These are VERY popular drivers now. Not sure an in-wall sub is their best use, and they play much higher than a simple sub would call for, i use these up to 350hz in my 3 and 4 way designs. So easy to work with, and they fit into VERY small boxes for the output/low resonance.

They look like the SB Acoustics SW26DBAC76-4 shallow subs

I would love to see a comparison between this sub vs JL Audio vs RBH vs any others I don’t know about.

Once again, this is an amazing job on the presentation of information. Always questioned in-wall subs, in those applications would/ did you have the at ear level or still lower level. (If that makes sense)

For these i'd have them corner loaded and on near the floor (tri corner) so you get as much gain as possible but if needed to fix an issue in the height modes you could raise them.

They have on wall subs to correct?

Hey Steve will you review the Tonewinner D8000??? Apparently its absolutely insane, dual 15 opposing and many ports on one side, menacing looking. Only available in foreign markets now but they'd be foolish to not release in North America.

Question, you mentioned in the video that the Reference Cinema speakers can be mounted with a toe in angle for the wide channels. Do you have a picture of these speakers? Because I can't seem to find them in their website. All the pictures are of their Reference Cinema and the Reference Cinema Pro speakers. I'm just curious to see how they look with the angled baffle.

That would require a custom build if you want them flush, but you can also use a mount to aim them.

When will you finally start using Bass Arrays? You are technically so far behind german Home Theaters. Basstraps? What for? My bass is completely free of room modes. Dry, precise, punchy … using 8 x 12“ combined as (X)DBA.

I do use them in plans where they make sense. I have for years. I also use bass traps in 90 % of my designs although you usually don't see the traps. In my demo room I have extremely advanced trapping where we have a bass trap partition wall, some corner and a floating trap. Watch my HT walk through.
FYI Bass arrays still have plenty of modes. You can only fix what's in the sub region and only the 1/4 and half points in the width and height modes, with a DBA you can also fix the mid point length modes. But modes still exist. We've also covered bass arrays in some of our videos. But yes, you still have modal issues although you've fixed some of them which is great!
So to answer the question we always have and shown it on the channel many times.

They're not very sophisticated in that they have no dedicated rack amplifier with DSP to protect them, yet are also quite expensive. They're using that same low profile driver you see in a bunch of little CI subs.

The filters are done in the room correction which ideally is where you'd want it.
