Just a speculation here, but he gives me such autistic adhd vibes honestly. The hyperactivity he has the singing the little “ohs” and “Hmms” he makes in the background could be stimming. Or monsters inc 2
Henry, randall and even johnny return. Boo. Now 9, she would teaming up. Along with tylor. Ben would also have a role as well since he is tylor's friend.
Then at the end. Roger would become a jokester and do funnier stuff and meet up a kid friend just like boo first met sully.
Henry in my theory. He abandoned roger and then his mom(ex wife)
Henry have alienated them and no longer in their lives. Henry jr decides to called himself as roger and take his mother' last name which is rogers
@@artisticsolarninja Interesting and that’s an interesting theory. I feel Henry should be like Robert Callaghan in Big Hero 6 tv series. Maybe Roger like Luke Skywalker will try to redeem his father by seeing the good in him.
Ngl Roger Roger’s is the best character of season 2 in my opinion
Something that mostly surprised me is that Roger is actually Waternoses son which explains the mutiple eyes they have and how Roger called him from prison
This guy is one of the best characters in the show. Protect him at all cost. I’m glad the creators didn’t make him bad like his father. Like just because your parents are evil doesn’t automatically make you evil as well. The design looks interesting. Apart from his father’s eyes, the rest has gotta be from the mother.
I never really knew that Roger was the son of Waternoose until it was revealed. And surprising, I like that he’s nothing like his father
Henry have abandoned him and his ex wife. Henry waternoose the 3rd(senior) have alienated them and avoided them out of their lives.
Roger rogers-waternoose jr is doing his own thing and he kinda wanted to be very enthusiastic or a comedian
I just realized Roger has one lazy eye
It also blinks independently, I like to think it’s an independent eye that just likes to look in one direction
He also have a British accent
@@sanyaisaflagfan5252 actually I think it’s Australian
@@cjoaquin3274 it is actually New Zealand accent as his VA is from New Zealand
A side effect from his father's abuse?
I really hope we get to see more of Roger in Season 3!
I was pretty surprised when I find out that he was Waternoose son.
Same
I didn't know he even had his own kids, so he may have been grooming a successor from one of his scarers (sully and randall were the best).
I was truly not expecting it.
Same here
Same
Fritz is Roger’s better figure figure then his own dad ever was
He was a pretty solid red herring character.
Right? I was having a hard time believing it and not believing it because it felt too obvious.
Same I thought he was the spy but thought it was too obvious in episode 8.
He really was, I almost thought that the fact he wasn’t the saboteur could have been a trick for a moment.
@@Endore5000 Was the red spray paint ever explained?
@@brianachim2670 I have to rewatch that episode, but I can only assume that he was merely trying to clean the graffiti up when he saw it as quickly as possible for the sake of it, not because he was trying to cover his tracks, but to be very helpful for Monsters Inc so they wouldn’t look bad for the media and thus got messy.
I feel like Waternoose doesn’t seem to see Roger as his son. He might be wishes Sulley was his son not Roger.
Waternoose definitely seemed to love Sullivan for how great at scaring he was.
I'd love for S3 to focus on Roger, with Waternoose coming back and giving a parent-son drama to the story
@@skips_51 or monsters inc 2

It’s ashame that it’s true in the real world that there are some of the kindest people in the world out there that really don’t have nice parents
I really like Roger, his personality is wonderful and brings so much light into the world. Also i really enjoyed Roger's song about those cheeky leaks. As a sidenote i like his name cause it's fun and i it reminds me of Star Wars

"Y'know, I always ask myself that every time I wake up in a palm tree"- Roger Rogers
I didn’t know Rogers was really a waternoose but he doesn’t look like him because his dad’s a crab while he looks like an octopus of some sort unless it comes from his mom.
Waternoose is a spider
And it most likely comes from her mom
Her? Did you mean his?

Roger has many eyes and legs like his dad, while I believe his fuzzy fur comes from his mom, but monster genetics are crazy random mostly.

