    After Hoff's body was disinterred to check DNA, his family moved him to another cemetery so that he wouldn't by buried near Candy.

      Wow what a respectable caring gesture that was. I hope that helps them heal and brings both families peace. Hoff's daughter seams genuine and sincere and it must have been very difficult for her to apologize for what her father did but she did it. I wish them the best.

    How incredibly kind and thoughtful of the daughter to have given her DNA in the first place, and then to come forward, acknowledge what she discovered her father had done, the impact his evil actions had on the child, her parents and the community and how sorry she was.

    • @bettygray9108
      @bettygray9108 10 месяцев назад +2

      People who have not lived through a tragedy somehow miss the facts, the pain of losing your child is unimaginable no one can understand the pain. The fact they know he is dead, not doing this to someone else is good but changes nothing of the horror of losing your precious child. So sad you just don't get the decades of pain + suffering a family endures. People try to turn every situation into something happy. Someone who dived for bodies tried to tell me the people must be so happy to get the dead body when it truly is the most horrific day for them. Unimaginable pain when all hope is lost for the loved ones hoping their loved one will be found alive. Not a joyful celebration by any means.

      You mistake guilt for conscience. He killed himself over guilt, a product of ego. Conscience is a voice separate from you’re ego. It’s what prevents people from committing such crimes before they ever happen. It doesn’t cause guilt. Guilt is caused by seeing your reflection after the fact and being disgusted with who you are and what you have done. Two totally different things. Guilt is rooted in ego. Conscience is rooted in empathy.

    Lived in western WA my whole life, never heard of this case. Most likely the most famous cold case in Washington is the disappearance if Ann Burr in Tacoma in the early 60s. People debate whether Ted Bundy did it although its unlikely. Also the attack on 2 stewardesses in Seattles Queen Anne hill in 1966. Also ru.ored to be Bundy, again, that's questionable. And the murder of a girl in the dorms at WSU in 1971. Plus of course while not a murder, theres DB Cooper I would argue that those are 4 cases statewide better known than this one. Having said that, I'm glad this was solved
