If I need to wet sand a guitar with existing screw holes, I plug them with wax. Makes a good seal, but still cleans up easy when you're done. Plus, the screws go in super easy when you get to assembly!

Here is an idea for you. I think it would look great and much better to add another hex hole in the top of the headstock in the middle of the round area where the Custom Body decal is usually located by Fender. This would tie together the whole design from bottom to top and make the head stock look less Fender, and more Crimson. As always. You are an inspiration, thank you. Keep up the great builds.

In the future you might consider mixing resin with silver powder. A friend of mine works at the cabinet making company where they would do this process with copper and then paint it onto window frames to make the window frames look copper. You would paint The copper resin mixture on and then once it is dry you can polish it to give it a shine.

Hey Ben, when taping the fretboard, have you ever considered running a long tape strip along the edge of the fretboard, partially on the neck, on both sides? Then when you put the strip over the top both ends rest on/stick to the side tape. Then when you remove the tape, just pull on the horizontal tape and everything comes off at once! No fiddling around with each piece of tape!! Hope I said that right. You need to loose the nut knobs too, knurled barrel knobs look great. Cheers, --gary

Ben, I’ve tried tirelessly to get your attention regarding this guitar, I did a strat very similar, where I routed through the trem cavity in order to accommodate deeper stacked, pickups and because I had no barrier between the trem cavity and the bridge pickup I got hellish terrible feedback and ground noise and mind you these were noiseless pickups, I had to cut a thin piece of sheet metal and glued it in from the back side then a thin layer of hard foam on the bridge pickup side under the bridge pickup, and then had to surround the bridge pickup in soft foam to stop the hellish feedback on higher gain…. Please heed my warning

If your masking tape is left on for long time and it doesn't want to come off easy, warm it up slightly with a heat gun for a easy release. Similarly if your tape is ripping when you are trying to pull it off the roll, put the tape roll into a microwave owen and give it a quick heat - do not burn it - to re-freshen the glue and it will pull off from the roll and stick on the surfaces like a charm.

I'm so glad that this project is back and rolling again after a long hiatus and bless you it is very nearly almost "there" notwithstanding the all-important final push.
I do have a question that I don't remember you addressing in the videos though maybe someone has in comments but (I feel I need a dramatic pause).....
I suspect that any resonance the body had has been radically affected by the disruption of structure which may or may not be a good thing and there are schools of thought on whether this is even a consideration in an electric guitar but I'd be interested in your feelings on this, Ben, and of course far more crucially, Jasmine's???!!

Most parents would be annoyed when a child rejects a gift. To Ben it's a joyful moment that gives him an excuse to play around in his shed!
I have to say though that it looks pretty awesome, especially in terms of the paint job and the whole aesthetic seems to work well with the pickup (I do feel it could use a neck one as well but that's just me and it could always be added in later). Also I wonder if that Hammerite might make for a decent shielding paint alternative. One thing that might have set off the silver paint could be a white LED strip around the edge of the trem cavity (more mods for another day).

Planning the work order is essential for making each step of the work as smooth as possible. That is kinda missed in these freehand projects, where you get ideas as you go. But if I did find myself wet sanding an already drilled surface, I would use wax to keep water out of the holes. You can easily get the scratch plate off without removing strings, as the cavity is so open.. It just slides off.
