i own a bettersax alto and tenor. your pricing and great product allow me to pursue what i love to do while still in high school. Thank you for all you’ve done for young musicians worldwide
Very nice Jay! Your blend of different rhythmic phrasing along with merging the styles of classic jazz, bebop, blues, & smooth jazz makes for a very satisfying take that never got boring to my ears. Loved it!
Your excellent display of this tune, tonally and improvisationally speaking, has inspired me to attempt this tune with an imitation of your style - simply an ATTEMPT, mind you ( don't laugh now)
Is it his Yanny? He usually currently plays his own brand alto, to promote it obv. Don't be fooled by the underslung octave key mech, he pinched it from Yanagasawa.
@@johnwhyte-venables2167 You know what John, having looked really closely I think you're correct, I thought it was his a991 but the front F key is definately not a 991.
@@johnwhyte-venables2167 As we know the sound has far more to do with the player, then mouthpiece/reed set up than the horn plus he's using a little reverb, with Jay's ability he's going to sound pretty good on any horn.
@@johnwhyte-venables2167 Sorry to go on a bit but I have a suspicion that the neck might be a yani neck as it really looks like one not just the fact that it's underslung as I take your earlier point you said he's "borrowed" that for his own brand.
Great. I have looked at some instructions for recording sax and normally mic should be pointed up. Isnt this recording a bit sharp (not meaning pitch)?
Dammit man what do I have to do to be able to get some freakin amazing solo sax takes from this legend (various keys, tempos etc) so I can build songs around the parts. After listening to Jay, it’s like…nothing else sounds right to me…
legendary take on a legendary song
nice name

This is great! These solos always inspire me to play saxophone more
I wonder how it feels to be able to play anything you hear in your head ☺️🤔. One day for me. Hard work🎼🎷🎵🎷🎼
My favorite song, especially when I am down and sad, TQ Jay 👍
What a feeling !!!! Much more than play and knowing the chords and progressions it's all about to play with the soul.
I just love listening to and watching you play Jay
Cheers - Thank you
Wonderful phrasing Jay. Incorporating many styles in this classic tune. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration!
its great to hear you play songs, that i am learning, they sound so different, it really drives home, the uniqueness of each musician.
Incredible tone Jay
Played this over a full band arraignment a few years back... Wish I could have listened to this for a few ideas.. Thanks again for the fine playing.

Beautiful
Great lead alto sound Jay. I'd love to have you on our bandstand anytime in Boston / Cape Cod
Sounds so good!! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, I think this is gonna be my next transcription exercise. Nicely done as usual, Jay.
Did you finish the transcript?
Просто гениально !!!
Oh baby. Lovely.
Beautiful way of expression in the sax. That is the idea to have your own sax language in jazz.
muito bom
Super! What's your neck strap?
From Boston sax shop
That yani sounds sweet. Beautiful playing Jay. I remember George Adams playing this, you sound more like Mr Stitt however.

@@johnwhyte-venables2167 That's definately a Yanagisawa. I play yani's both on tenor and alto. I've got a beautiful t991 and a gorgeous alto.

damn that stank face again lmao. Beautiful tone on that horn
Jay, do you happen to have the pdf for this piece? Thanks :-))
Does the backing track come with music?
I thought he was playing "New York State of Mind" at the beginning.
What headphone model?
Sony
🎷 💭 🥰

Soft
I thought it was overdone, jerky because much too much tonging.
Good thing he didn’t overdub himself on Louis Armstrong
You lost the melody .
No, you did.
