you already enjoyed these two days. Stay safe and have fun exploring the country :)
Martijn I really like this new approach! Thanks

Mooi gedaan. Slimme keuze. Top video
Really nice vid! What means pacing? Nothing! Enjoy life! Ride on, Martijn and keep up your great work!
Great stuff, a refreshing change of pace
Watching your videos is like being there! Good job!
Phenomenal content as usual Martijn - would love to do a ride like this.
I loved this one! What an adventure.

You should see more in solo and ride in relax way, experience and feel more!! Support your decision

Best travel choice you could have done 👌 Enjoy the ride!
Love this adventure nice video 👍👍
Thank you very much for the video. Very beautiful. To me at least as interesting as a race video.🙂
Great video amazing country looks like you are having a blast 😀
Man that was magical watching! Great stuff
Good on ya! Chill and enjoy --
Absolutely incredible! What a way to unwind and go your own pace. Thought something bad happened when I saw this appear on strava but looks like you made the better choice. Loved the more documentary styled video just sharing the sights with us 🥰
Glad you enjoyed it, maybe I’ll make something like this more often!
what a trip! hope to experience it someday!
Lovely!
Ace vid, fair play for going it alone! I bet it was ace 💪💪🏁❤️
Keep going man, keep going…really enjoy the vid.
Nice. Music so chilled.
🙏 for doing it how you wanted to, for me a far greater content than if you had continued on the original course 🙌
Great video! This feels much more authentic and less “influencery”. I love how much observational content there is!

Veel beter! Je deed precies wat ik mij afvroeg bij de eerste episode: waarom je niet onderdompelen in de cultuur. Nice!

Yeah man, this is it, this is what I subscribe for!
This is awesome! Any plan to make a vid of Tour du Rwanda that’s ongoing now?
Nope, we’re not in Rwanda anymore!
Best decision dude. Always listen to your own little inner voice, it's usually right, so big kudos to you for that. And much more up my alley than teeth grinding red zone biking - probably because I'm always not the fittest ATM 😆🤙
Hehe 😉
Dat was echt super Martijn, beste video tot nu toe!!
Wooow, thanks!
❤️🙏smell the roses
Very cool videos..
Do your thing bro!
Life should not always be about struggle. Take the slow road I always say.
Goed en eerlijk verhaal 👍🏻
Hi
I am your follower from Thailand.
Awesome content! I always enjoy watching your videos 👍🏻
May I ask you a technical question :) what kind of filters do you use when filming with the Sony? Variable nd? I'm asking because of vignetting with wide angle lenses.
Yup, i use a variable ND from Freewell
Go solo 'cause yolo! 👍
A difficult decision to make perhaps, but I totally understand. Being able to actually enjoy te moment instead of it being a 'just flash' in your memory where you think "I'd liked to have stopped there" ...

more of this
Awesome Video again! :) weich shoes are you wearing Martijn?
Thanks for the Info :)
Heyo, I'm wearing the new QUOC GTII's!
Love it💪🌿🚴♂️
It’s all about the riding & Sod the content! , oh wait don’t sod the content I need it for the channel. The Catch22 of a social creator.
cool.
This is I like more, more adventures, gives joys to those kids you met.
More “human” video I would say.
Salut.

Thx 🤜🤛
Moedige beslissing.... 👊🏻
What was the 2 hour dish?
All dishes take 2 hours to prepare, but in this case it was a grilled fish fresh from the lake!
Don't blame you for ditching Finley....... 😴
Lol
