Your video helped a ton, I do all my mechanics in the driveway, I really enjoyed seeing how to do it that same way instead of in a shop. I'll be watching more.
Yo! Malik! My dude, I can’t even lie bud. I hate a lil bit that you make this s*** look easy..😂 But, man, I wanna say THANK YOU SO MUCH for what you do man. Cool, calm, collect. A lot of these videos are full of “movie magic “😂 be like HTF did dude just do that? But, you show every day people how to make their car their B**** when it comes to fixing it.. I respect TF outta that bro. Thank you again!!!!
🤣🤣🤣 Greatly appreciated!💯 I try to show what needs to be shown step by step. I used to watch how-to videos, thinking the samething.😂 I try to keep my videos short and str8 to the point. I don't do alot of unnecessary talking. I'm glad you guys enjoy my channel! Thanks for watching!👑
I have a 2004 VW Golf and I had to replace both front bearings, the right axle and abs sensor. I get everything working right and some stupid driver in Decatur, Ga. Tried to take off my right front end. $2900 worth of work. His insurance fixed it but the body shop didn't push the hub all the way in and now my abs light stay on. I didn't take it back to the shop because I had to fight them. They install a used axle instead of a new one. The used axle was throwing grease onto the new wheel. Lucky I made a video of me installing the new axle less than a year before the crash. Geico had no choice but to cut another check.
Man listen, I have done a bearing job once!! It took me two days. The race had to be heated off. The next time the bearing messed up, I bought a new knuckle with the bearing attached already. More expensive, less headache
Did you lose any trans fluid when removing the axle assembly? Also, the service manual calls for replacing the shaft seal on the transmission, which I don't find totally necessary. I assume you left that in place?
If there's no tone ring(ring with teeth) around the CV shaft, the sensor usually reads off the bearing. If that's the case, the bearing needs to be pressed in with the magnetic/seal side facing the direction of the speed sensor. One side of the bearing is silver/aluminum and the other mag side is grey/black.
So i installed my cv axle on the same side of my 18' escape and i know its seated properly but now the car wont move. Do you have any idea why this might be? I didnt loose any transmission fluid during the install so i didnt add any when i was finished. Im at a total loss..
So on my original install it was working but the trans kept slipping so i knew it needed to be pushed in further,'i did that lastnight and it went in all the way, now its not moving at all
@peggypatsy91 Nah bad ball joints won't keep the tires from rotating. It's only 2 things that could be wrong. It's not seated properly or low transmission fluid.
Thank you so much for your insight, i appreciate it. I guess im gonna flush the trans then🙄 of course the escape is sealed trans so this should be fun! Lol
I have a 2019 escape with a whoomp whoomp whoomp sound at 40-50 mph. At highway speed it goes away and it don’t seem to be affected much by turning. I was thinking it was a wheel bearing but I figured that should get noisier on the highway at higher speed. There’s no clicking noises so not sure if it would be the CV axle. Any idea what this could be?
It’s not the tires as the noise was there with my winter wheels on and the same noise is there when I changed those out for the summer wheels. Not sure if the brakes could be causing it as the front brakes are getting worn. Also my gas mileage is not as good lately so maybe the front brake caliper is sticking.
It’s at the dealer now. A wheel bearing is gone. Weird how turning never changed the sound and how it was less noisy on the highway. Maybe it’s an earlier stage failure. It did start making some noise at highway speed so it was getting worst. Perhaps the next stage would have been noise changes when turning.
@newfie-dean5803 Your absolutely correct. It was getting worse. I've have cars that didn't sound like a bad wheel bearing, but was. Glad you found the problem.
@Jaguarspaw5 Yeah, I don't charge by the hr. Not sure where your located, but I use yourmechanic.com repairpal.com and call reputable shops and dealership to compare prices. I just make sure I'm lower.
Doing this is one thing doing it in the rain is another. Good work...
This is true.💯 Thanks for watching!
Amazing what a guy with some good experience and determination can do in a parking lot. Props!
Thanks man!✊🏾 I prefer being mobile than being in a shop. Its been 9yrs
So calm...I'll be swearing up a storm. Thanks for the video. This will be my weekend project.
You're welcome! I hope this video helps you get through it👨🏾🔧

Great video, thanks for sharing! I need to do the passenger axle on our 18 Escape.
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching💯
Nice work. What symptoms did they have before the repair?
@MrRyanv09 grinding sound when the wheels rotate. Got louder upon acceleration.
Nice video, my friend !!
Thanks alot! And thanks for watching!

Barely. No, I didn't replace it. Left the old one on.
Did your passenger front cv axle have a retaining clip?
No
What does the speed sensor read? I don't see a ring there 🤔
The speed of a vehicle's wheel rotation. It usually consists of a toothed ring and pickup.

On my escape I bought the whole knuckle, I was not pressing no bearings out.

Do you think it could be cause my ball joint is shot? It had like 3 holes in it

What size socket did you use??
I say what size for each bolt I remove.
How much harder is the drivers side axel?
Bout the same

Have your wheel bearings inspected

Flatrate
