Show épico que foi removido do youtube por algu motivo. Eu resolvi colocar legenda em algumas falas para PTBR. Espero que gostem do vídeo tanto quanto eu.

They had their first UK chart entry in 1963 with 'Stay'. Was just thinking that Tony Hicks looks about 16 and this is 1969? No that can't be right. Allan Clarke had that rare gift of being able to produce the same timing/phrasing when he was singing live that he produced for the recording. Not everybody does that - he never messed about changing the song.

Tony's about 23 or 4 in 1969 and so this IS what he looked like then. He was 17 and with a differentstyle when they had their first hit in 1963. He's just one of those people blessed with youthful looks. I saw him a couple of months ago ( Summer 2022 ) now 76 years old and still looks young for his age!

Gybiru.. O Bregado my pal!!!!... It's absolutely fantastic to find some "musical jeweleries" like these nowadays!!!... That's why I never tire of pointing out to repeat the same (with the deepest respect to the rest of other nationalities) but, apart of Brazilians & Cubans, it's quite difficult to find any other cultural environment around this globe with this kind of "magic musical hear" to really appreciate how powerful music can give us.. Honestly, I'm settled down in London for more than 3 decades and, believe me bro, I haven't seen yet by Brits a similar respectful respond that both Brazilians & Cubans have given it. By the way, once I've been hearing the intro- Potpourri, My God!!!, it's remind me a lot of memories... it's brought me back to when Graham Nash was a creative member of The Hollies... By the way, I suggest to all of you have a look to the interesting materials posted about some of the greatest, greatest British bands ever (totally forgettable today) like Honeybus, Plastic Penny, The Dave Clark Five, The Bystander, etc, So, bless you all and O Bregado again to Gybiru

Tony Hicks very underrated musician. Excellent harmonies and great guitar and banjo player. If you watch this performance, he hardly ever looks down to see the chords he is playing. One of the few bands that sounded great live. unlike many others including lip sync specialists DC 5. They are in the rock and roll hall of fame for this reason.

I was a teen in the 60's and I'd rate the top groups as 1-Beatles, 2- Beach Boys,- 3 Hollies. There were plenty of other good groups around, but only those three kept consistently churning out hit after hit.
No I haven't forgotten the Stones, but they only had a relatively few hits.

This concert was after Graham Nash left the Hollies and then joined up with David Crosby and Steven Stills. It was partly because Graham didn't like the direction the Hollies were going, specifically doing covers of Bob Dylan's songs.

Min første LP som jeg købte hos pladeforhandleren var "Hollies Sing Hollies" fra 1970. i 1969 lavede de en LP der hedder "Hollies Sing Dylan" der bliver nr. 1 på den engelske Top 40.

Very nice live performance with an orchestra to provide backing music fills . The benefits of playing in a theatre ( an orchestra pit right in front of them ) . Their harmonies were always delicious. 😀

First Hollies # I heard...I'm Alive. Loved how they took a standard 4-chord progression and reversed it to make Pay You Back With Interest. Unless that was Grahams Gouldman