Mine too, love him!
His real Name Is Henry J Waternoose IV
I love that one of his eyes isn't focused enough, which only adds to his uniqueness.
I love his expressions during the photo session ! 😂
Instantly in love!!!!
He’s such a lovable monster.
The thumbnail is just amazing
I love his design and reminds me of a relative I once had.
I feel like Roger was the best character, but I hate the fact how they do make him feel like a villain, I hope he comes back
If there’s a season 3, he will come back, he’s a MIFTer after all!
18:45 awww his sweet little monster heart went poof. I wanna give him a big hug
Which heart? He did say he had two lol
@@carwynscornerhopefully just one
Yes I suspected him the whole time, especially with the spray paint when he was covered in it and I even said aloud, “He cant clean it, they got him this time!” But boy was I amazingly surprised! Hes an all around good goof! I never suspected Randall returning and being the one to mess with the plant!
Randall returned being a menace yet again!
That makes the scene of him washing himself trying to remove the paint much sadder, given the context, since what we see is a genuine fear of being incriminated because of who his father was.
He's simply adorable!!! My favourite character from season 2❤❤❤❤❤
notice MIFT's number of eyes

Roger Rogers is the best character.😍
He may be Waternoose's bastard son. At least he is funny and not very sus and very enthusiastic and a kind hearted monster who did not wanna following his father's greedy empire
Is that Rhys Darby?
…IT IS!
I haven’t seen season 2 yet but I love Roger now
Has anyone noticed that his upper right eye is not active? It doesn't blink and seems almost like it’s loose.
It actually does blink, just independently.
I’m confused that Roger sounds like Buck from Ice Age.
He’s played by a different actor.
I don’t hear it in the voice sound but maybe the way of speaking.
@@alantheartist624I did my research and i can confirm that Simon Pegg did not voice Roger in monsters at work season 2 he was played by a different actor

@@JulianNevolic yeah that’s what I said…
Who would expect that new character is the son of waternoose
Henry probably had like a few other children besides henry roger rogers-waternoose jr.
I almost wanna know what Waternoose thinks of Laugh power
Waternoose probably wouldn’t mind it personally, but likely would have been against it if he thought it could ruin Monsters Incorporated’s reputation.
@Endore5000 but wasn't the fearco incident already messing with their reputation though?
Rodger may be cancelled in the monster world, but he accepted here in the human world.
The voice of Rhys Darby

Luv Rhys Darby! Roger Rogers rocks!
Just a speculation here, but he gives me such autistic adhd vibes honestly. The hyperactivity he has the singing the little “ohs” and “Hmms” he makes in the background could be stimming. His special interests could be hardware and the scream machine hence he got so excited. The chewing can be a stim too
ikk!! i thought the same thing
@@gfy572 yessss someone agrees!
@@Weirdboxofchaos x)) it explains so much why he chews metal tho. and also, when he said that hardware was his favorite category, he shook a maraca, which also gave me a hint that he has autism/adhd
@@gfy572 very much so, I’m autistic and adhd myself and I love shaky noises and chewing things! Also the unbridled optimism he has could be a mask so others don’t judge him for being weird because his dad didn’t like him, the potential autism and adhd could’ve been another reason for that

I gotta say, this show is absolutely enjoyable! Season 2 has to be better than season 1 and I hope we get a season 3 since Randall got away and is still out there

Roger deserves an apology and the world!
Rogers Roger reminds me of Huggy Wuggy. He has that look & vibe but less menacing & creepy
I feel like the red herring aspect makes it better.

One physical detail I adore of Roger's character design is that he has a lazy eye. I find it adorable.
did any notiched the Roger Rogers has a eye's disablite on one of his eye's
His top right eye doesn’t function like the rest, it seems like a common issue for monsters with many eyes. That’s probably why Ted Pauley takes them off when he’s not working.
@@Endore5000 okay

Henry J. “Roger Rogers” Waternoose IV
The rogers last name is Possibly from his mother's last name.
Henry jr or roger decided to called him roger and the name is now stuck and he is proud of who he is.
Roger did not wanna be like his greedy old man who have alienated him.
Honestly I thought Roger was the bad guy due to the fact that he's the son Monsters Inc's former CEO.
I feel bad for him in a way. He changed his name because what his father did.
It’s for the same reason people whose last name was Hitler changed THEIR surnames, even if they weren’t related to Adolf Hitler.
